Katzor channels again
[dice=healing]d6
Sorry. Posted in the wrong forum.
Almon Elros |
Katzor? :D
"I say we double back, and keep a stickin' to our left side - that a way we won't get lost" - Aggrammar pipes in, as he peers down the left side of the Y shaped tunnel.
"Agreed. Will make finding our way out easier and hopefully lessen the number of surprises form behind us."
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Almon motions to send his dancing lights Probably have to recast them by now. down the left side of the 'Y' intersection.
brvheart |
Neither way from here is a dead end. Sorry, needed to reveal more areas in the FOW.
Good Thomas |
Pricked by impatience and a slight frisson of fear that he would adamantly deny, Good Thomas grunts and strides decisively down the left fork, slowing down and stopping just before reaching the room (28) beyond.
Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 3
Knowledge Dungeoneering: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Thousand-Faced Koan |
Koan shakes his head in annoyance.
He'd never spent much time in a dungeon before, but he always knew not to walk in blindly. He follows the two, tiptoeing to get in front of Thomas.
perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11

Almon screams, "Gelatinous Cube!"
Sorry about the posts in discussion guys. A lot going on there this AM.
The cube rolled an init of 5.
Sorek |
here's a recap of the situation for those not able to access roll20 right now.
Currently only brvheart and Sorek are on roll20
We are in an empty room and spot a Gelatinous cube down the corridor in the next room
Sorek |
The cube has spotted us and for some reason thinks we may be food
brvheart |
init Almon: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
init Aggrammar: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13

Sorek |
After Lars action Sorek will:
take a diagonal 5ft step in front of Koan.
Standard action: ranged attack
The range increment of the attack is 10', but is considered to be a projectile instead of a thrown weapon, so the attack has a maximum range of 10 increments instead of 5. Whether or not the attack hits, the deadly fist's unarmed attacks are no longer empowered and he must take the normal time to empower them.
Ranged Psychokinetic Discharge: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
Damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9 range 10 ft, max range 10 increments)
I don't know how far it is. Please apply any range penalties to this attack.
Move action next to Koan to clear his firing lane
critical confirmation: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
brvheart |
@Sorek 1) You cannot crit an ooze
2) You can't take a 5' and then move, one or the other.
Aggrammar Deepdelver |

"What the heck?" - Aggrammar grumbles - "I could have sworn I had said 'double back', and Almon had agreed... Wasn't the lad listening?" - he huffs and puffs as Thomas simply ignores the discussion about where to head, and plods forward.
------
Following the others, he spots the mass of semi-transparent goo - "Don't think I ever saw one of them things, what is it?" - he questions, readying his longspear - "Don't really matter, just make sure it flows down the drain!" - he adds.
Position updated on Roll20
Standard: Starting Inspire Courage
Almon Elros |
Initiative: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
"I'll slow it down!" says Almon. With a few gestures and quick chants, Almon conjures a pit beneath the cube.
Almon Casts Create Pit underneath the gelatinous cube. Standard Action
Edit: Sorry. DC is 17.
Thousand-Faced Koan |
Never having seen anything like this before, Koan does what any normal person would do.
Deadly Aim: 1d20 + 8 - 1 ⇒ (11) + 8 - 1 = 18
Damage: 1d8 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 1 + 2 = 5
Five foot shift diagonally, and attacking. I should've asked, but originally, things like Power Attack and Deadly Aim were abilities anyone could do. If you'd like to do away with that, then adjust my roll to 19 to-hit, 3 damage.

I think you have enough advantages already without 2 more extra free feats. Let's keep this as RAW as possible here except my few house rules and the extra feat he gave you.

Top of round two
Cube is in the pit so you need to be within 2 squares to have a line of sight/affect.
Almon Elros |
"Unless anyone has oil and flame, I think it is best if we just go around this thing. We can easily avoid it again later if needed until we can find a way to dispatch of it easily," says Almon.
He moves quickly through the room to the other side, sidestepping to his right (west) five feet to avoid the edges of the pit.
Good Thomas |
Good Thomas grunts. "I've got no oil or the like on me, but that thing will get out of the pit sooner than later. Let's destroy it now and not have it hit us from behind when we're in another fight."
Sorek |
Round 1 corrected actions:
Ranged Psychokinetic Discharge: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
Damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9 range 10 ft, max range 10 increments)
no critical against oozes
Round 2: full round action double move
move action: re-empower my fists
move action: move to w/in firing range
Well done Almon! Koan lets see if enough arrows can poke a hole in this thing
Thousand-Faced Koan |
Koan grabs an incendiary arrow and let's it fly. Half way through he realizes what everyone's been saying.
"...oh, sorry. I panicked."
Incendiary arrow: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13
damage: 1d8 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 + 1 = 5
fire damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2 feel free to add anything I forgot. I'm at work and can't look anything up.
brvheart |
Just one issue with that Koan, you have to spend time lighting them:
You take a –1 penalty on attack rolls when firing incendiary arrows. You can light up to six incendiary arrows as a full-round action (a standard action if you use a tindertwig) that provokes attacks of opportunity. Once lit, the arrow burns for 2 rounds. A lit incendiary arrow deals an additional 1 point of fire damage.
And it only does 1 point of fire damage, not a d6. So you ended up firing an unlit arrow.

"Thomas rather than putting you in unnecessary danger let's see if we can kill this thing safely. Aggrammar can you poke this thing with that long spear of yours? Almon this magic pit isn't going to dissappear any time soon is it? . Koan let's see if we can kill this thing by just shooting at it. "

The cube will once again attempt to climb out of the pit
climb: 1d20 ⇒ 8

I know it has an AC of 4, but you still have to roll to hit. Always the chance of rolling a 1!

That is a bit too many attacks as the pit spell only lasts four rounds. Let's let the others get in a couple of rounds of attacks.
WabbitHuntr |
lol... Didn't know how long that spell lasts and thought I was shooting a jellyfish in a barrel.. Plus the dice rolls were copied to my clipboard so I just kept pasting round after round
