Roga, savage technologist
Roga nodded at the metal-clad priest and got his sword ready.
"So all I do is hit normally and it works by itself, right?"
He stepped away from his companions, "Get ready..."
He yelled, "Hey, hey, over here. Come to papa."

"In theory yes, I just hope it doesn't blow up when you hit the creature. Well maybe as that would be fascinating to watch happen and to study." Figgy reassures Roga.

Reflex: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
Dilana's bolt of lightning glances the beast, it roars in anger.
The Manticore swoops into it's attack, leveling out 20 feet over head. It's wings kick up dust and debris around you. You are all lashed as the downdraft whips shards of metal and razor wire into the air.
Hover damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Visibility is now only 10' thanks to the dust. Hover kicks up in a 60' radius so you are all in the area.
Responding to Dilana's attack on him the Manticore lashes out with its tail, sending 4 spikes hurtling at her.
Tail: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29 Damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7

Tail: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18 Damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
You are in a cloud of wind blown dust. The party may act now.
Raktar Garnok
The cloud of dust and debris kicked up by the manticore's wings scrapes at Raktar's skin, slashing into his scars. He looks up at the beast, shielding his eyes from the dust, while at the same time activating his armour with a thought.
GM - is the manticore wearing any metal at all? I can't do a lot from down here, so if it's got any metal I'll cast heat metal on it. If not, I'll ready an action to hit it if it comes within reach. Other than that it's just an immediate action to expand my smart armour.

Thanks GM. Just the immediate action and Ready to hit it then.

Still smiling Dilana flicks her wrist and a wand appears. With a gesture and a word a ray of black energy lashes out at the Manticore.
"What an unpleasant creature."
Ray of Exaustion: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10 DC14 Fort

Valeria Starr
Valeria follows the path of the manticore as it approaches, waiting to fire her new Zap gun at it. She shields her eyes as the creature stops mid-flight to hover and kick up a coud of dust. Nearly blinded she fires at the last spot she saw the beast.

GM_DBH
Dilana's crackling ray of black energy misses the Manticore.
Valeria takes an estimated shot, provoking a howl of rage as it punches into the Maniticore for heavy damage.
The beast keeps to the air, still trying to remove the spellcaster.
Dilana, the last I had been informed was you were in the air? If you have landed please tell me so. You took 31 hps damage last round, leaving you with 3 hp.
Concealment. 1-50 miss. 51-100 hit.

Dilana takes 28 pts damage.
What are you doing now?
Lets see if they remember?
Raktar Garnok
"We can't stay out here," Raktar shouts, coughing and spluttering in the dust cloud. "We need to get into the cave - it'll have to land to take us on."
GM - I believe I can follow the arrowed route with 60ft of movement, including the difficult terrain outside the cave. Is that how you read it? If so, I'll double move that way taking the Reflex save to avoid damage.

Raktar Garnok
You make a good point.
I'd been concentrating on getting away, and not the witch plummeting out of the sky next to me.
Raktar sees Dilana land next to him, her prone form riddled with spines and her clothing soaked with blood. Using the dust cloud as cover he reaches down to check her for signs of life. Finding none he shouts out to Figgy.
"Quickly, get the trauma pack out! Dilana's dying!" Raktar then leans down, exposing Dilana's arm and neck to assist Figgy with trying to revive her.
I assume Figgy will pull out the trauma pack plus to try and keep her alive, so I'll use a Standard Action to aid another on Figgy's Heal check.
Heal to aid Figgy: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12 Figgy, have +2 to your Heal check.
Dilana Hemlock
I did not type it, I had assume landing before combat when I told the team the nest was empty.
As her body crumples her last thought is simple.
Bad plan Dilana. Bad..... plan.....
Her consciousness fades as the blood leaves her body.
Raktar Garnok
Looks like she's currently at -25, which I why I was assuming you'd use the trauma pack plus to breath of life her.
Figgy Greasefitter
Seeing Dilana safely fall to the ground, Figgy see it is time to put that new piece of Technology to work, pulling out the Trauma pack, Figgy moves quickly to Dilana placing the item on her and quickly administering the drugs inside.
Heal check: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 7 + 2 = 15
Healing: 2d8 + 2 ⇒ (4, 2) + 2 = 8
I thought Figgys heal check was higher than that
Dilana Hemlock
I will start thinking about a new character lol. Its not an AP until a character dies.
Raktar Garnok
You might not be dead for long. Depends what Dinvaya can cast.
Raktar Garnok
You are alive at 8 HP presently
Sadly she's not. You healed 8 HP which brings her up to a still-dead -17 (with a Con of 13 Dilana is 5 HP short of being alive).
Valeria Starr
With her companions working furiously to save Dilana, Valeria tries to lay down covering fire but with all the debris flying around she proves to be more a menace to them then to the manticore.

The barbarian cursed the manticore as the witch plummeted to them.
Knowing he was well near useless with the wand, he grabbed a healing potion and prepared to shove it down her throat.
"No, no, no. You can't die. You're my healer, remember?"

CMW potion: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (3, 1) + 3 = 7
GM_DBH
If someone else were to grab the Trauma pack plus and use on Dilana, and make a DC15 Heal check then you can give her another 2d8 +2. Raktar can't as he used aid another. I'm just starting my live game, and my GM has said "Ha ha, suck it PC! Now start playing or your character will join them."
Dilana Hemlock
It can be used twice in a round! That is amazing and not something I had realized.
Raktar Garnok
I hadn't thought of that, but I don't see why not. It's got 4 charges left and can be used as a standard action. Thanks GM, though I fear Figgy and I are the only ones with much in the way of a Heal bonus.

Combat has changed. Dilana is not dead. As per the discussion thread I had Olimpia hide and shoot on the first round. She critted with her musket. That didn't quite kill the Manticore. Valeria's 2nd shot with her Arc pistol did though. So Dilana, you are still -31hp, but not dead, and the Trauma pack plus is still unused.
The beast staggers in mid air as Olimpia's shot booms out, nearly blowing it's head off, Valeria takes her chance and her electric shot kills the thing, it crashes to the ground among you.
Two mutations, an abnormally thick hide, which let it ignore the razor wire in front of it's lair. A vulnerability to electricity, which made those shots from Valeria and Dilana's lightning bolt hurt.
The cave floor is a foul tangle of bones, grisly remains, toxic waste, and rubble-but valuable items are strewn about the place as well.
The following treasures lie hidden in the cave: a rusted iron coffer (Strength DC15 to open) containing 250 gp, a masterwork cold iron dagger, a +1 battleaxe, a silver armband with inset pearls worth a total
of 700 gp, a ring of the ram with 17 charges remaining, and an EMP pistol (9 charges).
The EMP pistol is not timeworn. It's been added to the New tech sheet.
What now?
Dilana Hemlock
To be clear Dilana is at 3/34 after the ret-con, correct?
Figgy Greasefitter
"Do we have to take a Trophy to show that we killed this thing? Next we move on to the Dish and the place with the weight alien undead? Figgy asks while giving the green sludge pools a wide berth.
GM_DBH
@ Dilana. Correct. Once Olimpia's 1st round action was added in the Manticore was barely alive. Valeria's 2nd round shot got it before it could fire it's 2nd volley and kill you. Not quite a retcon as I hadn't botted Olimpia when I should have. I will take a kill if there is no avoiding it, but I also will accept some scrambling for a PC's life. :)
Olimpia Beta II
Good shot GM! Musket Crits are brutal. I am betting we should keep the EMP pistol to use against robots. Have not read it yet.
Dilana Hemlock
"Ouch, ouch ouch!"
Dilana hisses in pain and looks around surprised by the suddenness of the victory.
"Last time I get excited to see something so deadly. Thank you for killing it, I thought I was going to die guys."
She examines the body of the creature and finally gathers the spikes that struck her to keep them.
Raktar Garnok
We dodged that bullet! Thanks for the very effective retcon GM.
Raktar moves over to look at Dilana's wounds. The manticore's spikes look long and very sharp. "Do you need some help Dilana?" he asks, a look of concern on his face.
Raktar Garnok
It might be a little subtle. The letters aren't quite big enough.
Raktar agrees with Figgy as to their next move. "Yes, this large dish thing sounds like it should be next on our list."
Dilana Hemlock
"Olimpia and Valeria, that was a very effective shooting. You probably saved my life. I owe you one, or three."
Dilana retrieves the CLW wand and closes up a few of her more painful wounds.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

"Oh that is better."
GM_DBH
You travel east though the oppressive stacks of rusting metal and debris that form the canyon. At least reaching an area that opens up in wider space.
As you enter the area many vultures leave what they have been feasting on and take to the sky with the sounds on many wings. The area seems to be dotted with the corpses of Chokers. It seems the purge Hellion performed on his thralls when the transmitter array in Torch was disabled was very through.
You have arrived at the Receiver array. What are you doing now?
New map up top for the receiver array.
Raktar Garnok
"This town gets grimmer and grimmer," says Raktar, a look of disgust on his face as he looks over the corpses strewn everywhere. "Time for a look around?" he suggests.
Dilana Hemlock
Seeing the grim sight Dilana decides to close up few more wounds before this fresh horror is investigated.
CLW Wand: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
As they move she makes sure to stay behind Roga and Raktar as much as possible, not wanting to repeat recent mistakes.
"We should I guess. Not doing a fly over this time thought."

Olimpia gives Dilana a hug. I am glad you are ok. We are a team and should always be there for each other.

It doesn't take long for you to determine the receiver array is both deserted, and has been stripped of anything useful, bloodstains mark where the Chokers fell to the Lords of rust.

Looking around you still see nothing, the only sign of lfe is the wreckage in N6, which seems to have been gathered to make a small nest?
What are you doing now?
Olimpia Beta II
Taking a chance Olimpia shakes her head, sheaths her weapon and says in a normal voice That did not work. If you want to come out and talk we can do that. Otherwise we have to come in and look for you. If we do that we will have to consider you an enemy.
