Roga, savage technologist
Roga wondered out loud, "I wonder how long it would take people to come and check this... thing if we shut it down?"
He added, "I suppose we could wait a couple of days, right? I mean with Khonnir out and safe, what's the hurry to get back in there?"
Dilana Hemlock
Will stopping this bring back the torch? The town needs it badly
Raktar Garnok
"This thing is draining the Torch, and we don't know anything about how ithe torch works anyway, and someone is doing something to drain energy from it, and is killing people who are looking into it," Raktar says with growing frustration. "Leaving this on isn't making anything better, and is probably only making things worse."
He steps over to the machine, and points at the big red button. "This turns it off, right Figgy?" he checks, before turning the machine off.
Jeremiah Johnston
"If that doesn't do it, my gun can try." JJ quipped before chuckling slightly. "In all seriousness, we probably should turn it off and plan a stake-out."
Roga, savage technologist
"Dilana is right. The Torch needs to be investigated. So let's turn this thing off and head back down."
Roga keeps his distance as Figgy fiddles with the humming box.

I vote to head back down and continue exploring
Figgy Greasefitter
Springy turns the machine off, Figgy gives him a look but pats him on the head.
"Well the decision is made for us, do we set up the ambush here now?" Figgy moves over to lock the door and move a box in front of it.
Dilana Hemlock
Thinking about what to do next Dilana at least makes up her mind as to what is best.
"No need to wait here. We can let the council know that someone may be coming and head back in after as soon as everyone is ready. I am as ready as I think I will get personally."
Jeremiah Johnston
"The council isn't going to do much other than send somebody to get us once they arrive. In the time the messenger got to us and we rushed back here, the bad guys probably would have turned it back on and left." JJ spoke. While he didn't disagree with the plan, a few parts were questionable. "Might as well cut out the middleman and do the job ourselves while keeping the big wigs in the loop."
GM_DBH
Despite vigorous questioning of the surviving Ropefist thugs it's soon clear that they have no idea of anything regarding the Relay, or Ulraths arrangements with whoever paid him to store it?
While turning off the device hasn't reignited the beacon, it has ended the epidemic of headaches that plagued the town. The council is grateful for your work is ending the problem, and for uncovering the relay. Khonnir Baine is detailed to study it and see if he can learn any more.
The party is given another cash reward of 2000gp to split between yourselves.
It was the middle of the night when this all happened, and midday by the time the council had heard your report and talked among themselves.
There is still the question of who set Ulrath on you? None of you had any hint of what he was concealing, so an unknown must have pointed him at you hoping to remove either you or Ulrath?
So, it's midday, the relay has been switched off for 12 hours now. What are you doing?
Roga, savage technologist
Glad and little smug with himself and his companions, Roga liked the feel of cash in his hands.
"I think we should head back down. This town will not be the same until we restore the torch."
--------
vote to continue exploration
Raktar Garnok
"I agree - without the torch Torch is nothing. We'd have no income to speak of and the town would collapse. We need to know more about what's going on down there" says Raktar, the passion and love for his home town very clear in his voice.
I concur with Roga. Let's get back down there.
Dilana Hemlock
"Agreed, unless someone fixes this we have no town. Lets get back to it."
Figgy Greasefitter
"There is also that tech that we didn't understand at first, I feel that the research Tybalt and I have done will allow us to figure out more things while down there." Springy nudes Figgy "Also Springy wants a blaster like that other robots had."
Roga, savage technologist
The swim through the stinking water was something Roga would never get used to. He dried off and retraced his steps to the area where they had found Khonnir.
The barbarian led the group, trusting on his instincts to warn him of any danger, but always with his hammer in hand.
He once more thanked the witch for making his weapon magical and allowing him to lead the way.
"Everyone OK?"

Roga will lead but will defer to the smarter people if there's a door and/or trap that needs 'disabling'.

A shy android approaches the group in whatever staging area you are using before you depart. She has some type of light armor that has been coated with lamp black and wears a pair of unusual short swords of possibly Tien design across her back. She shoots Jeremiah a quick smile before saying Hi all. I am Olimpia. A friend of Tybalt's and Jeremiah for a year or more. Tybalt says he has to do handle some things and has asked to to step in and step up. So I am here to help, if you will have me. And if so, I'd appreciate a quick run down on what you have done, are about to do, and my roll in it all.
Current
Despite her dense build Olimpia is a decent swimmer and cuts through the water silently. The cold seems to not bother her much. Once out of the water she draws her twin blades. One is a dark metal and the other bright but other than that they appear identical. She seems to see well in the darkness and looks about for any threats. She falls in behind the large barbarian.

Figgy is awe struck at the Android, he pulls out some of his tools and approaches here. "GOOD DAY!! You are more than welcome to come with us, just one question. Can you explain to me how you work? My little friend here." Figgy thumbs at Springy. "Is my master piece but you are well... You are something.. No Springy don't get mad, I will always Love you. No I said to stop that or I will have to take your legs off again." The Gnome and little robot move off to the side fighting.
Figgy will be in the middle, Figgy looking forward and Springy watching back.
"That water still is terrible, was it like that forever does anyone know?"
I don't have all my formulea online so I will just stick with what he had before, I need to update that on my GDrive.

JJ will be somewhere in the middle of the group for best flexibility with his pew pew sticks.
As he gets through the water, JJ is as graceful as an anchor. Instead of swimming, he simply trudges along the bottom as best as he can. While he was reluctant to bring along Olimpia, her skills would be useful. She wasn't Tybs, but no one could be really.
"Don't get me wrong, Olimp. I'm thankful you could cover for Tybs on short notice. Still, you sure you can handle this? You're more of a runner than a fighter..." He asked his comrade-in-arms as he checked to make sure his powder was still dry in the waterproof bag.

The way back to the Science deck is quiet, aside form the pervasive hum of the many devices that fill each room. You have just entered the Science deck when you are struck with surprise as 3 ragged Half-orcs, in leather armor and wielding weapons seemingly fashioned from jagged scrap metal ambush you with wild cries. "For Hellion!"
Well almost! Jeremiah manages to spot Red and Green crouched behind table and calls a warning. He does miss Yellow who is the best hidden.

Change of actions sorry. Olimpia you're right, it's the peril of not having a pure Rogue in any of my games until now. So you easily cut down Green on your first action.

Silence falls, less than 10 seconds from the start of the fray to it's bloody end.

Silver Disks are dead batteries that are used as currency in Torch. I would imagine if you traveled to far they would just be junk.
"Well did you find anything? More angry men may be coming."
I hope I like this new addition. She seems shifty and Tybalt was just.. smart.
Can we tell that Olimpia is something other then human? Tech based? I do not know if living in torch I would have met an android.
GM_DBH
You probably have heard of Androids, and seen one or two. Numeria is their homeland. It's a Knowledge local to know more than that about them.
Olimpia seems very nice, if a little shy. Aside from the instantly slicing people to death bit. But you're an adventurer so that's normal for you. :)
Dilana Hemlock
I believe I am an 18 year old cobbler with a talking scorpion so not so much an adventurer yet. I will comment on the cool android later though I am sure :).

The door is untrapped and opens easily, revealing a short hallway with dirty foot marks leading directly east into D9.
This unlit circular room is empty save for a panel of controls on the wall to the northwest. A coil of tubes dangling from the left side of the panel periodically flashes with sparks, while a single square window on the panel blinks with several lines of strange writing.
The coil of tubes has been clumsily repaired by someone recently.
The blinking panel.
Deck 4: Engineering
Deck 3: Science
Deck 2: Crew
Deck 1: Docking
The line titled "Deck 3" is bright blue; the other three lines are faint blue.
It's a elavator. Tap the deck you wish to reach on the panel.
Figgy Greasefitter
Figgy runs up to the panel, after a few minutes he reads it out loud.
"Deck 1: Docking, Deck 2: Crew, Deck 3: Science, Deck 4: Engineering. The 3rd deck is bright blue so that must be where we are. We are in a lift so we just pick a deck and go there. I say we go up 1 more and then go down? Mind you there might be some BIG! robots on the engineering deck." Figgy gets excited at big robots.
Roga, savage technologist
Roga looked at the panel with concern, "So if we press a button, someone will work the pulleys and take us where we want to go?"
He raised his eyebrows, "Are you sure you want to let people know where we want to go?"
Olimpia Beta II
GM DBH I hope you mean "C"9. for the room. Also since there is no DC for the elevator I assume that if you have either skill you know what it is and how to work it? Also, is Androffan a thing? Android seem to not get it for free.
Dilana, here is Olimpia's description; You would know she is unusual to say the least. She pretty much looks like her alias. "Standing exactly 5' tall, to three decimal places, and weighing in at 100 pounds without gear, Olimpia possesses an otherworldly look. She has purple hair covering about 2/3s of her scalp and where the hair seems to be shaved away an area of lighted blue lines can be seen under her somewhat translucent sin. Here eyes are almost all whites with no irises. The blacks of her eyes dilate and contract in a mechanical fashion. "
The rogue announces the door clear and advanced to C9 where she studies the writing and tech and announces, agreeing with Figgy, This is a lift. It can take us up or down. We should explore this level before moving on.
Raktar Garnok
"These brands are unusual. You'd have to be a fanatic to get anything branded on you, I'd think," Raktar muses as the group moves on.
With no knowledge of any of the technology that Figgy and Olimpia seem to be very conversant in, Raktar listens carefully to their announcements. "How does this lift thing work? Is is dangerous? Maybe we should explore the rest of the rooms here, like Olimipa said." There's a clear note of concern in Raktar's voice - the technology in this place is far beyond his understanding and it's obviously disturbing him.
GM_DBH
Olimpia. If you have the Technologist feat you recognize what the device is and what it's used for. Elevators are a standard feature of the technological ruins of Numeria, so no DC. Androffan is a language, a couple of the campaign traits gave it to you. Or it's fairly easy to pick up as a lot of people have learned it to better study the ruins and devices. And you are right, it's C9.
Dilana Hemlock
"So we can move in a tube up and down. Should we make sure we have reviewed all of this level? Could be leaving a robot to attack from behind and I walk in the rear!"
Thanks Olimpia. I am sure Dilana would be looking at your quizzically but not have a reference for what to even ask.
Figgy Greasefitter
Figgy looks at the panel again then at the group, "I guess you are right BUT!!! I get to push the buttons on the lift. I don't think it is dangerous." Figgy moves back to the entrance rooms.
