I'll probably try to squeeze some stuff in for the morning and evening. We'll see how scheduling goes.
Kelvar Mylan
And I'm back. Ready to go.
DMHW, I think we're waiting for you to update with the Cardinal's answer to Yzera's question.
Kelvar Mylan
Yeah, I've noticed. I keep checking everyday, but...
I was enjoying this. I really don't want it to be done.
Kaath the Bastard
If you'd only sign the damned contract, Azrin. But no, you had to be Mr. Snake Charming Contrarian. Well, Mr. Thorn might've been a snake, but he wasn't the kind you'd be able to charm.
Should've just signed. Nerd.
DM HolyWater
Well, well. Many apologies again for ditching this campaign and everything else. But that is in the past. Let's get this going again and have some more fun.
Everyone level to 2. Level 3 won't be too much further on either.
Any questions or problems?
Remember the changes/house rules are in the campaign tab. I am trying to come up with a way to make magic crafting easier so there is no need to worry about being less powerful because you sacrificed some feats just to craft the perfect piece of gear but I don't want to just make them free with no investment of any sort. I'm considering skill investments or scaling crafting feats as long as your spellcraft is maxed(why wouldn't it be).
Carnadine
Woot!
Can we read about what any nasty consequences for the characters that don't accept the Cardinal's terms (i.e. not continuing PCs)?
Carnadine
I find 5 is best. If someone goes on vacation, it's only 20% missing versus 33%, which you can start questioning whether or not to pause the game.
I'm running 7 in my own game and like it, too. Started with 8. You really don't miss anyone's absence. But it's definitely more DM work.
If you want, you could recruit more and tailor their backgrounds to fit that they've been working with the Cardinal already or something.
All that said, if you want 3 committed players, let's go! I'm not slowing us down.
cheers

I am still around. I am in another WotW campaign, so I may have some knowledge of the campaign, but would not mind playing again.
I definitely prefer smaller parties. Large parties invariably always end up waiting for 1 or 2 slow posters (I am up to about 40 campaigns now, and not a single large party has need up surviving without losing 1/2 the party to attrition.
If we need an arcane focussed character, I can switch up Yzera. Not sure to what, will have to look at the rest of the party. She will end up with some arcane spells from the Crimson Assassin PrC, but nowhere near full caster.
Could probably switch to Rogue/Arcanist or Slayer/Arcanist without changing her too much.
DM HolyWater
Ok let's just go with the 4 then with Yzera here for now.
Don't switch up your classes unless you really want to.
I'm going to work on the post to get into the next scene.
Meanwhile, I have totally lost track of any loot that you got from branderscar. So since level 3 will come before you leave the mansion you all have 3k worth of gold to spend by that time.
Kelvar Mylan
We also still have the veil, and the window that was on it.
Yzera, you can switch it up if you want, but I think we can manage without a full arcane character. We've got a lot of full attack power, and I can start preparing Summon spells if we think we'll need a little extra support. Fiendish templates for all the summons!
By the way, the timing of this starting up isn't 100% the best, as my wedding is today, with the honeymoon next week. I will still have cell service, and I'm going to make this campaign my focus for posting when I get the chance, but I may need to be GMPC'd.
I'm really excited to be back in this one, though. It was my first PbP on the site, and I definitely liked both it and the group we had.

Kelvar Mylan
When I say "focus for posting", what I mean is that when I have time, this is where I'm posting first. Obviously, the rest of the time I am going to focus on the wedding.

I am out all day tomorrow. I am still trying to figure what I can do to get some arcane power without changing Yzera too much. I am considering either rogue/arcanist or slayer/arcanist. This would still allow her to go Crimson/Red Mantis Assassin as a PrC if I want.
Might also drop the vampire route, although something else could be interesting. I have another character going the vampire route and want to try something else.

Ok, we have the following:
Rosemary - anti-paladin/magus
Carnadine - anti-paladin/oracle
Kelvar - slayer/cleric
Yzera - slayer/warpriest
So, we have:
4x melee
3.5x divine (1/2 for war priest and anti-paladins)
1/2x arcane (although magus is really more melee in my opinion)
1/2x skill (slayer)
So, unless someone has a great opposition to it, I was thinking about rebuilding Yzera as a:
Rogue(unchained)/Sorcerer(Rakshasa Bloodline). I need to chat with DMHW about it, but I think that due to Yzera being beholden to another deity, the Cardinal and Tiadora could do some "educating" to her over the three days which would result in a change in her view of things, as well as a slight change in her body and personality.
Let me know what people think. She will end up being the arcane/skill character that we are missing and should still be fun to play for me.

Sometimes you need to make everyone "Inactive", and the campaign. And then reactivate everyone to sort of reset things. I have not had this happen to a campaign in probably a year, but have had campaigns not show posts several times in the past.
Yzera Hykeph

Ok all, probably not perfect, but I have a post up and have converted Yzera to a rogue/arcanist. I kept one slayer level since that was her real background. The post sort of explains the conversion. You can use your imagination as to what happened.

I'm back, married, and honeymooned. It was quite an enjoyable time.
Of course, now I have to catch up on everything (one of my games has 60 new gameplay posts. I was only gone a week!).
Yzera Hykeph

60, you are lucky. I went away for a week three years ago with little to no internet, and had over 500 posts to read in about 4 days that I had no internet, and then had to try to catch up on my phone.

Ok, equipment:
Mithral Shirt - 1100
Cloak of Resistance +1 - 1000
masterwork sawtooth sabre
Lots of normal stuff: (probably 150 gold total if we have to pay for them)
- Masterwork Backpack
- a belt pouch,
- caltrops
- chalk (10),
- flint and steel
- grappling hook,
- mess kit,
- mirror
- pitons (10)
- rope, silk
- soap
- masterwork thieves' tools
- lantern, bullseye
- trail rations (5 days)
- waterskin
- spell component pouch
- spellbook (gift? from Tiadora)
Will probably save the other money to get some scrolls for her spell book after we finish the next section, assuming we have time.
Let me know if all this is ok.

I am usually here, but we need to get the posting up if we plan on getting past the first part of this campaign. Even at a good pace, I have campaigns that are 3 and 4 years old and are only levels 6-10.
Carnadine
My family and I are traveling out the country tomorrow until September 8. I will have infrequent access and opportunity to post. Bot me as necessary.
