Asteria charges the indicated man, attacking with her sword.
Lana also charges, attacking the man with her longsword.
Lily pulls a shot onto one of the other men with her bow, while Mona charges him.
Vartigan casts a spell underneath the leader of the men.
The leader of the brigands falls prone.
Gaedren seeing this not going well, sighs and pulls in his Longspear, " Don't be disheartened! I'll lead the way! "
He moves into the fray and jabs his spear aimed at the leader's head.
After falling prone, Gaedren easily dispatches the head brigand after he had been so deftly dodging all attacks prior.
Three men try to brave the grease, but they all fall prone in its slick surface.
Many other men try to close with those still in the back, though they don't make it into melee.
Hazel charges down one man trying to close with those in the back.
Lug shouts, "Let's crush their heads, and then turn it into Jam! DELICIOUS!"
Lug destroys the man in a single blow, crumpling him into the floor.
Avarice reaches into her pack and throws a liquid vial onto one of the approaching men.
Asteria tries to make up for her missed attack.
Asteria puts her target down.
Lana attempts the same, attacking one of the men attacking Gaedren.
Lana wounds her target badly.
Lily attempts to help her finish off her target.
Mona continues her attack on the previous target.
Mona bites her target around the throat and brings him down.
Vartigan now pulls his bow and takes a shot at Gaedren's attackers.
Shaylee charges Gaedren's attacker as well, "You'll get him next time baby!"
Shaylee drops Gaedren's attacker that Lana had wounded.
Gaedren sees one go down but the wound from the previous enemy caused him to be bleeding. Pointing out the flaws in the man's stance Gaedren attempts to bring him to the ground hopefully make the man easier to fell.
The man stands and attacks Gaedren.
The remaining men close to combat.
Hazel attacks her opponent.
Lug yells out more, "Weakling, your hits are like that of child. CHILDREN ANGER ME."
Avarice takes a step back, and chugs a vial.
Asteria turns and attacks Gaedren's attacker.
Lana attempts the same, attacking the man attacking Gaedren.
Lily and Mona team up to attack the men attacking Lug.
Vartigan and Shaylee attempt the same.
Gaedren summons up the rage given by the strange song Lug bestowed upon him and roars out! " YOU GET AWAY FROM MISS AVARICE RRAAAGH! "
He charges the man who was attacking Avarice.
The only remaining man attacks Lug.
"Lug Smash you now!"
Hazel charges the man attacking Lug.
Combat ends quickly and violently, leaving an uneasy silence in the hall.
Gaedren is still hyped on adrenaline pulling his spear from the now blistering body on fire and rushes over to Avarice to check on her. "Are.. *breathe* you... *gasp* Fine.. Miss Avarice... " He also looks to Lug,
" How... about.. you.. Lug? "
Avarice walks back up to her attacker and kicks him gently, "Hey, you alive still?"
The man groans in response, to which Avarice says "Good." as she pours a vial of Alchemist's Fire onto him.
"I've never felt better my friend, the day hasn't begun until I've shed my blood! Hah! A shame it was wasted on this chaff!"
Avarice watches the man burn and twitch in agony for a few moments before turning back to Gaedren, "A bit worse for wear I'd say, but thanks to your assistance I seem in relatively good health."
"Despite the rude welcoming committee this actually answered an important question, people do survive here in the tower."
" That's.. good.. I'm glad then.. hehe.. it's been a while since I've done that. I havent lost my edge. " Gaedren's wounds start kicking in as the adrenaline leaves him
" See if there is anything on them... Waste not want not.. y'know "
He watches the cold way she deals with the man.. slightly unnerved but could not show such a face. She would likely not respond well.
"The men said something about "Nexus"? Made it seem like a place, could be important."
" Likely it is either their base of operations OR the area in which people inside here live.. though I know not what they would use for an economy inside such a place. They came from the Northern door so it is likely there... Lily can you track them back where they came? "
"I'm not so certain I can follow tracks here on this hard tile, but maybe Mona can follow their scent."
With help from Vartigan, Shaylee climbs up onto his shoulders, "Onwards and upwards I say! The only way out of here is probably at the top, so let's make it there in one piece, ok!?"
" Good we can use that then.. otherwise I guess we can take their blades if needed.. armor if you dont have a set. Does anyone have any healing capabilities? We might run into more trouble. "
Avarice reaches into her pack and pulls out some vials, opening one up for herself she begins to drink it before throwing another in Gaedren's direction.
While Lug begins to violently punch himself in the chest, which, bizarrely seems to be helping.
Gaedren catches it, then fumbles a bit dropping his spear before falling to the ground and unceremoniously hits his chest.. the vial secure. Seeing her drink the flask, he does the same action. Hopefully it wasnt another Alchemist fire. That would be painful.
" I guess then we take Shaylee's approach, onwards and upwards. Our party has been christened with this first combat.. I think we did relatively well. Let's see if our luck continues. Oh and I forgot to mention. Great job everyone. Especially you Shaylee and Asteria. "
Asteria bows, while Shaylee blows Gaedren a kiss and a wink, twirling a small dagger around her hand.
Gaedren slowly looks to Vartigan confused and smiles innocently.
