The Tomb of Horrors Part 1 (4e) - Group 1

Game Master Rev Rosey

The monster that is Tomb of Horrors.
Two groups are going through this.
For some reason I set up a second game thread for Group 2, but not for Group 1.

Surges: 7/10

Despite Rothel's increased resistances, the shadowy ray still takes a lot out of him.

Let me know who is/isn't bloodied, so I can heal, last I looked it didn't look like anyone was.

Map and init order amended. Not sure who is bloodied, but that last attack might have done enough to bloody a couple of you.

Female Human

Nope - not yet.

Am now

Male Half-Elf Invoker/17 Speaker of the Word

Lisbarr attempts to lower himself the remaining 5 feet.

Athletics: 1d20+6=(18)+6=24 (one square down: 4 squares left to move)

Finally at the lower level, Lisbarr turns and completes his move ny moving to P18. He then utters an illuminating word to stop the apparition.

"Fluzz!"

Syllable of Light 1d20+15=(14)+15=29 vs Will. 1d8+12=(2)+12=14 radiant damage. If hits, construct is also blinded and deafened to the end of Lisbarr's next turn.

As as effect, whether it hits of not, Akemi and Lyan get a +2 power bonus to all defences plus resist 5 radiant to the end of Lisbarr's next turn.

"Perish to those who would deny the rightfulness of good!" He shouts, not caring if the construct can hear him or not.

Nearly bloodied, 40/76

Lisbarr's bizarre divine outburst has no effect on the construct, but bolsters Akemi and Lyan for a brief while. The skull sneers at him.

What is the blue blob, please?

My spirit companion

Female Human

Cheers. OK then. Minor - Agile Recovery - I stand up. Move - shift to Q16. Standard - attack with Bond of Pursuit vs AC:
1d20 + 21 ⇒ (18) + 21 = 391d20 + 21 ⇒ (3) + 21 = 241d12 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
15 damage and if it doesn't end its turn adjacent to me, I can shift 5 squares as a free action to move closer to it.

Akemi flips up from the floor and slashes at the evil thing in one fluid motion.

Despite his complaints, Norrin is surefooted enough to avoid tumbling into the unexpected pit. Akemi likewise ignores the hazard and makes an unlikely four armed apparation with Rahz-Ahk as she joins the spirit and smites the skull.

Rahz-Ahk moves to take advantage of his proximity to three other combatants. He then grants Akemi an essence of his rage, allowing her to strike with fury against the skull.

While he rages, Rothel use his connection with him to channel some of the life energy he gives himself to Lyan.

Mechanics:
Move spirit to R15, use Sly Fox Spirit on Akemi (she makes a basic attack as a free action, IF she hits, Norrin makes a basic attack as a free action). Minor Healing Spirit, Rothel gets surge +9, Lyan gets 3d8 ⇒ (8, 5, 2) = 15.

Rothel harnesses his inner energy to push both himself and the Spirit to further action. His push causes a wash of vitality to flow over the allies nearest the spirit. The renewed push allows Rahz-Ahk to strike as well.

Action Point:
Lyan, Akemi, and Norrin get 5 HP being adjacent to my spirit companion when I spend an AP. Action, Spirit strikes with Enraged Spirit Attack. 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (3) + 15 = 18 vs FORT, damage 1d12 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12. if it hits the skull takes 1d12 ⇒ 8 damage if it deals ANY damage before the EoMNT. ugh, wasted AP.

M Hobgoblin Battlemind/Quicksilver Demon 17 (Foe Killer)

Much obliged

Akemi needs to make an attack. Most likely so will Norrin (i.e. if she hits.

Alright! Up to 86/95 HP. Norrin tries to pet the four armed apparition.

What square does Norrin end up having avoided falling in the pit?

He's teetering on the edge next to Skullboy.

Akemi needs to roll and then I'll sort out the rest of Rothel's actions.

Male Half-Elf Invoker/17 Speaker of the Word

BTW, is Lisbarr's passive perception telling him anything about any other pits nearby? (I can ask...)

From where he is standing, Lisbarr can make no judgement on the state of the rest of the floor.

Time stands still as Akemi flows into action ...

"I said don't do that!"

Lisbarr is bloodied at 24/76

On being hit, Lisbarr slaps at the construct and pushes it further away.

Armour of Wrath As an immediate reaction to the last attack, Acererak takes 1d6+4=(6)+4=10 radiant damage and is pushed to S14

Lisbarr pulls himslef together (a bit) and uses his second wind.

Now no longer bloodied and at 43/76 HP and +2 to all defenses

"Anyway, why are you still here? Why don't we just finish this. It hurts!"

Action point: Sun Strike vs the construct vs Ref. 1d20+15=(4)+15=19. Don't like that roll, so roll again Speaker's Action power 1d20+15=(16)+15=31. Better. If that hits, it takes 1d8+12=(5)+12 radiant damage and he can slide it one square nearer the floor, which he does.

"'Why are you here?' Has been put forth by my friend. So the question is, do you have anything worth living for?" Norrin says as he launches the final arrow.

Without direction from Rothel, Rahz-Ahk moves up to the skull and swipes at it with his powerful claws. Still in the form of the enraged spirit, his rage compels him. Swiping weakly, the spirit now stands ready to attack if it tries to go anywhere.

Move to the space above N15, Attack with Enraged Spirit Attack 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (4) + 15 = 19 vs FORT. damage? 1d12 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9 and if the target deals any damage before the end of your next turn, it takes 1d12 ⇒ 7 extra damage. Rahz-Ahk's attacks make no impact on the skull. Turning itself upright once more, it sucks viciously at Lyan's lifeforce, holding the hobgoblin in place and dazing him.
