Melinda/Ameiko/Zaiobe:
"Of course. No belly hits, obviously. If you get tired, you take a rest. If you need me, just call. For my part, I am staying in bed with a book."

Alaric gives both Ameiko and Zaiobe a mouthed "thank you" when Mel's back is turned.

Ovorikheer Pass ~ Before the exodus

Kyrademon:
<Do you feel like going for a nice, hot swim?> Mel asks hopefully.

Female Quarter-Orc Sorcerer

Alarc/Ameiko/Zaiobe:
Mel smiles at all three gratefully. When breakfast comes she sets upon the clams with glee. The only sign of sanity is when she comments quietly, "These should be disgusting together." as she scoops up just a little more ketchup.

As she sates the odd craving though, she seems more herself. She looks over at Ameiko, with a mischievous smile, "Other than learning how to handle his sword, how goes the dating thing with Hrunndalf?"

Male Human Cleric 10

Melinda/Ameiko/Zaiobe:
When the food arrives, Alaric says, "Do you want me to order anything for you two?"

He'll eat whatever the locals normally have for breakfast, and does his best to mask the odd mix of affection, amusement, and revulsion the sight of his beloved chowing down clams and ketchup. At Mel's question, he perks right back up and directs his attention toward Ameiko.

Alaric/Melinda/Ameiko/Zaiobe:
Melinda Sorn wrote:
Mel looks down at the baby bump, then up, "How in the world... Nine months of this morning... How would you stay sane?"

”I don’t think it’s quite this bad for the entire nine months,” Ameiko says.

Melinda Sorn wrote:
"Baby shower?" Mel asks, the words sounding a bit lost in her mouth.

<Did you want one?> Zaiobe asks. <It’s a convenient way to pick up clothes, diapers, a crib, and suchlike, if nothing else.>

Melinda Sorn wrote:
"Actually..." looks at Ameiko, "After breakfast..." and then a rush of words, "maybewegofindRhostandworkonyourfighting?" She looks at Alaric, "Mom warned me that I may feel a bit... agressive... as Milena got bigger." She coughs, clears her throat, "In between the bouts of wanting to curl into a ball, all I wanted to do was find something threatening and kill it... perhaps throw up on it..." She looks down, "Maybe if I work off that energy on Rhost, I won't try to kill the village bully."

Ameiko nods. “I like this idea. After breakfast, let’s go beat up Rhost.”

Alaric Graff wrote:
When the food arrives, Alaric says, "Do you want me to order anything for you two?"

Ameiko’s eyes flick to the clams, and she says, ”No, thank you.” Zaiobe does not seem put off by the food, but she also demurs.

Melinda Sorn wrote:

”It doesn’t go,” Ameiko says. ”Not anymore, anyway. He asked me for a decision on it one way or the other, and I told him I thought we got along a lot better when we were friends and nothing more. Which is what I do think, actually.”

Melinda:
<You plan to forcibly drag me to a pool filled with nubile naked beauties?> Suishen asks cheerfully. <Well. If I must.>

Caravan Women:
"Five months is far too long to go without a hot bath," Buttersnips observes, but with a happy smile.

"Woman soup," Ameiko says, luxuriating in the warm water, "Is my favorite soup."

ON THE PATH OF AGANHEI – Week 25

DATES: Pharast 24 – Pharast 30
LOCATION: Osman Confederacy/Tundra
SPECIAL ENCOUNTERS: CABINS, ENCAMPMENTS
WEATHER: Calm
WIND: Light
DAY/NIGHT CYCLE: Normal
AVERAGE DAYTIME TEMPERATURE: 0 degrees Fahrenheit / -17.8 degrees Celsius
AVERAGE NIGHTTIME TEMPERATURE: -20 degrees Fahrenheit / -28.9 degrees Celsius
DISTANCE TRAVELED: 224 miles
TOTAL DISTANCE FROM SANDPOINT: 5075 miles
TOTAL TIME SINCE LEAVING SANDPOINT: 205 days

The days grow longer and warmer as you head further south. The average daytime temperature is now only thirty-two degrees below freezing – a veritable paradise.

The area around lake Buriyiim is dotted with tiny Erutaki encampments, and occasional cabins set up as shelter for hunters or weary travelers on the Path of Aganhei. For the first time since the Land of the Linnorm Kings, you feel you are in an area which is inhabited by humanoids, settled by more than a single town. The Erutaki camps are tiny, often numbering fewer than a dozen people, but they are there.

As you leave the Osman Confederacy lands and enter the nameless tundra that lies south of them, the land becomes empty once again.

As you enter the tundra, Ulf’s earlier cheery mood evaporates, and he becomes rather sullen.

However, by the end of the week, although it is still more than 200 miles in the distance, you begin the see the peaks of the great mountain range known as the Wall of Heaven – the last barrier that lies between you and the steppes of Hongal, in Tian Xia.

You are getting close to the end of the Path.

Week 25

Melinda:
This week, you have an insatiable craving for oatmeal bread with lemon slices.

Pharast 30

Melinda:
<So,> Zaiobe asks you when she finds a moment of privacy with you. <Are there any plans for Alaric’s birthday next week? Or if it’s something you prefer to share between just the two of you, feel free to tell me so.>

Female Quarter-Orc Sorcerer

Lio/Rhost:
Lio wrote:
"Thank you." She says quietly, after the hug. Her gaze turns to Melinda, and she wonders if it's ok to hug her great granddaughter as well. She errs on the side of caution, and doesn't initiate the contact, though she smiles at Melinda, her expression warm and caring.

Mel grins back, obviously happy for Lio. Sense Motive 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13 Mel cautiously spreads her arms, inviting a hug, but nor moving toward the elven woman.

”I don’t think it’s quite this bad for the entire nine months,” Ameiko says.

"I'd be surprised if it were. Even so, I have a ton of experience treating the symptoms, so relief is just a poke in the ribs away."

<Did you want one?> Zaiobe asks. <It’s a convenient way to pick up clothes, diapers, a crib, and suchlike, if nothing else.>
"That's a good point. I keep forgetting that I should probably go out and actually do that. And also get some kind of earplugs for Reta, Zaiobe and Uksahkka"

”It doesn’t go,” Ameiko says. ”Not anymore, anyway. He asked me for a decision on it one way or the other, and I told him I thought we got along a lot better when we were friends and nothing more. Which is what I do think, actually.”
Alaric nods sympathetically. "He's handling it well. Better than I would have."

Alaric/Melinda/Ameiko/Zaiobe:

"I think he was a little bit relieved, actually. I don't blame him. We had an epically bad date. I was surprised he had any interest left at all, afterwards."

Male Human Cleric 10

Melinda/Ameiko/Zaiobe:
Alaric pats Mel and Z on the thigh in turn. "One bad date doesn't necessarily kill romance. Honestly, you two seem a lot happier and at ease lately, so you made the right call."

Female Quarter-Orc Sorcerer

Alaric:
"I never..."
When Alaric is out of the wagon he gets a clear but confused question from Mel, "Alaric, are you matchmaking or is there another reason we have Sandru and Uksahkka getting toasted to sexual declarations."

Alaric/Melinda/Amieko/Zaiobe:
Alaric wrote:
"I'd be surprised if it were. Even so, I have a ton of experience treating the symptoms, so relief is just a poke in the ribs away."

Mel reaches over to squeeze his hand and mouths a relieved 'thank you'.

Mel nods, smiles, "Baby shower then." She looks at Alaric, "And we will make sure to have thank yous for the other people who are going to have to deal with our little leek."

Ameiko wrote:
"I think he was a little bit relieved, actually. I don't blame him. We had an epically bad date. I was surprised he had any interest left at all, afterwards."

Mel leans over to hug the bard. "I'm not. He isn't the brightest, but he knows a good woman when he sees her." She smiles, "You both seem more comfortable around each other with that off the table." Quietly, "And that means that you don't have to feel pressured about anyone else either."

<Baby showers, bridal showers ... we're going to have a lot of showers this spring.> Zaiobe does not seem at all upset by this fact.

"Oh, he's not a bad guy at all. I mean, sure, if there's a foot lying around, he'll shove it in his mouth, but he always meant well ... until he started getting romantic notions about me. Then he got weird, and I got weird back at him, and it was ... weird."

"But I had my talk with Kalimac about keeping things casual for now long before this all went down. So that took some of the, the pressure off beforehand."

Male Human Cleric 10

Melinda:
Alaric drunkenly shrugs. "Kind of? Sandru seemed down, Uksahkka's a nice girl... I figure putting them in the same room and seeing what happened was pretty harmless."

Female Quarter-Orc Sorcerer

Alaric and Company:
Mel smiles at Sandru, a impish light in her eyes as she whispers near-inaudible to Uksahkka. "Alaric is trying to play match maker a little bit. He likes you and Sandru, wants you both to be happy." Her smile for Uksahkka is much sweeter, "Do you want me to stay and play duenna? Do you want me to make sure that Sandru remembers how to get home? Do you want me to pour you another drink and find another 'I never..'?" With a shrug, "Since you seem a little blindsided."

Male Human Cleric 10

Melinda/Ameiko/Zaiobe:
"Such a girl," Alaric says to Zaiobe with an affectionate chuckle.

"But I had my talk with Kalimac about keeping things casual for now long before this all went down. So that took some of the, the pressure off beforehand."

Mel smiles at Ameiko, "Sounds like you have all your problems well in hand."

Mel's hand goes cautiously to her mouth when she hiccups at the completion of her clams. When it she is certain that her body isn't going to change its mind about the meal, she stands up. "Okay, we're happy. Now lets find something to kill..." She stops, "go ... find ... Rhost for sparring." She says carefully. "Z? Do you want to come? Or stay here and read?"

Either way, Mel finds clothing appropriate to getting hit in the head by a barbarian and changes into it. As she does so, slightly muffled, "Normally we fight barehanded, but... If you keep the sheathe on the Shrike... it'll be more of a workout for you and it will keep you from hurting either of us too badly, I think."

"He's nice," she finally says.

Zaiobe:
"Thanks for staying with me, Z." Alaric curls up with his book, hesitates, and then: "When you come back, do you mind being a pillow?"

Looks at Ameiko, "Two on one? You with the Shike sheathed, Rhost and I with our fists. It'll put him at a little disadvantage... but armored up and..." Looks at Rhost, "Please don't hold back your rage?"

And she meets Alaric at the door. <I believe one of us had a whole naked on ice on their to-do list?> She grins up on him, <Do you have the spell needed for that?> Not drunk herself, she's blushing a deep, hot jade as she looks into his eyes.

Male Human Cleric 10

Melinda:
"I don't! Damn it!" He sighs. "Tomorrow night?"

Female Quarter-Orc Sorcerer

Alaric:
She only has a bit of a pout as she grabs Suishen and takes Alaric's hand. "Then stargazing in camp then." The smile in her eyes promising him tomorrow night.

Once outside, "She thinks he is nice, so maybe we can find someplace to cuddle for a bit?"

"She's something," Rhost agrees, neglecting to specify further.

Rhost looks into his nearby bottle, which seems to have become empty.

Melinda:
On the Way to Meet Rhost

While you are searching for Rhost around and about Ul-Angorn, Ameiko suddenly asks, "Did you ever meet Sandru's half-brother, Alder? You probably didn't, he wasn't raised in Sandpoint."

Kyrademon/Rhost:
If Rhost and Ameiko let her get away with it, Mel will cast the following:
Shocking Image (Mel)
Cat's Grace (Mel/Ameiko)

Male Human Cleric 10

Rhost's Visit:
There is a long silence after Rhost's last statement. Then, the buzzsaw of a snore from the bunk.

Male Human Cleric 10

Zaiobe:
When Zaiobe returns, Alaric comfortably pillows himself on her lap, turning only once to plant a kiss on her thighs. Then, the very serious business of reading.

Alaric nods toward the top of the wagon. "Wait them out up there. Tomorrow, we go out on the ice."

Alaric:
Mel scrambles up to the top of the wagon, then makes sure that Alaric get up there as well. She sits, leaning back to see the stars. After a moment she smiles over at Alaric, offering her lap as a pillow.

Alaric gratefully settles in, looking up at the gigantic sky from the most comfortable pillow he can think of.

Zaiobe:
Mel smiles at Zaiobe. <I have some things planned. I got supplies for Alaric's favorite dish and a chocolate cake. I need to ask Rhost to help me cook both still.>

There is a moment when Mel's desire to have Alaric to herself on his birthday comes across crystal clear. "I know that Alaric would love to have both of us lavish attention on him on his birthday." She believes the words, she just isn't wholly happy about it.

<Sorry, Z.> She hugs the smaller woman. <Take my jealousy as a compliment to how hot you are?> her mental voice small and a little ashamed.

<Maybe...> she smiles hesitantly, <maybe if you could help me have some time alone with Alaric when he wakes up in the morning?>And then with a little more assurance, <And that evening... so that he can prepare lesser restoration... we can plan something really special for him together?>

Anyone nearby can read Lio's expression plainly. It's not quite, Rhost's you're crazy look, rather it's more of an... ::sigh:: Orcs. expression.

She's staying out of this one, and finds something to do, far away from the combatants. Maybe she goes shopping.
