The Matriarch |

Matriarch snaps her fingers and waves at TikTik. Hey! If I've told you once I've told you a thousand times. Pay attention to battle plans! When you don't is when that thing gets damaged and that oil crap you use is hard to clean up!

Vladimir Zarlatzkji |

Seeing the Matriarh address Tikkik, Vlad turns to the hydra. "Cephalon! Vould you like some more adventurers to chew on? Count to thirty vhen the Matriarch and I leave, then you and Tikkik take that door and go left. Sounds good?"

Cephalon |

Two of Cephalon's heads nod. "Right. Out the door and turn left."
"We should hurry. Adventurers don't stay in one place for long."
"And don't blame me if he gets it wrong!" one of his heads says, pointing at the kobold and his machine. "We all know he won't listen."

Vladimir Zarlatzkji |

Leave it to me to forget the layout of my own stronghold. I meant right.

Tikkik |

"HEY! I'm listening now at least. Just because I get a bit... involved in my work doesn't mean I can't pay attention. I just find my machines more interesting than idle prattle."
Tikkik climbed into his cockpit and got ready to go.

The Matriarch |

The Matriarch sighs. That kobold was so frustrating sometimes.
She holds out a hand to Vlad. Ready when you are, my dear.
Unless Vlad has his own conveyance, Matriarch will shift them both into the Ethereal and move to the far side of the new batch of Pathfin... I mean lunch.

GM_Almonihah |

Any further preparation before combat, or is it time to roll initiative?

Vladimir Zarlatzkji |

"At once, Matriarch." says Vlad, holding the hand and kissing it in mock chivalry.
I'm ready to fight, if they don't see or stop us I'm getting out of the Ethereal behind the Altar, hiding from them.
Stealth: 1d20 + 24 ⇒ (12) + 24 = 36

GM_Almonihah |

I realized I forgot to give Tikkik the result of his repair check. Sorry!
Damage repaired: 3d8 + 13 ⇒ (1, 2, 4) + 13 = 20
Apologies, but it's going to be Tuesday before I'm ready for this. The last couple of weeks have been very busy for me in the evenings when I was hoping to prepare this... but now I have my own Hero Lab license, which will make building up these adventurers much quicker.

Cephalon |

Cephalon bursts through the door and turns right, which was what Vlad clearly said before, and not the opposite of that, and starts crawling his way through the hallway towards the others.

GM_Almonihah |

The adventurers react as soon as Cephalon starts coming down the hall.
Cephalon Init: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21
Tikkik Init: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
Matriarch Init: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
Vlad Init: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26
Adventurers Init: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Sooo... you all go before them. :D These guys should be slightly more challenging, but probably not too dangerous yet.

Vladimir Zarlatzkji |

While Cephalon is squeezing through the corridor, Vladimir sneaks away from the Matriarch. When he believes that he's far away enough to avoid giving away her position or if he's spotted he fishes an eyelash covered in gum from his spell component pouch.
"Invisibility!"
Stealth (cover enough to skulk, I hope): 1d20 + 24 ⇒ (16) + 24 = 40

GM_Almonihah |

Apologies, I hadn't realized The Matriarch had already stated she's just waiting.
"For Gorum!" The four new adventurers shout. None of them seem to notice Vladimir and The Matriarch behind them.
The armored priest beats his chest once with his fist, then casts a spell on the fighter. The fighter readies his shield and warhammer and moves to block the passageway. The lightly armored elf nocks an arrow to his bow as he moves over, shooting past the others at Cephalon. The arrow bursts into flames at it leaves his bow.
Flaming arrow: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (3) + 19 = 22
It skips off of the hydra's tough scales without causing any real damage. The sorcerer moves over as well, chanting a spell that causes his allies to start moving more quickly.
The cleric from before moves to one side and continues healing herself. The other, formerly invisible person also moves to one side, quaffing something from a vial. Her form blurs, becoming hazy and indistinct.

GM_Almonihah |

Ah, sorry, same as the two times before--red is warrior, white is priest, black is light-armored archer, blue is mage

Vladimir Zarlatzkji |

What's the point of invisibility if they aren't even trying to find me? Bah.
Taking advantage of the clangor made by his colleagues, Vladimir sneaks behind the sorcerer, rapier ready to strike.
Stealth: 1d20 + 24 + 20 ⇒ (8) + 24 + 20 = 52
If the sorcerer casts a spell, moves or provokes in any other way, it's getting an attack of opportunity.
AoO: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (15) + 12 = 27
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

Cephalon |

Cephalon continues to squeeze down the hall. He nearly makes it to the heavily armored one, stopping ten feet away from him. The warrior won't be able to get close enough to attack him without leaving himself open to attack.
Can't get close enough to attack, but ready to AoO if he closes in.

GM_Almonihah |

Is The Matriarch taking any actions, or is she waiting still?

The Matriarch |

Sorry
The Matriarch whispers to her eggs, and her eggs respond. They attempt to hijack the first cleric's nervous system and force her to do the Matriarch's bidding!
Cleric makes a will save vs domination at a -4. I think the DC is 19. If she fails, she casts her most powerful buff on the party. If no buffs remain in her highest spell level, she will cast her best offensive spell at the target most likely to fail the save

GM_Almonihah |

Will save vs. Mind-affecting: 1d20 + 17 - 4 ⇒ (15) + 17 - 4 = 28
The cleric hesitates a moment, but her faith in Nethys gives her the strength to fight back the mental intrusion. She looks around, but sees no foe but Cephalon, so she targets him with a pillar of flame, aiming more for his hindquarters based on the sounds coming from behind him.
Flame strike: 10d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 1, 5, 4, 5, 5, 1, 5, 5) = 34 DC 21 reflex for half, it just barely reaches Tikkik as well.
As one, the warrior and the priest shout, "For Gorum!" and charge headlong at the hydra. Go ahead and get an attack of opportunity on each one, remember the -4 for squeezing They both attack Cephalon's body.
Warpriest smash: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (8) + 17 = 25
Fighter smash: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (14) + 22 = 36
Damage: 1d8 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12
The priest's attack glances off the armored hydra, but the fighter's hammer blow bruises Cephalon.
The sorcerer, meanwhile, casts a spell, only to find himself stabbed from behind. He struggles to keep his focus.
Concentration check: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (6) + 17 = 23
He just barely holds onto it, stumbling forward to touch the archer... who promptly disappears. You can probably recognize he cast greater invisibility His arrows, however, quite visibly fly towards the now-visible Vladimir.
Rapid fire arrow manyshot: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (7) + 22 = 29
Arrow 2: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (5) + 22 = 27
Arrow 3: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (13) + 22 = 35
Arrow 4: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (19) + 17 = 36
Total Damage: 4d8 + 32 + 4d6 ⇒ (1, 7, 5, 5) + 32 + (1, 3, 5, 6) = 65
Additional sneak attack damage, unless you can see invisible or are immune to sneak attacks somehow: 9d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 6, 2, 1, 1, 3, 3, 3) = 24
The other lightly-armored woman steps over and fires a crossbow bolt at Cephalon.
Crossbow shot: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (5) + 13 = 18
It skips off of him harmlessly.

Vladimir Zarlatzkji |

Vladimir staggers under the arrows that pierce him, but his unholy nature already starts repairing the damage. "Ow! Bad timing! Cephalon, CHARGE!" he yells.
Total damage is 89, minus 10 DR and fast healing 5.
Taking measure of the place the arrows came from, he flashes a horrifying toothy grin at his opponents. "Fear!"
Will DC 20 or panicked. 30'feet cone, should take the sorcerer, archer, alchemist (black square) and possibly the cleric.
He then steps forward, covering behind the sorcerer.
Eventual AoO if he moves or casts: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (15) + 12 = 27
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Critical confirm: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (15) + 12 = 27
Critical damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Three 15-2 in a row? Weird.

The Matriarch |

The matriarch, seeing that her powers have failed her, charges the Sorceror!
attack: 1d20 + 22 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 22 + 2 = 29
possible grab: 1d20 + 26 ⇒ (7) + 26 = 33
charge damage: 1d4 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13
possible constrict: 1d6 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13

Cephalon |

Damage: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 5) + 6 = 15
Snatch: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (6) + 14 = 20
The warpriest actually would have hit me, because squeezing is -4 to AC as well as attack.

Tikkik |

Reflex Save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
"Gah! I just fixed that melty spot! When I get in there, you'll be sorry! If Cephalon hasn't eaten all of you first..."
Tikkik backs up some to get out of future area-of-effects.

GM_Almonihah |

Ah, right, I forgot that squeezing affects AC, too.
Warpriest damage: 1d10 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17
Somewhat to his surprise, Cephalon fails to hit either of his targets. Or rather, he hits them, but finds that their enchanted armor gives no purchase for his teeth.
Sorcerer Will: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
Archer will: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Alchemist will: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19
The sorcerer's eyes go wide with terror, just in time for the Matriarch to charge and seize him, starting to crush the life out of him. The alchemist seems affected, as well. Cleric was just out of it.
I need your actions for the round now, Cephalon. Also, Vladimir, since your target is now not likely to be moving from his square, would you like to do something else?

Cephalon |

Despite the massive gashes in Cephalon's body, he seems barely fazed. Only seconds later, the wounds have already begun to heal.
Total damage: 29 >> 19
He lashes out wildly at the fighter, switching over to the warpriest if his current target falls.
Attack: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (16) + 12 = 28

Snatch: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (14) + 14 = 28

GM_Almonihah |

To his great surprise, none of Cephalon's many attacks penetrate the fighter's armor. The huge beast feels too constrained by the tight space, unable to properly apply his full strength.
The fighter, unconcerned about what's going on behind him, continues hammering at the hydra in front of him, arms moving distressingly fast as he strikes.
Hammer 1: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (16) + 22 = 38
Hasted Hammer: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (7) + 22 = 29
Hammer 3: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (15) + 17 = 32
Damage: 3d8 + 33 ⇒ (4, 7, 5) + 33 = 49
All three blows strike true. The warpriest shouts another "For Gorum and glorious battle!" and continues attacking with his polearm. Anyone with good spellcraft would recognize that he's using a warpriest ability to enhance his weapon
Bec de corbin attack 1: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (10) + 19 = 29
Hasted attack: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (4) + 19 = 23
Attack 3: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (2) + 14 = 16
Damage: 1d10 + 12 ⇒ (1) + 12 = 13
Only his first attack strikes home, however.
Terrified out of his mind, the sorcerer struggles in The Matriarch's grip, but doesn't stand a chance of escaping. A bow suddenly appears on the ground, rattling as if dropped, and the possibly-alchemist bolts for the other exit to the room.
The cleric of Nethys sidesteps slightly and calls down a pillar of holy fire, aimed so that it just barely excludes the sorcerer.
Flame strike: 10d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 6, 5, 2, 6, 2, 5, 3, 6) = 38 Reflex DC 21 for half

Vladimir Zarlatzkji |

"Aaaargh, burn marks on the stone vill be hell to clean up!"
Vladimir strides towards the entrance occupied by the large hydra. "I'll have the corridors videned vhen I restructure, but now come inside! You're blocking Tikkik! And you, fighter guy, attack the priest."
Dominate on the fighter, Will 22
"There is an invisible archer somevhere around, he's frightened but dangerous, be vary."

GM_Almonihah |

Soo... what are people waiting on? To see if the dominate works?

GM_Almonihah |

Will save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
The fighter's eyes glaze over.

Cephalon |

Total Damge: 98 >> 88
Cephalon howls in pain as the pathfinders' mighty blows manage to harm him. He would never accept defeat, of course, but perhaps it was time to back away and give his wounds a moment to heal.
He carefully backs away, out of the room, until he bumps into Tikkik's mech.
Withdrawing. Cephalon does not intend to fight to the death today, not when he's in real danger.

Tikkik |

"HEY! What are you doing backing up? How am I supposed to get in there and smash things NOW!?"
Tikkik attempts to move past/over Cephalon. If he can't, he'll back around the corner to let the hydra past so that he can get in front.

GM_Almonihah |

Tikkik can't fit around the Many-Headed Lord's massive body, at least not in the W.M.D.
The alchemist continues running until he goes around the corner. The fighter obediently gets out of Cephalon's way into the room. The sorcerer continues to struggle futilely against The Matron.
The cleric of Nethys backs up and casts a spell, then shouts, "Drop what you hold!" Both The Matron and Vladimir must make DC 21 Will saves to avoid dropping anything in their hands. Let me know if I need to roll against SR.
The crazy cleric shouts, "Glorious Battle!" and charges at Cephalon.
Charge attack, unless Cephalon's attack of opportunity snatches him: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (4) + 21 = 25
Damage: 2d10 + 12 ⇒ (4, 1) + 12 = 17

Cephalon |

Attack of Opportunity: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (4) + 12 = 16
Damage: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 1) + 6 = 10
Snatch: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (2) + 14 = 16
If this doesn't do it, I'm down to exactly one hit point.

The Matriarch |

will: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (7) + 12 = 19

grab4: 1d20 + 26 ⇒ (12) + 26 = 38
constrict: 1d6 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
Full attack. If an attack hits, grab. If grabs 1,2 or 3 succeed do constrict damage and free action drop. Grab 4 is maintained if the caster is still alive. Maximum 93 damage if everything hits.
The magic releases the caster before the Matriarch can resist. She hisses in fury and steps to tear her target to shreads instead!

Vladimir Zarlatzkji |

"Hah! Trying to force your vill on ME? You vill regret this insolence! Varrior, protect the hydra!" Vladimir bellows melodramatically. Dropping the rapier, he pounces on the cleric, slapping her with superhuman violence.
Slam Attack, Charge: 1d20 + 11 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 11 + 2 = 25
Damage, Arcane Strike: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9 and 2 negative levels
My AC is 26 for the next round

Tikkik |

"Well FINALLY!"
Tikkik drives his dragon around the corner, and attacks the cleric with its jaws of steel.
Bite: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (15) + 18 = 33
Damage: 2d8 + 16 ⇒ (8, 6) + 16 = 30
He also decides to match this cleric's war cries with one of his own.
"FOR SCIENCE!!"

GM_Almonihah |

The Matriarch tears the sorcerer apart, leaving him quite dead. The fighter chases after the Gorumite cleric.
The cleric of Nethys stumbles back, quickly casting another spell. A brilliant arrow shoots out from her hand and strikes Vladimir... doing absolutely nothing. (Arrow of Law doesn't affect lawful targets)
The warpriest swings his bec de corbin, hammering at the W.M.D.
Attack 1: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (12) + 21 = 33
Attack 2: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (14) + 19 = 33
Attack 3: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (16) + 14 = 30
Damage: 1d10 + 20 ⇒ (1) + 20 = 21
Damage: 1d10 + 20 ⇒ (1) + 20 = 21
Two of his strikes hit home. His attacks don't penetrate your DR

Tikkik |

"WHY YOU!... I'LL CRUSH YOU FLAT FOR THOSE DENTS! AND THEN BURN WHAT'S LEFT FOR FUEL! AFTER GRINDING IT INTO LITTLE BITS!"
Clearly enraged by the state of damage his dragon is in, Tikkik directs it in a ferocious attack.
BITE!: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (11) + 15 = 26
damage: 2d8 + 25 ⇒ (5, 2) + 25 = 32
Claw!: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (3) + 15 = 18

Wing!: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27
damage: 1d6 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15
He then quietly pops open his cockpit and takes a potshot with his own pistol, hoping to surprise the warpriest with the attack.
Laser pistol: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Stealth to catch warpriest off guard: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16
Sneak Attack damage: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 4) = 12
Pistol attack is touch. Sneak attack inflicts Debilitating Injury if successful. Tikkik is now exposed.

GM_Almonihah |

I'm going to say that opening your cockpit is a standard action, so you can't quite manage that.

Vladimir Zarlatzkji |

Vladimir looks at his chest with a disconcerted look. "I must say, I'm disappointed. Veren't clerics supposed to be good at fighting the undead?"
He then steps forward, slapping her again. "And I don't enjoy fighting vomen! I vas born for romance, banquets and a nice, cushy office job! But no, I am a vampire and I can't vork honestly! You made me the monster I am!"
Slam attack: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31
