"That was most certainly impressive. Hey, i thought you were looking at one of those scrolls there with those pretty pictures of crystals on it? Not that interesting in the end then?" he asks Saliger

"Ahh, well, its a little to rich for me. I only have an assistant teachers salary, its not a lot. I kind of think they were ripping me off anyway. I need to save some capitol anyway to make more scrolls with. Myabe i should set up a shop here, at these prices I could make a killing..." Saliger says unable to hold eye contact.

Xzavier has the cash on him, but he still has to meet with E who might have a tome for him.

"You do not think you can lower the price for a scholar of secret arts, and a professor at the University? I might be able to offer a reduced tuition cost if you know a person that you would like to attend."

Jerall hands the man 50gp and takes the scroll, shaking the vendor's hand and telling him warmly, "Thank you, the University appreciates your generosity." He moves over to where Xzavier and Dr. Crane and whispers, "I'm going to speak to a man, Kipp. They say he may know where this Mr. E fellow may be."

He steps out of the room, back to the courier his lady-friend pointed out to him. "A few associates and myself received notes from a Mr. E. We'd like to have a word with him?"

Jerall's lady friend, now very drunk responds to his question by first wrapping her arms around his neck and uncomfortably for Jerall places her body weight on him, she then slurs Eyes told you Mystery ain't here. If I'm right, there was the book that would take some decoding, and there was the scroll with the many languages and the crystal drawings on it. Saliger wanted the one with the pictures on it, and Xzavier was referring to the coded book.
Jerall picked up the scroll with the pictures that Saliger wanted, but Xzavier was talking to the vendor about the coded book, which is still there

Jerall shrugs "I don't know who Mr. E is. It's a mystery to me, so it could be you, but wouldn't that be too simple? I wanted to ask if there was anything in particular that E felt would be of interest to us university types, or was it a general invite to the Bazaar in general. I'm sure my coworkers would me plenty interested." Jerall says, rubbing his fingers together in the gesture for money.

saliger:
The only name that could even fit the descriptions of Mr. E. would be a washed up grad student by the name of Exetor. Between the Black Market and the man behind the curtain act. It fits his style. Only problem is he left one day, disappeared, no trace, and no one has heard from him in quite some time. His motives would are too unreliable as he floats around like a leaf in the wind, or a pesh addict looking for a score.

Liberty's Edge

Male Blue Wizard(Divination)/Psion(Seer) 1 PS I know everything

Saliger looks around at his companions and gathers them all around. It looks as if a flash of inspiration has finally come to him. "Do you remember that lad Exetor from the college? I don't know why I didn't see it, but I think there is a fair chance that he is the the Mr. E we are seeking. I know he just disappeared one day, but maybe that was to involve himself in this new persona. I bet one of the other students would know. I say we go investigate with them, maybe we could even offer a little extra credit to someone who can point us the right way." finishes Saliger, looking to Xzavier for an ok on bribing students with grades. Saliger winks slyly.

Dark Archive

Not sure what kind of check it would be to recall what sort of work Exetor did... so a raw memory check

Returning to the market area, Jerall finds Alan. "Good fight, there. I caught the tail end of it tho." he says with a smile.
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (10) + 12 = 22 to further improve the attitude of the students.

"So there's quite a few students around, any other denizens of the university about?, old faces and such?" Jerall asks. He steers the conversation with the students to get information about Exetor.

sorry, no you do not see E anywhere around here.

I am waiting for Xzavier to post if he wants the book before I move on

Your conversation with Kipp and the other students is cut short when you see four men repelling down ropes from the ceiling and Constable Tarathel busts through the front door with six more men armed with various guns. He shouts Everyone, This is an illegal market, you will all be arrested and processed!

Everyone splits and starts making a break for it. The students run off in a group, others try and fight the deputies, and one even takes flight with the rest of his men.

Start by the round by using diviners fortune 1d20 ⇒ 2. Ok I will not be using that roll;) I'm assuming that was the surprise round, and my forewarned ability allows me to act in the surprise round.

Saliger, always a step ahead trys to stay out of sight and out of mind 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (13) + 13 = 26 and starts summoning an augmented fiendish eagle to help draw distraction while looking for any other exits that look to be the best to escape from: perception 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20.

Liberty's Edge

Also want to start this round with Diviners Fortune 1d20 ⇒ 9

If there is no decent alternative route for escape Saliger is going to command his eagle to fly through the guards at the entrance way causing a diversion, making it fly the opposite way than I am passing. Saliger is going to try and stay as out of sight as possible and walk through during the distraction, while getting out a scroll of vanish and a scroll of disguise self in case things go poorly.

If he notices an alternate route, I will likely take a different set of actions.

wow, that's pretty awful...

Dr. Crane decides that he'd rather not end up in a jail cell could he help it, especially since he has a reputation to uphold. Though he could probably buy his way out of the charge, it would be a large waste of valuable research time. It is at this point he decides to follow Jerall and look for a way out.

Perception 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

...wow...the exact same roll...there is a disturbance in the force

Lantern Lodge

Sorry for the delay

The law enforcement agents burst in the doors and slide down the ropes. They were a reinforced leather and most carry shotguns. They all are wearing helmets that have gasmasks on them. On queue they all throw vials into the crowd. Among the shock and awe your here breaking glass, followed by a thick almost viscous cloud of a yellowish-orangish cloud arise from the location of the vials.
Please make a FORT save

There are several routes being taken by the intrepid customers here. Some are trying to bull rush right through the agents, so are heading for the backrooms, other more atheletic are climbing the ropes and cage to go for the roof. Some are risking the 20 ft. fall from rear windows. And then there are those who simply raise their hands and wait to be apprehended.

Fortitude Save=1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20

All right, so assuming that is good enough I am joining the group who is rushing the group at front, having my summoned eagle distract the ones closest to the side of the door I am trying to get through. I am going to try and stay lost with in the crowd, and cast vanish from my scroll going through the largest gap I can find (invisible as well for this action).

So I have invisibility, my bird and the crowd, hope to get by.

Diviners Fortune: 1d20 ⇒ 17

Saliger, wishing that he could fly, continues on through the door and takes the default option of running through the constables with the rest of the crowd, getting ready to unleash a color spray if the need is there. Saliger wishes his damn eagle was still around.

Lantern Lodge

Male

Archibald Crane takes 1d6 ⇒ 5 in Nonlethal Damage from the bumps and bruises of squeezing through the doors with the rest of the herd. Dr Crane and Jerall are in the courtyard and face the same choices as Saliger did before hand.

Xzavier remains in the club. [ooc]I know he said his internet access is limited but if he doesn't respond by this weekend. I will assume that he has been taken into custody. [/dice]

Saliger after squeezing through and taking another 1d6 ⇒ 5 nonlethal damage you see the crowd doing several things. Some are running straight down the street while others are dipping into the alleys. Others are climbing to the rooftops and running, and yet others are taking to the sewers for their avenue of escape.
