Merry: +2 AC 2; rounds
Innis curses as Him'Wazir falls to the ground having lost control of his body. Her blessing abandons Him'Wazir as she focus' on her fellow sister who up until now has been seized by mischance. Merelda receives a true Blessing of the Faithful but it is up to her to slay her own enemies...
"Hurry up and kill this thing!" Innis hisses at Merelda.
Nicias
|
Seeing the Immolation the creatures dissolves into, Nicias shouts out,
"Fire! They succumb to fire!"
Turning to see how they fare against the creature at the other end of the party, Nicias sees that Him is on the floor. Quickly he pulls out another of his specials, mixes the volatile liquid and throws.
ranged touch attack, bomb[/dice: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
damage if hits: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
As usual, Nicias will angle the attack to miss his allies
GM Aumakua
As Nicias throws his vial it's contents explode on the creature causing it to topple over into the flowing sewer water.
End of Combat
Innis
Innis moves carefully along the walkway and inspects Him'Wazir's condition. She attempts to help stabilize him if she can.
Heal: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 7 + 1 = 15
Merelda "The Widow" Widdomeria
Letting the other work on the poor swordsman, Merelda will start to carefully examine one of the skeletal remains with her dagger.
"What are these things? Walking diseases? Did they die by sneezing to death? Fire seems to be effective at killing them at least."
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
Heal(Investigation): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Knowledge(Religion): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
"The more we know now the better we are prepared next time. Will Him be OK?"
GM Aumakua
The toxins quickly off Him and he finds himself able to move his limbs as you gather about him.
The undead creatures yield no more information but from your examination Merelda the bones seemed brittle almost as if they were decaying in the slime that covered them. It is rather difficult to find out more as the corpses have are damaged ratherly badly from the alchemist fire and Nicias' special 'cocktails'.
The passage continues south before you all and while tired and low on resources you are not sure the safety of resting here in this passage. Kirzon looks at his map and it indicates there should be a junction ahead it is difficult to determine how long it will take as the map is not drawn to scale.
Him'Wazir nar Maekra
Him effects a great yawn and stretch, "Ah, I see I was correct and you had it handled, a very refreshing nap. Well let us go on!" Despite his bravado he cannot help, but wince as he regains his feet and begisn striding forward.
Merelda "The Widow" Widdomeria
So we have 1 potion of CLW, one scroll of CLW and a single Healing kit (10 charges?) as backup healing beyond our normal spell-casting for the day.
What do we do, heal Him against his wishes, or continue?
I'm tired of the debate. I just want to get going to the next part.

Merry +2 Skills & ability checks
Innis sighs and shakes her head at Him'Wazir's comment. Although heavily uncomfortable on the narrow passageway motions for the group to halt a moment before resuming their journey beneath the city calling Kirzon, his "pet snake" & Him'Wazir to stand before her. She holds up an ornate silver symbol of three daggers and channels energy to heal their wounds.
Channel: 1d6 ⇒ 4
She holds a blessing of fortune close as the group continues down the passage.
Merelda "The Widow" Widdomeria
"Excellent work Innis, let's get moving."
Updated map to show our movement further along the path for what its worth. Rapier and a loaded Hand Crossbow to hand again.

"Oh and here I was just starting to think you liked the color red for all you get painted up."
GM Aumakua
The south tunnel continues to lead passed these side tunnels on the west side. Without the walkway forcing you along the eastern wall you have a strong feeling that those side tunnels would confuse even the most skilled cartographers and engineers. Still unsure how long it might take to reach this junction you keep heading south. You do your best to think of others things as you battle both the stench of the sewers and each feverish step but you can feel your pace slow.

Nicias
|
Pulling out a special vial, Nicias quickly quaffs it and then undergoes a rapid transformation, his arms lengthening slightly and fur sprouting from his body, giving him a slightly simian appearance.
Nicias invokes his Mutagen. He gains +4 Dex and -2 Wis for 20 minutes
Him'Wazir nar Maekra
"I fear I will not be of much use against a swarm of spiders... I suppose I could leap over them and try to draw them away? I have a scroll that can lend me great fleetness of foot, so out distancing them should be possible... But that does not sound much of a plan... Any ideas?" Him says eyeing the darkness apprehensively.
Lililinda
Lililinda has been unusually quiet ever since the fight with the skeletons.
At the mention of spiders, she pulls out her wand.
Him'Wazir nar Maekra
Hate to say it Lililinda, but spiders are going to be immune to Color Spray as in Pathfinder all insects, archnids, etc., count as mindless and are thus immune to mind effecting spells. Colour Spray is an awesome, but situational spell.
Innis
"If we hurry there a place we can escape the swarm!? Else I suggest torches if we must ward them off." Innis suggests while looking around for anything in the environment that could be of use.

"I am not one to suggest retreat normally, and I am no tactical expert, but I say we run for it.
We have little in the way to help here and can only waste further resources on combat with such vermin.
I say pour some alchemist's fire on the ground to delay them and see if we can outdistance them for now or
find someplace safer to fight. We need to start being smarter about all of this."

ROUND 1
As you prepare for swarm of spiders Kirzon calls them out to be about 40 feet away.
Him and Merelda. Your Turn.
Merelda "The Widow" Widdomeria
Putting her Crossbow away she draws her single vial of alchemist's fire and preps it in case she needs it.
"Please, these things are very poisonous! They are virtually immune to weapons! Your wand won't help either
Lililinda! We would need flashy area effect attacks like Fireball spells or a lot more of Nicias' bombs!"
Move action, put away cross bow. Standard action, pull alchemist's fire and ready it. Free action to speak.

Merelda: Alchemist fire has a range increment of 10 when will you throw it at the swarm
OK, I figured something like that. I was kinda waiting to see if the others wanted to run for it first, but I guess not. I would toss it when they are at least 5 feet from Kirzon in the back if I can to avoid hitting him if I miss.
GM Aumakua
The carpet of spiders rush enmasse along the stone walkway and as they near Kirzon, Merelda throws her vial of alchemist fire to meet their charge.
Merelda make your attack.
Him'Wazir nar Maekra
I think we are too slow to make a real break for it, and there is not really anywhere to break off for ages. Time for the alchemist to shine :)
Merelda "The Widow" Widdomeria
With a quick prayer to Calistria, Merelda hurls the vial at the leading edge of the swarm in an attempt to hurt and slow the swarm's progress!
Alchemist's Fire RTA: 1d20 + 4 - 6 ⇒ (15) + 4 - 6 = 13
Alchemist's Fire Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1
I have no idea if that hit. If it didn't then:
Splash Weapon Actual Hit Location: 1d8 ⇒ 8
Is that the wall I hit? -Sorry for the late post guys, the power went out at work! Had to get home to post.
Nicias
|
The spiders do not appear to have moved on the map. Assuming they are now in sight, Nicias will throw a bomb, otherwise he will hold an action until they are in sight
Preparing another concoction of volatile liquids, Nicias throws another bomb at the onrushing mass
ranged thrown attack, bomb: 1d20 + 4 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 4 + 2 + 2 = 28 +2 for mutagen, +2 for blessing
damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11 sweet
6 pts splash damage to all enemies within 5'
Merelda "The Widow" Widdomeria
I went ahead an advanced the spiders to the location where I attacked them.
GM Aumakua
Sorry all been a busy couple of days. Let's update what has occured. The swarm would have moved into Kirzon and Boros' squares especially after Merelda's attack.
Merelda's throw sails too far and the vial smashes against the far wall bursting into flames but affecting nothing.
The spiders unaffected by the flame swarms over Kirzon and Boros. You both take 1d6 ⇒ 5 points of damage
Please make a Fortitude check DC 11 vs poison
Ok Nicias and group. Nicias' attack can be a direct hit on the swarm this will mean that Kirzon gets hit as well by the alchemist bomb since they are occupying the same square. Using your precise bomb you can make sure that Boros does not get hit. Prior to choosing this you still need to roll to confirm your crit.
Merelda "The Widow" Widdomeria
Crap! That was my only vial of Alchemist's Fire! We can light torches, but I don't have a cantrip or tindertwig to ignite them!
We may have to run or go for a swim ladies and gentlemen!--EDIT I have a thought! GM, are there any exposed pipes or stanchions running along the ceiling of the tunnel at all? Something I could attach my whip to and do an Indiana Jones kinda thing?
Merelda "The Widow" Widdomeria
ACH! No Fun! Not fair! Grumble...Grumble... OK! Does anybody have anything they could pull from their @$$ on this?
I rather not have to have Nicias bomb everybody as the spiders climb over us, but that looks like what we have happening unless we want to go for a swim!
Him'Wazir nar Maekra
I assume that given that Nicias would simply ready or delay until Kirzon and Boros are clear, even if they fail their saves they can move. Swarms also take +50% damage form splash weapons so Nicias likely kills it in one hit even if he fails to confirm.
Kirzon
As Him said, Nicias would clearly wait until the swarm is clear before lobbing the bomb.
Fort Save Kirzon: 1d20 + 5 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 5 + 3 = 26
Fort Save Boros: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Kirzon and Boros take 5 damage each but save vs poison.
Fort Save vs Distraction, Kirzon?: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Fort Save vs Distraction, Boros?: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Boros flees well off the map south. Kirzon heads in the opposite direction. He readies to hurl his alchemist's fire should Nicias's fire not finish the job.
Alchemist's Fire if needed: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14; Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2
GM Aumakua
Good point Him. Let's conclude!
Nicias, now in a slightly brutish form, hurls his vial and as it hits the spiders you watch as the swarm immediately disperses leaving hundreds of twitching corpses.
With the threat of the swarm taken care of you gather yourselves. Both mentally and physically exhausted you are not sure how wise it would be to rest along this walkway. Kirzon still is confident that there is a junction point ahead.
