"Not my fault dese tinks ain't normal."

Whether he missed the teasing tone in Vertielle's voice or if the child-wraiths had unnerved the normally battle-hungry Gkirkhan that much isn't clear. What is clear is that he's not in the mood for jokes.

I wansn't sure if there were two perception rolls being asked for, so I went ahead and rolled twice.

Zhiden kept his swords sheathed, there was no sense in drawing them when his swings would go through the enemy. He pulled the vial of holy water from his backpack, it wasn't hard, it was already on the top. He approached the ghost, uncorked the vial, and then turned it over, pouring it on the enemy.

Damage: 2d6 ⇒ (3, 4) = 7

Wood takes a deep breath at the cold touch.

"Ooh, you'll pay."
Wood steps back five feet, allowing his friends to step in front of him, and opens a dimensional portal.
Celestial dog on the way--full round casting.
"Keep her away from me."

AC 21b - 11t - 20ff; HP: 44/44; PP: 2/2

Rova, thinking quickly, scoops up a handful of holy water from the font (he's got really big hands), and taking a step or two, douses the rather impetuous child-wraith..

RTA (holy water): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Damage: 2d4 ⇒ (4, 1) = 5

"Git yer unholy *&%* from this holy place, ya *&^*%"

Really reminds you that Rova might not be a good choice for babysitting.. Still, the impromptu baptism inflicts some damage.

Male hp 19/36; AC 21/14/19 Level 5 Burglar

Oh yeah, I think mine was supposed to be 2d4 too. Also, just for curiosity, if Zhiden knew the pool was holy water, and dipped his sword in it, would that be like a ghetto ghost touch, or would it just be a flashier way of doing what Rova just did?

DM Ninja/infinite

No, Zhiden, you would need to toss at least an ounce or more onto the creature. Just dipping a weapon in it will not help. Yes, 2d4, but since both rolls were under I'll keep it this time. (Think of it as an early holiday gift.)

Round 1:
Rachel: attacks Wood
Gkirkhan: swings and misses
Zhiden: douses child-wraith in Holy Water
Rova: doused child-wraith in Holy Water

Sorry, Vertielle. I don't know how I missed that.

Male hp 19/36; AC 21/14/19 Level 5 Burglar

"Not to bring up a topic that's already passed, but what makes this kind of undead worse than all the others?" Zhiden said, fishing another bottle of holy water from his pack. He threw it at the ghost's feet.

To hit: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12
Damage: 2d4 ⇒ (4, 4) = 8

DM Ninja/infinite

Imrijka speaks up. "Not worse now, but were created by full wraith. Must find and destroy it before more are made. Wraiths drain energy and if victim dies, become like this and controlled by full wraith. But, if full wraith slain before these are, these become full wraith. Were six children slain by creature. Must find, destroy first, then find source and destroy!"

She looks very angry. "Want find this master wraith. It target children not adults. Vile more than normal!"

Female Assimar (with Ulfen blood) Cleric(Theologian) 4 / Monk(Spirit Master) 2

"You don't know how much I agree with you on that Imrijka."

The wizard nods at the moral discussion, then gets down to business.

He creates a celestial dog opposite the wraith, invoking the badge of the warden to make the dog a true ghost-hunting dog (2/3 metamagic charges left). The dog charges, flanking with Rova (or any other ally) and moves to deliver a massive ghost-busting bite.

And as Eva reaches out to offer healing to the poor innocent, her sobs fade, as she smiles and dissolves into her final rest.

Imrijka sighs. "Good work. Still have more, though. Search records here, find where others wait. Most likely, from what said, their homes. Then fine this 'Brother Spawn'."

You do not ever want her to look at you with that expression.

"Find bottles, take this holy water with us. Hm. Spells limited. Want save one for main wraith."

She looks at Zhiden "You good with bow? If so, use my shortbow. Magic. Will help."

She looks at the others. "Wait till locate next child-wraith before cast. Others hit from range first, then we move in to melee. Rush to next home before wear off. Repeat. Save special arrows for Brother Spawn as well."

She turns to Eva. "Best to save channel til find main target. Use for emergency only."

"That's what I was planning on."

Male hp 19/36; AC 21/14/19 Level 5 Burglar

"Well, I don't know if I'd say I'm good with one, but I bet I could hit a target with one." Zhiden couldn't help but be impressed with the woman. She seemed to fight these horrors often enough that she had a familiar contempt for them. Zhiden presumed he would go insane long before that ever happened to him. Of course, there was the possibility that it had happened to her as well. . .

After hearing the fountain was holy water, he refilled the bottle he hadn't thrown and returned it to his pack, and then got to looking for more.

If Wood wasn't carrying a torch for a mage named Kendra and worried about poaching in Gkirkan's territoty, he would be weighing his chances with the decisive inquisitor.

Rova also looks about for a flask or two.

Female Half-Elf Bard (Archivist) 5/ Pathfinder Chronicler 1 (hp 49/49; AC 18/14/14; 15/15 rounds)

Maybe the ground is no longer consecrated, or perhaps the spawn are not subject to deific power. In any case, we should check the rest of the houses.

Female Assimar (with Ulfen blood) Cleric(Theologian) 4 / Monk(Spirit Master) 2

"Checking the other houses sound like a good plan."

The wizard carefully empties out every bit of his liter waterskin and fills it up with the remainder of the holy water.

"Let's go. I want to put these evil creatures to bed in addition to sending them to their room."

DM Ninja/infinite

You are able to obtain 4 doses of holy water from the font.

After about a half-hour of research, you can locate the homes of the remaining children.

Gaard and Maarten's homes were on the left/western side of town, Gaard being the son of the tanner and Maartin's home the one directy behind #7.

Elsa and Alan both lived on the right/eastern side of town. Elsa's home is the unnumbered L shaped one and Alan lived in the noteren one directy behind #6.

Let me know who you're going for first.

I thought I posted the one I'd numbered all the houses in. Sigh.

Wood says, "Let's do the closest first."

We pick the closest

DM Ninja/infinite

That would be Alan, then.

As you approach the empty house, you see the form of a small boy sitting on the doorstep. As you approach, he rises and his little face takes on an aspect of rage as he movews to attack.

Male hp 19/36; AC 21/14/19 Level 5 Burglar

Did Imrijka give Zhiden the bow? If so what is the enchantment on it?

Zhiden watched long enough to note that he wasn't the obvious target. Good, he moved toward the angry ghost and drew his swords, attacking with the one that was already closest. He'd long since learned to avoid becoming a target, because it always seemed to make him do better, beyond the obvious perks of not getting hit. It had become such a habit to wait for someone else to make themselves a target, that he did it even now, against a creature that was almost certainly unaffected by his tricks.

Vertielle quietly slinks around the phantom, maneuvering both to block escape and to flank with Zhiden, whose confidence seemed much higher when there was less pressure on him in combat. Her flourish with her sword is obviously less about damaging the child and more about evading it's touch while distracting it.
