Oh, darn. I realize I forgot to mention that I activate Naturalist on my first turn, but, since it gives me a ten and Gkirkhan a three, kinda pointless... I suppose I'll just end it with finale and try not to fall on my butt.
Saving Finale Reroll Will 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14

Vertielle, on her turn, covers sleeping Gkirkhan in a layer of slippery graphite-like powder, hoping it'll dissuade the plant from seeing him as a morsel and make it harder for him to be drawn into its clutches. If that's not applicable, she instead resumes Naturalist.
Either way, she fastens herself onto the rope with a simple bowline harness over her shoulder.

The plant starts to move and slowly crawls down the wall toward Gkrkhan. 5' move
Wood's pony trots over and nips at the moving plant, then stomps on the vine itself.
Attack: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (15) - 1 = 14
Damage: 1d3 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Xtabay: HP 8-4=4
The plant on the northern wall is damaged, but not distroyed.
The plant on the south wall starts to -slowly- chase Evangline.

Breathe through a cloth when they release spores! Gkirkhan, aim for the lower tendrils, they'll be a little softer! Have the pony step on the buds, they'll be more susceptible to splitting, but watch out for the forelash, that's what it'll use to hunt. It may not be terribly accurate, but, don't let it catch you off guard...
I wonder if the spores from these creatures could be used as the arcane implements of a sleep enchantment...
Activate Naturalist, "any allies within 30 feet gain a +1 insight bonus to AC and on attack rolls and saving throws against exceptional, supernatural, and spell-like abilities used by creatures of that specific kind of monster".

@Vertielle: Once someone has been affected by the pollen, they ae immune to that particular plant's pollen for 24 hrs. I reviewed the past posts, Que is by X_N.
I need Evangline and Que's initiatives.
Xtabay combat stats: HP 8; AC 12/t12/ff10; melee 2 stings +0 1d3-1+ 12d acid
Xtabay_North: hp 8-4=4-3 (still up)
Xtabay_South: hp8
Round 2:
X_South moves 5' chasing Evangline
Gkirkhan is still out this round.
Wood wakes Gkirkhan
Wood's pony tramples the vine, destroying this one.
Attack_1: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2
damage_1: 1d3 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Attack_1: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (4) - 1 = 3
damage_1: 1d3 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Vertielle activates naturalist.
Vertielle Siepar
A)You both forgot Naturalist, its been active since my first turn, I just had to spend another action to keep it up.
Eva's attacks are 8 and 13; Que's is an 11.
You also gain insight bonus on AC and saves.
B) Doesn't Gkirkhan effectively delay while sleeping, waking and acting after Wood? Granted all he does is stand up, but nonetheless.
C) X_N was destroyed by pony?
Seeing that the combat goes well, Vertielle unslips her bowline and continues up the rope.
My move action is to Climb 1d20 ⇒ 8
The_Ninja_DM
Ok, so order is:
X_South
Que
Gkirkhan & Evangline
Wood & pony
X_North
Vertielle
Que missed with her swing, so the pony distroyed X_North.
Evangline hits X_South with her second strike.
X_South: HP 8-2=6
On it's move it strikes at her with its stings, connecting once.
Attack_1: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (14) + 0 = 14
Attack_2: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (17) + 0 = 17
damage_sting: 1d3 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0
damage_acid: 1d2 ⇒ 2
Wood the Wizard
The pony rushes to trample the last vine before disappearing back to the celestial plane. This is his last round to act.
Wood moves a comfortable distance away and launches an acid spray at the last vine.
I am confindent with Gkirkan back in action, the plants have little chance.
attack vs Touch 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (14) - 1 = 131d6 ⇒ 3
Vertielle Siepar
In an unusual show of prowess, Vertielle, having reached the roof, rolls onto her feet, dropping her bow into her palm deftly. A whistle in the air prefaces the thud of an arrow.
Attack 1d20 + 3 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (14) + 3 + 1 - 4 = 141d6 ⇒ 1
The_Ninja_DM
Between the pony and Gkirkhan the last plant is quite thoroughly dispatched.
Examination of the white spot that Evangline saw reveals a small skeleton, long dead. Amid the bones and strips of rotten leather, scattered as if they'd been searched before, you find some coins and a small gem.
Treasure: 24 gp, 3 pp, 1 small citrine
Vertielle Siepar
Haha, my one measly point of damage holds a very, very small candle to Gkirkhan's 14.
Vertielle examines the gargoyle, at long last, brushing herself off as she does so, and coiling her rope back into her pack.
Perhaps a grapple might be handy in the future...
Perception 20 + 7 = 27
KnEngineering 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Detect Magic
After quite a bit of time poking, prodding, and even sniffing the gargoyle to be sure it has divulged all it's secrets, she hops deftly down the vast height and lands lightly next to the group to identify the stone.
The_Ninja_DM
The stone looks like a cheap citrine.
As for the gargoyle; the head obviously came from this particular gargoyle. The break is surprisingly clean, too.
As you look areound before heading down from the roof-ledge, you can see that the western bacony seems more secure and intact than the eastern one. It's beginning to look like the fire was limited to the eastern portion of the prison, making it even odder that (from what the records implied) none of the bodies were ever recovered.
Vertielle Siepar
Vertielle mentions the disparity to Wood, hoping his knowledge of history might explain the phenomenon.
The break up there is clean, as if sheared. Poltergeist, perhaps?
Oh, what a lovely stone. That would make an excellent paperweight!
Wood the Wizard
"I think the success of the fire was overstated--the prisoners claimed to have been stopped probably escaped."
Let me see if these gargoyle have any arcane or historical significance.
Know History/Arcane 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (15) + 11 = 261d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11
"Gkirkan, want to accompany me. I seem to be fighting skeletons in hand to hand combat more than I'd like lately. I wouldn't want to add gargoyles to the list of things hitting at me today."
The_Ninja_DM
OK. Front door it is, then.
The front entry was once a wide hall flanked by a pair of waiting rooms, but the hall and easter room of this oldentry foyer are now in ruins. With little left to support the ceiling, the wooden beams above sag dramatically. The wall to the north contains large pair of oaken doors.
A casual examination reveals that the balcony above is unstable, though it doesn't seem in immediate danger of colapse.
The double doors lead to a 20' by 20' room, with streaks of mold staining the walls of this second foyer. The floor below your feet is a thick, gray carpet of fungal growth. You see sturdy, seemingly undamamged wooden doors beconing from every wall.
What door do you want to open next?
