*peeks in again*
Thanks again folks, happy (or as happy as can be given the circumstances) to be here. I've got the basics ready for Shieara here, just need to finish working on her background and get her profile formatted for better readability. I'll go ahead and ninja-dot Gameplay to get the game on my campaigns page!

Ah, a reach cleric and a Caydenite! Fun! Now... Was this character created as core? Not that it matters... We still have three characters who need to be fixed.
Oh, and you're a redhead too! All the women in this group are! We're the league of chaotic redheads.
Hmm

![]() |

Yeah, she's actually registered as a Core character :)
And redheads totally have more fun than blondes :3

![]() |

I'm pretty limited in my availability for posting at work these days, but could probably commit to checking/posting in the morning and at lunchtime... if others are okay with that, you'll get no objection from me!

![]() |

Oh no, I make this more difficult! I will be in Argentina from April 26th to May 2nd. I’ll probably be able to check in once a day, but probably not enough for a super speed game.

![]() |

Well, since our schedules don't line up perfectly (no great surprise), I say we get started, make what pace we can, and see where we are as May rolls around. If we've made enough progress that it makes sense to bot Garif through to the end, we'll do that. And if not - we'll do something else!

![]() |

That sounds good. I'll get my maps and stuff ready today and we can just roll into it as soon as this one's wrapped up.

![]() |

So Shieara will be joining up starting with Merchant's Wake, then? I should be able to do that, though I'll be out of town on a work training exercise April 15th through the 20th. I'll have my laptop and hopefully some free time in the evenings so I'll try and post when I can during that time :)

![]() |

If we're trying to get as much done before Garif is offline, then I'll get Merchant's Wake up and running this afternoon/evening.

![]() |

Okay, I'm at work until late tonight but I'll try and jump in as quick as I get a chance once you get us started :)

![]() |

Hey guys. I'm sorry I vanished for so long. Life is as always complicated.
Hmm tells me you're just about to start the next module, having completed Library of the Lion after finishing Stolen Heir. I would like to jump back in if that's OK with all of you. I know I'll be 1 XP behind; I'll make it up at some point by running an online VTT game for a GM credit.
I should say that when it is my turn to GM a game, I would rather do it VTT than PbP. I can make the commitment to keep up with one (or maybe two) PbP games, but I'm a little nervous about being responsible for GMing one, at least until life seems to relax quite a bit.

![]() |

Shall we run with seven for now, Dennis?
Hmm

![]() |

I rolled my day job here

![]() |

Welcome back Rob!
As I mentioned earlier I'm quite happy to give Rob his spot back. While I'm also happy to stick around if people don't mind running with 7, I promise there'll be no hard feelings on my end if the majority would prefer to run with 6 as you've been doing :)

![]() |

I don't mind running for 7, as long as everyone is ok playing at a table of 7.

GM Bret |

Library of the Lion chronicles.
Please let me know of any mistakes!
Reporting is also done. Strangely enough, it evidently doesn't check campaign type on the GM.

![]() |

I am fine with this group doing seven players.

![]() |

I am also okay with seven players. Rob, stay. Please. We want you back, and Lady Ladile is fun too.

![]() |

Noooo, this is your baby, please stay! Sounds like there's plenty of room for everyone :)

![]() |

This reminds me of an old (and not overly funny) joke about a medical miracle, wherein a woman is pregnant for many, many years without giving birth. When she finally dies at a ripe old age, her autopsy reveals that she's carrying two twins, who are saying "After you." "Oh, no, after you."
I, too, would be happy to play with seven players.

![]() |

By the way I'm working again today so it may not be until this evening before I can make a proper post.

![]() |

What's the current scenario, and how far in are you?
We started Merchant's Wake less than 24 hours ago.

![]() |

Merchant’s Wake, and not only did we just barely start, but Damiar addressed conversation to you, so you better respond!
:)
It started today!

![]() |

I'm heading out on vacation, and likely won't post until Sunday. Timing isn't great since we're just starting a new module, but I'll be back soon and ready to roll.

![]() |

So... We don't get to braid your hair?
Damiar is sad now.

![]() |

![]() |

Questions:
1) Do we know how many rounds we have overall?
2) Is Sense Motive free, or does it take a check?
3) If it is not free, will I need to use it so that we know what the alternate skills we can use are? I’ve had several scenarios with other characters where I never got to influence anyone because I had to serve as the Sense Motive person so that others knew what to do.

![]() |

Hey folks, just a reminder/note that I'll be heading out of town later today for a work training trip and won't be back until late on Friday the 20th. I'll have my laptop but the amount of free time I'll have to use it after today (Sunday) is uncertain so please go ahead and bot Shieara as needed; if I have enough time to check in and post I will (I expect I'll have at least a couple hours each evening before bedtime) but otherwise I'll catch up when I get home.
Oh and if I do end up with some free time my first posting priority will be to my GMed games so if you see posts from GM Ladile elsewhere but none here that'll be why. Hopefully that'll avoid any 'I SEE U POSTIN' Y U NO POST FOR <X> GAME!?!?' confusion :P

Welcome back!

![]() |

Iovo does have sleight of hand if we want to mess with either of the two -- Temel and Metella. Although it certainly sounds like fun, I'm really not sure we should.
She would be more inclined to do the sneezing powder in the snuff box because it is funny AND doesn't disrespect the dead. Stealing the notes would interfere with the remembrance, which I feel she would view as crossing the line into a mean prank. On the other hand, pranking Temel probably isn't the best way to make him friendly with the Pathfinder Society -- especially after having picked Metella for the trade goods.
To bad the chaotic and the good are not in alignment here. :)
What do the rest of you think?

![]() |

Hum...Shieara would agree; the sneezing powder prank would be funny but she'd not be particularly impressed with someone stealing speech notes. I mean, not everyone's a natural public speaker, you know?
It sounds like we've made some headway with each one but I remember the GM said that successfully influencing them all wasn't required so do we want to settle on maybe three of them to try and focus on now that we've got a little more information?

![]() |

Garif would probably support the sneezing powder, though mostly because he'd be curious if it's some sort of very finely ground talc or if it's a coarser silicate. And because it might be funny!
He would have to defer to someone a bit more nimble to actually deploy said powder - I expect Iovo would be up for the job.

![]() |

I don’t mind the idea of pranks. I love the sneezing powder. However, Damiar would feel odd about the idea of disrespecting the dead. As an elf, who’s already concerned about poor human lifespans (something that she knows intellectually but not internalized yet) the thought of disrupting a funeral is really repugnant. As a bard, stealing someone’s words seems like one of the most terrible crimes she can think of. However, she could see stealing Metella’s notes if she then replaced them with something better.
Ye Gods, that is tempting. :)
★ ---- ★ ---- ★ ---- ★
So... Damiar has skillz, and can pretty much wow everyone. Would you like for her to continue with Temel, or would you like her to spread her attentions elsewhere?
Tell me where you want me to go!
★ ---- ★ ---- ★ ---- ★
Here are things that I noticed of interest in these interactions:
Temel and Metella, unsurprisingly, are each out to prank the other. Metella seems depressed by Temel being there (big surprise) and wants him lighten up. Temel seems interested in causing trouble here.
Doritannia relaxed when she saw Damiar chatting up Temel, and spoke of debt. We know she fell on hard times. Not sure what that means yet, but there’s some kind of relationship between the two.
Pellius glanced at Metella, and spoke of wanting to expand his connections beyond Metella and the dwarves. So, what’s stopping him? Is there some sort of connection there? It sure looks like there’s something between them.
Jakti seems a bit of a jerk. Does he have any relationship here with anyone?

![]() |

Oh what the hell. I went back to Temel, mainly because I had to do Damiar’s reaction here!

![]() |

I kept on Pellius. I think pointing out Metella has worked with us may well cause him to be more interested.
I hope there isn’t a penalty for repeating the same checks. Sometimes there is.

![]() |

There is no penalty for repeating in this one.

![]() |

I would say we might want the last check to be with Metella. Could mention hearing she has a written speech and offer to have Damiar look it over, suggest possible improvements.
She could also says “the others mentioned you have some sort of business arrangement with the Society. Is that working to your satisfaction?”
