The remaining two hobgoblins go down, but one got away. It wont be long until more show up.

Searching the room you find a masterwork dagger on the table that was being used to cut meat. There are several plates of meat on the table and a game of dice. There is nothing else of interest in this room.

There is a door to the east which is the direction the runaway took. There is a doubledoor to the south and a door to the west.

In the next room are gathered three hobgoblins and an orc. The orc wears a bearskin cloak and has a long staff and one of the hobgolbins stand a foot and a half taller than the others and wields a falchion.

Focus on the Orc i will deal with the Hobgoblin Boss Says Gloin as the move to engage the Falchion wielding Hobgoblin.

Lilly's pull isn't too strong, but Kirana follows Lilly to the other room. She switches her axes for her bow while moving.

"Okay, I'll take the orc!" Kirana says, and shoots two arrows at it.

Gloin moves up and attacks the hobgoblin leader his attack connects and lands a very solid blow (20 damage).

Kirana shoots the orc with an arrow and misses with another.

Min moves up and attacks the hobgoblin chief as well but he misses.
Min attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 102d6 + 9 ⇒ (2, 5) + 9 = 16

Orc will save will: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19 The orc manages to resist the mental attack.

The chieftain flies into a rage and swings a powerful overhead chop at Gloin but Gloin manages to sidestep and avoid it.
flachion attack: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 202d4 + 9 ⇒ (1, 2) + 9 = 12

The orc moves into position behind the chieftain and cast a spell healing the chieftain for half the damage he took.
cure moderate wounds: 2d8 + 5 ⇒ (1, 4) + 5 = 10

The two hobgoblins moves on each side of the chief and attack Gloin and Min.

hobgoblin 1 attack Min: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 121d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

"Pew pew!" Kirana shoots two more arrows at the orc. She's not entirely sure where the first arrow flies off to, but the second arrow seems to move in the right direction.

Firebeard moved into the room and struck out at the nearest hobgoblin. His strike went wide as the hoblgoblin lurched backwards to avoid the blow.

Kirana misses, Gloin lands another hit on the chieftain, Lilly screams in such a fashion that the hobgoblin chief hesitates (become shaken). Firebeard lands a punch as well. The chieftain staggers having taken a lot of damage.

Min swings at the chieftain and lands a devastating blow finishing him off. attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 202d4 + 9 ⇒ (4, 4) + 9 = 17

The two remaining hobgoblins try to flee.

Provoking attacks from Min, firebeard and gloin and Min takes advantage of the chance to drop hobgoblin 2 as well.

So the orc's gone now, 'cause he was fleeing?


Correct the orc went out of the room and up some stairs.


I've been thinking and I decided I'm going to fast forward a bit here to get things moving at a better pace.

You chase the orc up the stairs but when you arrive there is no sign of him.

You fight a few more groups of hobgoblin but with the leaders slain the rest scatter and flee the fort.

The fort is yours.

Loot, Searching the fort you find the following:

On chieftain:

-magic ring (function unknown)

Armory:
-Spear
-Ranseur
-splint mail

-potion of hull's strength
-potion of cure light wounds

You can level up to level 3 also.

I will give you a chance to sort trough this and to level up and then we will continue from there.

Lilly looks at the magic ring. "Shiny....."

While looking at the rest her head begins to pulse and she holds it. (you know that type of pulsing headache)
Wobbly on her feet she hears voices in an unknown language....getting a vision of a cold emptyness (space) and something awful briefly flashes.
"Aaahh...."....cue the look of a paranoid person briefly.

Took revelation power:
Interstellar Void (Su): You call upon the frigid depths of outer space to bring a terrible chill to your enemies. As a standard action, one target within 30 feet is cloaked in the void and takes 1d6 points of cold damage for every oracle level you possess. A successful Fortitude save halves this damage.

After making sure the fort is clear you head out and return to Magnimar.

The trek takes a few hours and but is safe and you make it back to town.

From there you can go to the temple to seek out healing or go see lord Kyle to report your success.
