Ting Tang
|
ting looks back over his shoulder and says
Oy they's fresh lyke footy prints 'ear, you's blokes wants me ta foller 'em, and goes on' or does ya wants ta goes backs?
Alexos Virden
|
Hm... fresh tracks? I'd say that falls within our mission, given we do have missing bodies... though how they got here without setting off some of those guardians is beyond me.
Alexos prepares to follow the group whichever way they go.
Ting Tang
|
ting begins following the tracks, looking carefully as he goes
taking 20 on perception and taking 20 on survival to track
Oy Hans, maybe's betweens yer shiny personalities and my's natur'l talky skills we's can gets 'is bloke ta play wit tha statures back in tha big room... Sefu did want something bigger to toss on the statures
he will continue moving slowly until they are engaged or they come to a door or an intersection in the hall
Ting Tang
|
Hmmm...Wells I may as well take a crack at it wrought?
ting tang walks up to the gate and looking at it decides it must be difficult, so taking off his armor and setting aside his pack he pulls out his lock picks.
disable device: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
Ting Tang
|
I went to d20pfsrd and didn't see any traps with a disable device lower than 20, hopefully it is 20 and not 25. so I will rerole just in case. Also the aid from the statue was ten minutes, please let me know when that is up, thank you.
ting takes another shot at the gate
disable device: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24
well that ones closer at least
Ting Tang
|
I went back to see if I could tell how long it had been that I touched the statue, I forgot to say something about the "warm feeling"
You's be wroight on 'at account Miss, I's'a 'open I's gots it 'is time, by tha by did any o' you's blokes gets warm an' fuzzy whens ya touched 'at black stature?, I knows I did, wroight?
whether or not ting gets the gate/trap this time he will put his armor back on, and wait for instructions
GM Baerlie
|
DC is 20, but the statue gives only 'aid' (Aid grants the target a +1 morale bonus on attack rolls and saves against fear effects), I suppose you are not attacking the gate, are you?
Ting tries to disable the trapped gate, but he's so nervous, that he accidentally touches the gate's bones. The gate forms a sharp bone spear that attacks Ting.
Spear Attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22 Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Ting, bleeding heavily, makes a second attempt. He hears a click and the gate swings open.
Ting Tang
|
no he was not attacking the gate, I was inquiring to see how much longer he would have the extra 18 hit points, does he set the trap off if he only fails by 1 I thought it was 5 or more, so with the 8 points damage he would still be at 21/11, actually 29/11 thanks to Viincent, unless the 10 minutes is up right? also, how much time is left, because it will take him 4 minutes to put his armor back on
After ting opens the gate he staunches the bleeding and begins to put his armor back on
thank ye, Viincent, all wrioghty chaps forwards or backwards?
GM Baerlie
|
I see, yes the 1d8 still applied for the attack of the gate. It's written in the trap description that it immediately sets off if disarming was unsuccessfull. After putting back on the armour the effect is gone, 4 minutes plus searching the crypt/room no. 10 is more than 10 minutes. And I'm afraid healing with a wand cannot restore more HP than the healed creature has, so you are back to your normal HP I think.
Ting Tang
|
thanks for the clarification, I forgot you can't heal "extra" HP.
I'm just glad to still be at 11 hp :-), speaking of glad Hans pleae tell us you put on the armor so your at something like 18 AC
ting settles his sword and chakrams in place, looking at Hans he says
Lead on Gov'nor this looks lyks a doors ta tha wrioght, wrioght?
| Standard Pregen |
@Ting Tang: Yes, Hans *did* put the breastplate on :-)
"Fair enough, Ting Tang - How about I open the next door? After all, it *does* seem to be 'on the right'!"
So saying, Hans strides purposefully into the room...
Ting Tang
|
ting smiles and follows behind Hans
Lead on yer big brutal Bisectorness, we's nat'raly heighted mor't'ls be's wroight backs 'ear in yer bloody wake ting suddenly realizing how big the man he was talking to actually is, he quickly adds no o'fence wroight?

Repeated lines of footprints mark the dust on the floor of this crypt, all leading to an alcove in the northeast portion of the chamber. The burial niches lining the stone walls are empty save for ancient scraps of yellowed linen. At the far end of the chamber, a gate apparently crafted of bleached bone blocks an exit out of the tomb.
In some of the niches Ting and Hans see skeletons. They start moving as soon as Ting and Hans enter the room. It's four of them
The two skeletons in ther southern niches move first, because they are closer to Ting and Hans. Once closer they reach out with their claws.
Skeleton b vs. Hans: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Skeleton r vs. Ting: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14 Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Init. Alexos: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Init. Felicitas: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
Init. Sefu: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
Init. Hans: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Init. Ting: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

Ting draws his sword and gripping it two-handed attacks with as much power as he can muster.
Ting attacks the “red” skeleton, using power attack
attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19, damage: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
take 'at ya bloody bag o' bones
Sefu Sekala
|
Sefu steps up behind Viincent and fires a ray of positive energy toward the skeleton in front of Ting.
Touch Attack: 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (17) + 2 - 4 = 15
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Move: Move 10 feet.
Standard: Cast disrupt undead at Skeleton R.
Skeleton R also gets +4 AC due to soft cover, right?
| Standard Pregen |
Hans slashes at the skeleton attacking him!
Greatsword: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24, for 2d6 + 10 ⇒ (6, 2) + 10 = 18 damage.
Working on the assumption that that explodes the skeleton, and that Ting-Tang did the same to his...
Favoring Ting Tang with an impish grin, he then hustles forward, preparing to engage the more northerly skeletons.
20' forward to remain front-rank, but still force the skeletons to do more than a 5' step in order to attack ;-)
Ting Tang
|
tings move action was to draw his sword and then to attack, he cannot move until the beginning of the next round, if someone else wants to slide to front line to protect Hans flank please do!
GM Baerlie
|
The immediate attack of Hans and Ting blew the skeletons near the door (r & b). The path is now free for everybody to reach the other two skeletons.
Felicitas and Sefu are up, if Sefu wants to change his action, because skeleton red is a pile of bones now

Sure, I'll adjust my action. Can we just use the results I already rolled?
Sefu watches as Hans and Ting reduce two skeletons to piles of bone as he dashes past them. Stopping beside Felicitas in the middle of the long chamber, he conjures an orb of positive energy, which sizzles and flares around his outstretched fist.
"Come out from hiding and meet your true end, abominations!" he shouts down the hall at the remaining skeletons.
Move: Move 30 feet.
Standard: Ready casting of disrupt undead against first skeleton to come into range.
GM Baerlie
|
Sure! A good roll is a good roll :)
Felecitas and Sefu enter the room, waiting for the remaining skeletons to show their ugly skulls.
The skeletons step out of their niches and approach Hans. They attack him with their broken skitimars, but the weapons are so broken, that they leave only some rust on his breastplate.
Attack yellow: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (12) + 0 = 12 Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Attack green: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (2) + 0 = 2 Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3

Am I close enough to hit one with my fists or will I have to move first? Assuming I can reach one by moving first.
Alexos goes after the nearest remaining skeleton.
Time to return to the dust.
unarmed strike: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 81d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Missing though, he then hops back a pace. free action distance.
| Standard Pregen |
Hans takes a swing at one of the skeletons!
Greatsword: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25, for 2d6 + 10 ⇒ (3, 2) + 10 = 15 damage.
Again, assuming that destroys it, he will 5' step into the square that it just occupied.
Ting Tang
|
ting will move the twenty feet forward into the spot that Hans was in, and again attacking two-handed with all the power he can muster attack y
attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16, damage: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
thanks fer steppin' ups gov'n'r
assuming this kills the last skeleton, ting will begin searching the room carefully taking 20 on perception looking for traps, secret doors and anything else interesting
GM Baerlie
|
Alexos swings his fists against a skeleton, but his fists hit only the air where flesh should be. Hans lands another blow at the skeleton in front of him (green). This one also burts into bones and splinters. Viincent prepares to heal his buddies, just in case they need it. Ting attacks the remaining skeleton, but it's somehow more stable than a regular skeleton. AC16 does not hit, 18 is the minimum ;)

With his khopesh drawn and imbued with arcane power, Sefu moves forward, past Alexos, and strikes at the remaining skeleton.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Does a magic weapon overcome DR/bludgeoning? Not that Sefu would know about the skeleton's DR ...
Swift: Enchant khopesh with arcane pool.
Move: Move 15 feet.
Standard: Attack skeleton with (magic) khopesh.
GM Baerlie
|
Found this in the Core Rules: 'Weapons with an enhancement Bonus of +3 or greater can ignore some types of damage reduction, regardless of their actual material or alignment.' (page 562), so no DR overcome with a +1 weapon.
Sefu attacks the remaining skeletonwith his khopesh and is able to loosen some rips, but they move back to their original Position after a second.

ting upset that the skeleton has avoided attacks by Hans and his great-sword and Sefu and his magic, ting raises his arms in frustration and attacks with his beak, attempting to peck at the skeletons eye-sockets
Squawk
figured he would attack with his natural attack since a bite is B, P and S
attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20, damage: 1d3 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
hopefully someone will kill this thing this round, if we do ting will take 20 and search for traps, hidden doors and other interesting items
Sefu Sekala
|
In order to reconcile Alexos's melee attack versus the skeleton, should we assume Ting took a 5-foot step north on his turn and Alexos took a 5-foot step northeast before the monk attacked? Otherwise, I don't see how Alexos could have attacked without moving and taking an AoO as he moved past Ting.
Alexos Virden
|
1) I can't see the map, I was presuming I was attacking the one I only took a free 5 foot away from... if otherwise I can move to it prior to hitting myself in the head.
2) I go first given I am the closer for round two, Ting was posting his move for round 3.
Ting Tang
|
sorry Alexos :( ting got flabbergasted after he saw Hans miss, and not only jumped you in round 2 but Viincent in round 3, he will take it back if someone will lend him a hanky to wipe the skeleton gue off of his beak :-) if it helps any he will happily take a five foot move north and give you room to come up and threaten the skeleton as you "hit yourself in the head" LOL
Alexos Virden
|
Well, that was fun... let me take a look around and see what these bones had worth guarding.
Alexos examines the room and the ... bones... carefully.
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27
Nice! Anything worth taking, noting, etc? Any passages or lore objects?
