Lock wins with 47!! I'll post prizes soon!

OK! What a great game! Lock takes 1st place with a 47 (50 was the final number). 1st place wins 1 essence of greater false life (20HP). You can hire a magic user to add this essence to ANY piece of equipment.

For participating, and for the last Packers game of the year, the rest of you walk away with 1 essence of false life (10HP) each.

Keep checking the forums during down time for NPC activity.

Don't forget, once you decide what to do with Selmon and DeRolue......post it here in the forms.

Dead man talking - options

1)kill em both and pretend we don't know anything
2)Kill em both and walk into to town claiming they were executed for crimes against low town
2)Let them both go, and tell them this was a display/warning
3)Kill the prince, and free the priest. Say we received a letter from Thock saying he had kidnapped the priest and would free him in exchange for the prince. We tried to talk to him about it, but he was already gone. We went to the bridge where we discovered the prince fighting off Thock, we tried to save him, but he kept attacking and taking wounds until Thock was dead. He died shortly after, a hero. The priest was discovered bound but unhurt. Hopefully this lie makes everyone happy enough to not feel the need to dig too deep.

Also in out downtime we should post recruitment signs for people to fill the ranks of our armies.

We need allies. It seems that it is us against the world. Everyone either uses us or lies to us.

Also we need to be careful with the church because yes we have a healer he cannot restore lvls or life yet.

The prince and the priest. I say we use any and all magical means to force them to tell the truth. Either zone of truth or charms dominate suggestion.

I agree with Dusty that we should recruit to strengthen our troops. And maintain a good relationship with low town.

1.) Safest

2.) Boldest
3.) Righteous
4.) I only see one hole. Do The Heroes of The Well think DeRolue capable of such a selfless, heroic act? Would you believe it if you heard it? How do you sell it to others who knew the same man?

I like Dusty's plan.
We can interrogate the prince before killing him.
Letting the priest go as though we're freeing him from Thok seems like a solid play.

The Heroes of The Well, low town and a small regiment of deadly elves.......maybe your wrong, maybe you have all the allies you need? Maybe the days of accepting outsiders is over?

You can't handle the truth!

When you resolve the "issue", take level 8. Once you take level 8, I will allow downtime recruiting and each of your armies will grow one size catergory.

Is this carrot that I dangle large and juicy enough to get you to make a rash/quick decision on the "issue"

Thok's men took both of them, we killed Thok before he could kill the priest but we were too late to save the prince.

Put it to a vote....all in favor say Aye.

Aye.
I'll send an email discussing what my plans are for his remains.
Some things shouldn't be mentioned in a public forum.

Aye. I'd even say all we found of the prince was his hat or a boot... something to that effect.

Russk and Targoth?

Since we had both DeRolue and the priest in our wagon I think we have to go with "Thok" kidnapping both. The priest might be aware that DeRolue was there with him. Did we ever say we gagged them? Would they have had a chance to talk to each other at all (I don't remember if anyone was riding in the back with them).

While Russk is against the idea of basically murdering DeRolue, he also isn't very sure that we could trust him to not ever tell anyone about our part in this. He's not going to be the one to do the deed, and he's not going to be particularly happy about it, but he won't stand in your way if that's what the group has decided.

Keeping some article of bloody clothing is probably a good idea, since some guard had to have seen him that morning as he went to the stables, which would help verify the kidnap story.

Agreed that we should question the priest (as if we actually had rescued him) to see what he knows, and then let him go.

I believe Mike (Lock) specifically stated they would be "bagged and gagged". As far as Rusk's feelings (strictly alignment speaking) remember these guys turned their backs on low town and DeRolue may have been in on an attempt to poison/assassinate you. Still murder is a big deal, so you should totally role play it the way you want.

Give into the dark side.....

DeRolue saw our faces, he's nothing more than a loose end at this point.
He can never be found or we'd be f'd in the A.

Feed him to a forest drake in the west Brimwood! Then, stardust can say hi to daddy and be hung for high treason!!!

I wonder what dear Framtosh has been doing while the heroes of the well are away....I suppose I'll pay him a visit!

Aye

We have decided that each of us come up with three questions to ask our prisoners.

Mine are as follows.

1. Did Ojest take the orphans, was it his idea or did the church kick them out.

2. Is there a connection with the church and smiling Rick?

3. Are these happenings the churches ideas or something else influence?

Bonus question!

Dose he have any good recipes?

1. Who's decision was it to only guard the churches when we were attacked?
2. What is your relationship with Smiling Ric , more specifically why is a known criminal socializing with the noble people of High Town?
3. Why is the church of Erastil, a well-known and good aligned deity alienating and ignoring the other factions present on the council of 7?
Bonus Question: Do you know who attempted to poison us at your gathering in our honor?
It should be noted that prior to asking questions I will be casting Perceive Cues(+5 sense and perception) prior to the interrogation.
Giving me a +19 to Perception and +31 to Sense Motive.

We can also use zone of truth!

I'm good with those questions. If Derolue did try and I poison us, I'll kill him with no problem.

Ask Derolue these questions, kill him. Then free the Priest and return him to his flock!

Knocking Bishop Selmon unconscious is easier than anticipated. When you approach to bag him you can smell the fresh bodily waste that fills his clothing. Clearly, he was deathly afraid of the merciless combat that had occurred on the bridge.

Did you knock him unconscious or did he faint from stress? Does it matter?

You won't have to worry about him listening in.........

Together, the party approaches DeRolue. You remove his hood. He looks passive at first, but his blue eyes grow wide as he scans the battlefield.

You pull the gag down from his mouth and the sweat and spit soaked rag falls around his neck.

Slowly, methodically and purposefully he looks each of you in the eye. You see a level of understanding deep within the aqua colored pupils, as if he knows whole heartedly and has come to terms with the fact that there is no one he leaves this bridge alive.

Slowly, the look of earnest gives way to a wry smile and his blue eyes light up, renewed with vigor, as if he just told a joke....and only he gets the punchline.

On Kal's signal, Targoth moves to face DeRolue

Targoth the chef wrote:

(DeRolue's face twists, the smile of a maniac, his voice grows gritty)

Ojest was a fine shepard for the Ascended. The Reaper of Reputation was pleased with him, no doubt. The Secret Shade grew hungry doing the Reapers work.......the children were nurishment. No more, no less.

I know the enchantment your faithful one lays down. There is no need. I have been instructed to be truthful with the heroes of the well.

Targoth the chef wrote:

(DeRolue lets out a snorty chuckle)

Yes, a connection indeed.

Targoth the chef wrote:

Something else entirely. Something you will only understand fully, moments before it tires of you and kills you.

Lock steps forward, tired of mindless riddles...tired of games

Lock n Logan wrote:

(DeRolue looks to Lock with the same intense smile)

The Reapers.

Lock n Logan wrote:

You would ask a sheep why it follows the shepard? You would ask Profit why he pulls the cart for Dusty?

Lock n Logan wrote:

(DeRole's face lights up with joy)

The church is a farce. The Reaper simply uses the church to instigate Erastil and keep his "projects" alive until he grows bored of them.

The council was a beautiful ruse. For decades it worked to our gains..until the whore elf became wise to it. Before Thok and the Northern retards figured us out....it was truly beautiful. A democratic way to secure the "game-board" for the Reaper, for ages to come.

Lucky for us, the whore won't leave the woods..and "The Heroes of the Well" took care of the last band of Northern Barbarians.....and I believe that big dead green pile over yonder is Thok...yes?

Lock n Logan wrote:

(DeRolue lets forth a joyous giggle)

Me. I poisoned you. You were to be assassinated. Only a small percentage of Seven Snakes and Rivermead "won't drink the wine" if you catch my drift. Thok exterminated most of Rivermead's. "The Heroes of the Well" were supposed to destroy Seven Snakes during the "Battle of Seven Snakes"...but it turned out you were quite the tacticians. We didn't think those poor, disgusting farmers, beggars, or drunkards stood a chance. It truly was a win win though....when you think about it.

Either way, it became too dangerous...an uprising of "non-followers" is not what the Reaper intended. Once you weakened Thok enough and finished off those Barbarians, you were no longer needed.

Lock. (Sense Motive 47).

He's being honest. He clearly doesn't care that he's unearthing some serious secrets. It seems as though he knows he'll be dead soon (whether or not at the hand of your party) and you sense he is taunting you....maybe even baiting you.

Huh.
Need some time to digest this.
Then I'm leaning towards the wolverine chewing his face off.
Thoughts anyone?

Is Selmon a member of the ascended?

You'll have to wake him up and ask him.......

Thok thought so...

Okay, I'll make a decapitation proclamation. Logan can do the rest.

Interesting...

So, Dusty cuts DeRolue's head off, or suggests it?

If nobody else has any questions for him, I'll execute him.

(Rubbing hands together)

"Eggs-cellent"

If we execute him lets burn the body then grind up his bones I'll cook something up and feed his bones to the local wildlife.

I won't have you poisoning the local wildlife with this....creature.
His remains get burnt and buried 10 feet deep.

Preferably in hallowed ground.

Before we kill him:

Who are The Reapers?
Who is The Reaper?
What was The Shade doing for The Reaper?
Does Rick serve The Reaper, and how?
Who, or what are The Ascended?
Is this Thok? (I would imagine my Coup de grace would have been a brass knuckle to the windpipe or something similar, so his face should still be pretty recognizable)

Perhaps we should consider taking him to the Orcs. We could even kill him in front of them to show that we have no hostility towards them. Or we could take his head to them after we have done the deed.

Good chance the orcs will know we killed Thok.
Maybe it's time for the orcs to get a hobgoblin leader.....

Now it is Russk's turn to ask questions.....

Russk wrote:

Who are The Reapers?

(DeRolue looks annoyed)

There are no "Reapers"...Only The Reaper! The Reaper of Reputation!

Russk wrote:

Who is The Reaper?

Father Skinsaw, The Grey Master, Blackfingers. He is known by many names, to many names.

Russk wrote:

What was The Shade doing for The Reaper?

He is one of three supernatural servants to the Reaper. The second servant you have met thus far.
