Halvar finally realizes just how outclassed he is and lets the younger, stronger and more handsome men take the lead.

What am I doing? I forsook the path of physical might for knowledge. I cannot simply expect to catch up with Odinbjorn and Osric. That ship has sailed.

Halvar attempts to open the portal, but his wee strength just isn't enough. Osric kindly taps him on the shoulder and says Let me give it a try! With a couple hard tugs, the casing lets go of its hold and the door opens easily. Peering in there can be little doubt what purpose this chamber once served. The dank room stores an ancient rack, a fanciful brazen bull, an iron maiden, a cauldron, iron chairs with sharp edges and cruel protuberances, and a wooden table upon which sit various implements of torture. A bronze plaque affixed to the western wall depicts a crowing rooster above crossed spears. Underneath the spear, a short phrase is inscribed. The phrase emblazoned on the plaque is written in Common, and reads, “Confession Cleanses the Soul— Pain Clarifies the Mind."
A raven appears to be perched atop of the plaque and speaks to the party in a shrill voice.
“Greetings, fine citizens of our glorious empire! So good to have visitors, though I fear I have no refreshments to offer. I assume you are here for the treasure. Well,I’d be happytoassist,providedthat you give me what I require! It has been so long since I was able to ply my trade. I require only that each of you shed your life’s blood in this room—simply take a seat in one of my lovely chairs.”

Pain clarifies the mind? What kind of demented place is this?

Osric does his best to appear nonplussed at hearing the raven speak, but it's clear he hasn't encountered such things in his rural upbringing.

"Treasure you say? We hadn't heard much about that, to be sure. And your terms aren't acceptable to me. My blood is my own, not to be exchanged for worldy riches."

Halvar whispers to Mala Aye, this creature is not of this world to be sure. If I had to guess, this is a disguise! As he finishes his comment to Mala, the raven turns into its true form,a red skinned devil known by many of the realms as an imp. It laughs at the group, with its high pitch voice. Welcome to my late master's torture chamber, I think this will be quite fun! Then it disappears!

GM:
Whenever I am adjacent to an ally Odinbjorn will always use his body guard ability regardless of the ally or position of the enemy. His dragon edicts demand it.

Bodyguard: When an adjacent ally is attacked, you may use an attack of opportunity to attempt the aid another action to improve your ally's AC. You may not use the aid another action to improve your ally's attack roll with this attack.

Oops I forgot to confirm the crit. 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
Halvar you take only 1 point of damage. Your aid another failed due to the natural 20 Odinbjourn.

I never specified that I would have it always on, so I was not too worried about it. I just wanted to let you know. Odinbjorn is pretty complex mechanically, I am enjoying the challenge of playing him in a PbP.

Osric moves to the southwest, nocking an arrow and drawing his bow as he moves. Once in position he looses a shot at the imp.

Move W-SW-S: I should be directly south of Msla's new position and 2 squares west of the imp.

Odinbjorn and Mala both hit the creature, but it looks as though it didn't affect it. The imp attacks Halvar again with its stinger, 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16 barely missing. Osric's attack however stings the creature as it hisses at him. Halvar steps back out of the imp's reach holding his neck.

Hey GM i forgot to add my point-blank damage to that first arrow, so it did 9 total damage.

Osric steps back again and shoots.

Halvar switches to full defense, expecting an invisible imp to try to kill him shortly.

I checked the Paizo boards and all that are in range make an attack vs the creature. A hit will disrupt his casting.

I can't take an AOO since I don't threaten with a bow, so the AOO's should resolve and the imp should conclude its turn, I believe?
