About Odinbjorn II

History:

Joining the Ulfen guard was always a dream of mine. Like my father, I was going to guard and protect the Grand Prince from all sorts of vile plots, and assassination attempts. I was going to meteorically rise up the ranks and one day take charge of all the guards in Taldor. Sadly those were the delusions of youth. I was indeed accepted into the ranks of the Ulfen Guard, but at the time, I had no idea of what exactly I had gotten myself into. The politics, the nepotism, the cronyism, it was quite the wake up call for a fresh faced boy like myself. My father was a member of the guard for over twenty years and many a story was told about him and his prowess, he is quite the legend in the guard and was famous or rather infamous. You see, he had a tendency to be a bit stubborn, and insubordinate. He had the right because of how good he was at his chosen vocation, but he stepped on quite a few toes prior to leaving with his loot from the treasury, most notably Kodran Kullirson’s toes.

Kol Kodradson son of Kodran Kullrison decided that because his father hated mine, he would in turn hate me. Though quite capable of protecting the Primogen Crown, I was assigned the lowliest of posts, the guarding of Prince Stavian’s daughter. She is not by the way even an heir to the crown, but mu duties required that I had to defend her because that was what the Grand Prince ordered. Besides being the quietest post a guardsmen could have. it had the added benefit of enabling Kol to humiliate me, and in turn make his father proud. I performed my duties to the best of my ability, and counted the days until my service was complete. I attempted many times to do great deeds to get off the daughter detail, but to no avail. It goes without saying that things were always more than a little bit heated between Kol and myself.

The last week of my tour was finally upon me and I could not wait to get out of the guard, it was nothing like I thought it would be. with my discharge looming I felt it was time to tell Kol what I really thought of him. The fight that broke out was not the thing of legends or ballads that bard sing, it was not even a close confrontation, Kol beat me into submission and left me with two broken arms. In hindsight, maybe I deserved the detail I was assigned after all. I may have been an awesome guard and supreme defender in a group environment, but as a solitary combatant I lacked his raw strength and pure fury. When my arms finally healed I was nowhere near as strong as I had been, prior to our fight. Kol really did a number on me.

When my obligation of service was finally up later that week, I could not carry very much out of the treasury due to my weakened and broken state. I couldn't even carry enough gold to get me back to Ullerskad. So I had to make do with what I could carry. I decided that the life of a celebrity body guard was enough to get me by and decided to stay here in Oppara and lease out my talents to the highest bidding actors and singers. If I were to head back to Ullerskad now, I’m sure the story of my defeat and disgrace would follow me. Bard guard was fun for a small time, But I know that in order to restore my reputation I have to do something great. I resolve to become an adventurer and see if fortune or fame present themselves to me.

Special Abilities

Order of the Dragon: Cavaliers belonging to the order of the dragon dedicate themselves to a group of like-minded individuals, be it a mercenary company or a small
band of adventurers. These cavaliers believe in loyalty and friendship, and are willing to lay down their lives to protect their allies. (Perception + Survival class skill)

Edicts: The cavalier must remain loyal to his allies and must always work to further the aims of the group. He must protect his allies from harm and defend their
honor when called into doubt.

Challenge (Order of the Dragon): Whenever an order of the dragon cavalier issues a challenge, his allies receive a +1 circumstance bonus on melee attack rolls against the target of his
challenge whenever he is threatening the target. This bonus increases by +1 for every four levels the cavalier possesses.

Skills: An order of the dragon cavalier adds Perception (Wis) and Survival (Wis) to his list of class skills. In addition, whenever an order of the dragon cavalier
uses Survival to provide food and water for his allies or to protect his allies from harsh weather, he receives a bonus on the check equal to 1/2 his cavalier level
(minimum +1).

Sworn Defense:At 1st level, whenever an honor guard issues a challenge, he can select one ally as his ward for the duration of the challenge. Whenever the honor guard
is adjacent to his ward, he takes a –1 penalty to Armor Class, and the ward receives a +1 dodge bonus to AC.

Exotic Mount: At 1st level, a beast rider forms a bond with a strong, loyal companion that permits him to ride it as a mount. This mount functions as a druid's animal
companion, using the beast rider’s level as his effective druid level. The animal chosen as a mount must be large enough to carry the beast rider (Medium or Large for
a Small character; Large or Huge for a Medium character). The beast rider does not take an armor check penalty on Ride checks while riding his mount. The mount is
always considered combat trained, and begins play with Endurance as a bonus feat. A beast rider’s mount does not gain the share spells special ability. (Horse)

Bodyguard: When an adjacent ally is attacked, you may use an attack of opportunity to attempt the aid another action to improve your ally's AC. You may not use the aid
another action to improve your ally's attack roll with this attack.

Combat Reflexes: You may make a number of additional attacks of opportunity per round equal to your Dexterity bonus. With this feat, you may also make attacks of
opportunity while flat-footed

Veteran of Battle: You have fought in several battles, and each time felt the presence of your god guiding your sword-arm, making you ready to act at a moment’s notice.
You gain a +1 trait bonus on Initiative checks, and if you are able to act during a surprise round, you may a draw a weapon (but not a potion or magic item) as a free
action during that round.

Tactician (Ex): At 1st level, a cavalier receives a teamwork feat as a bonus feat. He must meet the prerequisites for this feat. As a standard action, the cavalier can
grant this feat to all allies within 30 feet who can see and hear him. Allies retain the use of this bonus feat for 3 rounds plus 1 round for every two levels the cavalier
possesses. Allies do not need to meet the prerequisites of these bonus feats. The cavalier can use this ability once per day at 1st level, plus one additional time per day
at 5th level and for every 5 levels thereafter.

Shield Wall (Combat, Teamwork):Whenever you are wielding a shield and are adjacent to an ally wielding a shield who also has this feat, the AC bonus from your shield increases,
depending on the shield wielded by your ally. If your ally is wielding a buckler or a light shield, your shield bonus increases by +1. If your ally is wielding a heavy shield
or a tower shield, your shield bonus increases by +2. You keep these bonuses even if your ally loses his shield bonus due to making a shield bash attack. If an adjacent ally
with this feat uses a tower shield to grant total cover, you also benefit if an attack targeting you passes through the edge of the shield (Core Rulebook 153).

Challenge (Ex): Once per day, a cavalier can challenge a foe to combat. As a swift action, the cavalier chooses one target within sight to challenge. The cavalier's melee
attacks deal extra damage whenever the attacks are made against the target of his challenge. This extra damage is equal to the cavalier's level. The cavalier can use this
ability once per day at 1st level, plus one additional time per day for every three levels beyond 1st, to a maximum of seven times per day at 19th level.
