Darkrunner suddenly gets a deer-in-the-headlights look that, instead of "running his clients" he's being thrust out into the arena. He quickly drops his gold chains, fedora, and stylish trench coat at the entrance to get more battle-ready.

Kima will poke him slightly in the side, also being more of the quite on the sides type, with a small wink of follow my lead before heading out into the arena. Hopefully he gets the idea, don't know how well their audio system is to give entertainment value.

Looking about the others being more vocal and physical, before attempting to at least show off for the crowd being not physically intimidating but more quick and graceful.

Sigma, feel free to make a check to work the crowd if you change your mind, but nobody will force you - not even Julakesh in all her glory :P

The crowd seems to really react well to your team - Julakesh's fierceness, Ytchkn's sympathetic and endearing gestures, Darkrunner's agility...they're less impressed by Kima's attempts to be graceful or Kaylee trying to be pretty, however. You can see from the "royal box" a cloudy haze of transdimensional colors (including...is that octarine?)!

Just then, the station's team of two male korasha lashuntas and one female vesk armed with stun guns manages to get a large-sized cage to the opposite entrance, and after backing away down the corridor, remotely open it to allow the terrifying beast made up entirely of muscle, sinew, and sharpened horns free into the arena, heralded by dramatic arena music!

Life Science DC 12:
This is an adolescent Crest-Eater, a fierce predator native to the Kasathan homeworld! They are large, strong, tough, and extremely fast for their size! Their bite is venomous and can dissolve bone!

Life Science DC 17:
All of the above information, plus:
In addition to a venomous bite, they can also spit venom at range! Further, they understand the kasathan language, and have a dietary preference for kasathans, or other creatures with larger/more bones!

Life Science DC 22:
All of the above information, plus:
Their finely tuned senses can hone in on any creature whose bones they have begun to dissolve (to prepare for eating - Crest-Eaters survive mainly on a diet of bone and chitin!) such that they gain blindsense (scent) against anyone suffering the effects of their venom!

After trying but failing to show off for the crowd kaylee would have sulked a little bit but then would have pulled out her comm unit's wireless earpiece so she could "talk" with her exocortex "Simon" and ask him to turn on her energy shield.

Once the gate opens and the crest eater emerges she flinches a bit. This was *so* not like the last gunfight she was in...this reminds her of the one before that where Julakesh almost got eaten!

She runs over to the closest pillar while drawing her hutchket rifle while whispering urgently into her earpiece "Simon, run program River!" allowing her combat tracking software to kick in as she takes aim!

"Whoa whoa...I know you're all like, totally excited to meet me...I mean, who wouldn't be, right, but like, don't all talk at once..." He turns to grin at one of the pillars...then rubs his eyes and realizes that it's not one of you and is about to adjust his shades when Julakesh claps him on the back and they go flying off...

1d100 ⇒ 68

...landing right in Sigma's open hand!

With a laugh and a bit more flexibility than you might have guessed, he manages to slip out of Julakesh's grasp and takes the multicolored lenses back, giving the android a high-give. "Dude...stellar catch!"

After putting them back on he motions with a jerk of his head that sends him slightly off balance...

1d100 ⇒ 53

...stumbling right into Julakesh's body.

"Whoa...Dudette...you're like...as sturdy as a mountain on the oceanic desert of Castrovel!"

You can almost sense a tumbleweed dying somewhere in the dusty arena for a brief moment before he continues. "You all look so tough in your armor and stuff, so I already had your civvie clothes sent back to your ship. I know, I know, I'm a thoughtful kinda guy, right?" He grins. “While you’re here, do you wanna check the rest of the station out? My personal tour covers all the hot spots. If you want the VIP treatment, you can come with me!"

With a flourish and touching a button on a wrist-computer, a side-door opens up in the arena, leading to a long corridor with a single elevator at the far end.

"First we can hit the coolest lounge on the station so you can catch your breath after that stellar fight...then I'll show you all my favorite places!"

Assuming you follow him, Envar will lead you down the hallway...his steps unsteady and only the wall (or one of you, perhaps) keeping him upright. As you near the elevator, a holo-projection of an attractive middle-aged lashunta woman pops up in front of you, saying, “Security is important to Arch Energy. Remember to reset your computer passwords once a week. Use a 16-character password that does not contain any recognizable words or patterns to increase its security.”

Envar rolls his eyes at the projection and sighs, “I told you, Mother, I can’t remember all those letters and numbers. That’s why it’s still— Wait, where’d she go?”

Your mark takes you into the elevator and down one level to where mostly cramped offices for rank-and-file employees are, as well as some storage units. Envar leads you to one such unit that apparently used to house cryogenic components that he converted into an "ice bar" of sorts. It's cool (literally and figuratively) and comfortable, even though Envar complains that his mom's security (or just the employees working nearby) raided and took away all the alcohol and pesh.

During this time you may take a 10-minute rest to recover Stamina if you wish.

Once you're comfortable, Envar grins at each of you while playing with his computer in one hand. "So, dudes and dudettes...where are you all from, and how'd you each become, like, professional fighters?"

Julakesh takes a vial from Kima and looks at it with confusion. Sorry, what's in the vial?

Julakesh laughs at the foolish man. "A-HAH! A-HAH! Your antics amuse me! I will come on your tour! We will have fun! A-HAH!"

She follows Envar out of the arena. As the image of the woman appears, Julakesh asks, "Who is this face-woman? She is boring!"

At hearing it's Envar's mother, Julkaesh laughs. "A-HAH! A-HAH! That is your mother? How can you be so amusing, when your mother is no fun?"

She laughs again, apparently thinking that's hilarious. "A-HAH! A-HAH! A-HAH!"

In the cold room, Julakesh takes a seat. Resting to recover stamina.

Julakesh smiles broadly. "I was a soldier on Vesk-6! Then I got a posting in a battle zone off-planet. Our ship was hit by great rad-i-a-tion," she sounds out this word carefully and slowly, "And all of them died but me! Horrible deaths!" Julakesh shivers. "But I was strong! I gained new powers!" she thumps her chest in pride. "Now I fight for... GLORY!"

She puts her hands on her hips and laughs loudly. "A-HAH! A-HAH! A-HAH!"

Pointing at Envar she says, "Your turn now, funny man! How have you come to be YOU?"

After "catching" the glasses, Sigma Mu is all the more perplexed by the situation and stares almost blankly at his hand. Deciding to not dwell on it, he enters a couple of notes into his comm unit to review when home on absalom station where he could cross reference all the various social situations he'd encountered since arriving here before refreshing his socially centered subroutines and interfaces.

Accepting the vial from Kima, "Thank you. Fortunately, the damage my chassis sustained is superficial and should be easily addressed with a 10 minute maintenance cycle." He adds telepathically "I Will return if unused."

He quietly follows the group taking note of the password reminder that is Envar's mother's hologram.

Upon entering the ice bar, a smile, though off-putting, creeps across his face. He had always enjoyed cold locations, choosing to believe certain components of his body could run more effectively when in the presence of cold should he decide to adjust a number of settings.

Sitting down on a well worn couch whose cleanliness was very questionable, Sigma Mu activated his maintenance mode (short rest).

Even though he is far more focused on hearing about each of you, he does answer your questions...sort of. "Well, I'm not totally famous yet, but I will be some day! Mom is like helping me pay for stuff now though, and I'm Chief Procurement Officer, which she says looks good on my resume for fame and stuff too! But I guess it means I can't totally take over...yet!" He laughs a bit at his own joke and wave his wrist-computer around a bit. "I still sneak into places I'm not supposed to when the boring scientist dudes go on lunch breaks though. That'll be part of the tour when my watch thing beeps - trust me!"

After spending 10 minutes cooling off after the fight with Envar, you all start to pick up on a few things.

The first is that Envar smoked way too much transdimenional pesh before and during your arena fight, and he's seeing (and hearing) lots of things that don't exist (like that typo in your last post :P).

The second is that he's really not a good conversationalist. The biggest word in his vocabulary appears to be "...stellar!", and also the one most repeated.

Third is that his attention span is shorter than the distance between his antennae. Taking more than 2-3 sentences to answer his question causes him to drift off to looking at his computer, or at Kaylee, given her behavior towards him.

He's definitely being friendly with you, but despite all of your charms, you're not really drawing out much information from him...yet.

After resting, he hops to his feet, as if remembering something. "Yo! Let's head to the Eclipse lounge! I think I...uh...have something there! ...yea!" He suddenly makes a dash for the door...runs into a wall (a wall the door is not located on), and stumbles back a bit before finding the actual egress from the room.

He leads you to a different elevator this time, pulling out his key-card (attached with a retractable lanyard to his belt), and also lowering his shades to do a retinal scan.

Perception, Computers, or Engineering DC 20:
The security systems on this station are beyond "top notch" - there are military companies that don't have systems this secure. You think you'd need a Computers/Engineering check somewhere in the 40s in order to hack or bypass these system without an employee keycard and retinal scan!

Computer or Engineering DC 40:
You think you can bypass these systems. Also, the GM thinks that you are reading this even though you did not roll a 40! Shame on you! :P If you want to have some fun and admit your shame, work the word "strawberry" into your next post! :P

If he sees any of you looking at the security devices, he grins and gives you a thumb's up. “We don’t let just anyone into the VIP areas. Good thing you're cool dudes and dudettes and that you're with me!” The gray metal elevator has a glass window that allows you to watch employees at work on solar panel construction as you descend to level two. A holoprojection of Ilia Tamm announces each level as you pass, and a chime sounds as the glass doors slide open to reveal a dimly lit hallway ending in glass double doors emblazoned with a crescent sun and the word “Eclipse.”

A small foyer leads to a large open room furnished with hovering black marble tables and dark-orange leather booths. A semicircular bar occupies most of the north wall, its multiple tiers backlit in blue and purple neon where glowing, flaming, and frothing drinks are served. A small holoscreen above the host stand in the foyer broadcasts an image of a scowling shirren in a white chef’s uniform and hat accompanied by the text “Chef Ghornak Ryzcech personally endorses Eclipse with a five-nova review!”

A male android clad in a white suit and orange tie greets you once you enter the foyer, offering to check your coats and weapons.

"A-HAH! A-HAH! " She clutches at her sides and laughs some more.

Eventually she claps Envar on the back and exclaims. "You amuse me! Lead the way! I will follow you and laugh at your stupid antics! A-HAH!"

She pays little attention to the security measures or the directory. But, when the holoprojected image of Ilia Tamm appears, Julakesh growls at it.

"I do not take orders from YOU!" Then she makes a rude gesture at the image, and proceeds to mock it, poking it in the 'eye' and pretending to pick it's nose.

She laughs loudly at her own cleverness.

"A-HAH! A-HAH! I can do anything to her and she cannot stop me!! A-HAH! A-HAH!"

As they are greeted by an android, and another holo-image appears, Julakesh lets out a grumble. Suddenly she smiles widely. She begins to tap her foot and bob her head.

"Can you hear? They are playing Strawberry Machine Cake's new hit song, 'Everything is Sweet in Cherry Happy Smile Town!' I LOVE THIS SONG!"

Julakesh begins to pump her fist and dance like a headbanger interested in 'techno-death-metal' to the bouncy happy tune of 'sugar-pop' music. Apparently, she's a fan.

The android door-man happily takes items from you who agree, but when others of you don't, he shrugs, bows, and responds, “Very well." Envar boasts that his “friend” Magisterial Chef Ghornak Ryzcech featured the Eclipse Lounge on his reality broadcast and provided his own downloadable hospitality interface for all android employees. The android host rolls his eyes and comments, “It’s completely degrading. Sadly, anticorp hacktivists got their hands on the program, and now I have an excuse to be rude to customers. Oh, my apologies, may I offer you a hot towel?” The android punches a command on his console and holds open the glass doors, allowing you entry.

SOUNDTRACK: Eclipse Lounge

Inside, an all-android waitstaff and a kasatha bartender cater to customers in the Eclipse Lounge. Tolara, a kasatha bartender with two additional cybernetic arms, mixes and serves drinks to patrons with all six arms. When you arrive at the bar, she nods to you and asks in a pleasant voice, “Would you care for a cocktail, or perhaps service at our premium gas bar? We carry oxygen, carbon dioxide, nitrogen—whatever suits your pleasure!"

Envar leans forward and whispers something to the kasatha, who just shakes her head, "No dear, you smoked those yesterday, remember? Got poor Unit Four 20 fired? Tsk tsk." She goes back to making your drink orders.

A minute or so after your drinks arrive, you notice a rather tough-looking female ysoki, flanked by two vesk bodyguards enter the lounge and walk right up behind your group. She squeaks as the two vesk crack their knuckles loudly, “Move if you don’t wanna be collateral, smooth skins. Envar, you're a week late. Where are my creds?"

Envar, still clearly in the throes of the transdimensional pesh stash he smoked earlier, squeals and looks like he's going to try to pet her, exclaiming, “Aren’t you sooo fwuffy!” The ysoki who is obviously the pesh dealer you earlier learned about, called Razor, is unimpressed and sighs, snapping her fingers.

Unless you "intervene" somehow, the two vesk are going to seize Envar. What do you do?

Sigma Mu follows the group out last not really wanting to leave the "Ice Bar." Regarding Envar, Sigma Mu attempts to create a list of reasons why one would compromise their personal system operations to the point walking in to walls and being unable to focus. Befuddled by the apparent lack of reasons he opens his list of social situations and adds "recreation drug use" for further research at a later time directly under "recreational drinking." Perhaps once his social subroutines reached an acceptable level of optimization he could try these things too.
