Blue Criticals: Engines Malfunctioning (-4 Piloting) ~> Engines Wrecked (All Piloting checks fail), 1d4 ⇒ 2 1d2 ⇒ 1 Forward Laser Malfunctioning (-4 Attacks)

Kima and Julakesh utterly destroy Blue's engines, but they're still barely hanging in the fight!

Kaylee sends extra power to the shields! (Shields currently 15/9/9/9)

Darkrunner jams the missile tracking the Drake then quickly rebalances the shields once again!

Botting: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11 DC 13
...but fails to do so!

Enemy Initiative:

Blue Initiative: 0 = 0 Auto-Fail
Red Initiative: 1d20 + 10 - 4 ⇒ (17) + 10 - 4 = 23

The Blue fighter's engines can only sputter, but the Red pilot begins to finally overcome being shaken up by Ytchkn, and is able to see what Sigma does before moving!

Enemy Piloting:

Blue Glide: 0 = 0 Auto-Fail
Red Evade: 1d20 + 10 - 4 ⇒ (4) + 10 - 4 = 10

The Blue fighter can only glide on emergency thrusters, as Sigma moves your craft in evasive maneuvers once again! The Red fighter leverages its increased speed to swing around to your port side as the Drake closes in on the heavily damaged Blue fighter craft!

The Blue fighter has no weapons it can aim at you thanks to Sigma's positioning, while the Red craft lines up to fire another missile, even as the one it fired earlier continues to try and track you!

Enemy Gunnery:

Blue: 0 = 0 No Available Weapon
Red MicroMissile #3 Round 2: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16
Red MicroMissile #4: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25

The missile that Darkruner jammed earlier loses its Target Lock and spirals harmlessly out into space (only thanks to Sigma's evasive flying!) but the newly fired one strikes your port arc for 2d6 ⇒ (3, 4) = 7 7 Damage, but your shields still barely hold!

Kima's missile misses its mark and also goes off into deep space, but after a critical moment of encouragement from Captain Ytchkn and a deep breath and pull of the trigger...Julakesh Starfist's Coilgun strikes the Blue fighter, causing all of its systems except emergency life-support to shut down! The Blue fighter is disabled and out of the fight - only one enemy ship left!

Ytchkn - I thought you only helped Kima last turn?

STARSHIP COMBAT: ROUND 6
Drake: 0 Hull Damage (15/2/9/9) [4 missiles fired] One missile left!
Blue: 36 Hull Damage (0/5/0/0) Disabled and out of commission!
Red: 22 Hull Damage (0/5/5/5) [4 missile fired] One missile left! (Aft LLC G, Sens G, Life G)

The whole party is up!

Map is updated!

Sorry about that. The statement was about the next round, because I didn't think I could do it this round.

Julakesh thumps her fist against her chest and jumps to her feet. She spreads her arms wide as if accepting applause. "YES! VICTORY IS MINE! A-HAH! A-HAH! A-HAH! ALL WILL FALL BEFORE MY ME!"

Kaylee increases your ship's speed, making it surpass the enemy fighter's! (10)

Darkrunner rebalances your shields (11/8/8/8)

Enemy Initiative:

Red Initiative: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23

Sigma seems to have a little bit of trouble with the ship, so the remaining enemy is able to follow rather than be followed!

Enemy Piloting:

Red Evade: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23

Sigma:
I hope you're okay with this call - it's the easiest way, I think, to get us to where we need to be.

Unable to maneuver the Drake evasively, Sigma still uses the momentary speed boost to the fullest, pulling away from the Red fighter and then turning to give his gunners the best possible angles of attack!

The Red fighter evasively turns and follows, closing in!

Enemy Gunnery:

Red MicroMissile: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14

Kima lines up a shot, firing the last of your ship's missiles, but is unable to resolve a target lock, and it joins the others spiraling out into deep space.

The Red fighter's last micromissile also misses you!

Ytchkn then calmly encourages Julakesh to focus her aim, to feel the shot before depressing the trigger...

Julakesh shouts out as she discharges the Drake's coilgun at the Red Fighter, its normal AC being 15, but its Evade AC 17... Julakesh rolled a 15, but with Ytchkn's aid, scored a 17 - a hit!

The metal slugs from the coilgun penetrate deep into the unshielded forward hull of the second Brilliant Patrolcraft, whose lights and engines shut off except for emergency life support, out of commission and dead in space! You are out of combat!

SOUNDTRACK: Flying Home

Following your armed escape from the patrol craft, Ytchkn orders Kaylee to shut off your normal engines and prepare to enter the Drift. Julakesh secures the weapon stations while Kima and Darkrunner plot your course, aligned to the Starstone beacon at the heart of Absalom Station. Exactly 60 seconds after engine power-off, Sigma Mu activates your Signal Basic Drift Engine, and the material plane becomes indistiguishable from so much star-stuff as you accelerate away to safety.

One day later, you return to the Lorespire Complex on Absalom Station, where Historia-7 eagerly awaits you with a team of data-operatives from her faction to begin decoding and recording the contents of the stolen files you retrieved. Because you extracted the data electronically, she actually reveals a slight slip of happiness, and is confident that she and her team can obtain the files she is after.

Shortly after her team start digging into the data, they uncover a solar-infused starship weapon schematic that Historia-7 gifts to your team as a reward for a job well done. You all receive the Solar Powered Weapon System boon!

Slightly amused, Historia-7 also forwards to you (from the infosphere accouts of your fake IDs) a message from Envar Tamm - a digital invitation to his 24th birthday party, described as an all-inclusive trip to a pleasure yacht in high orbit over Verces, with a note, “Join me for an encore performance of our glorious victory!” You each receive the Envar’s Attention boon!

SOUNDTRACK: Conclusion

As the data-team continues to analyze, Historia-7 walks you to the exit of the archives. “The mission is a success, and you are to be commended. All of you deserve some time to rest before your likely return to a more typical Society assignment.” Historia-7 speaks, momentarily pausing after making her declaration. The android’s eyes stare off past her data visor, as though she were contemplating some additional information that she had just received. “Interesting… This data you’ve uncovered is… very… interesting. For now, I’ll ask you to depart. I need to summon Zigvigix of the Exo-Guardians. It appears one of his recent offers now aligns with what this data may require us to do. How… unfortunate.”

(If asked, she will refuse to elaborate on why she needs to meet with Zigvigix or on any breakthroughs she discovered in the stolen data)

Your Primary Success Condition(s):
Retrieve the data from Ilia Tamm's computer, either by hacking it or removing its storage module.
You succeed at your primary mission!

Your Secondary Success Condition(s):
You must succeed in at least three of the following five objectives:
- Win the gladiatorial fight
(Success)
- Deal with Razor nonviolently (Failed)
- Defeat the solar elementals (Success)
- Avoid notice from any of Brilliance's security forces (Failed)
- Hack into Ilia's computer with 0 mistakes (Success)
With 3 of 5 completed, you succeed at your secondary mission!

Faction Notes:
By succeeding at your primary mission, you have personally assisted Historia-7 in confirming her theory that Arch Energy Consortium is involved in a larger conspiracy surrounding the Scoured Stars. Historia-7 is now one step closer to discovering the identities of these conspirators. You each earn 1 additional Reputation with the Dataphiles faction, in addition to any other Reputation earned by completing this scenario.

With that, you have now completed...The Solar Sortie!

SOUNDTRACK: The Solar Sortie "Closing Credits"

Gang, you were one of the most fun groups I've ever had in a Play-by-Post game! I hope you had as much fun playing this scenario as I did running it for you!! Please check the Discussion tab in a little bit - I need to get two more pieces of information from each of you before I can fill out your chronicle sheets. My goal is to have them to you in the next day, two at the most!

Thank you all so much for playing! :)

As she defeats another fighter Julakesh lets out a mad laugh and leaps to her feet.

"YES! I HAVE TRIUMPHED AGAIN! A-HAH! A-HAH! A-HAH! WITNESS MY MIGHT!"

As you power up the Drift engines she performs a victory dance. "SUCK IT, SUN!"

Throughout the flight back to Absalom, Julakesh reminds everyone of her great battle prowess. "Do you remember when I blasted that ship from the sky!" She mimics firing a massive gun, fighting off recoil. "RA-TA-TA-TA!" Then she laughs madly. "A-HAH! A-HAH! A-HAH! I am amazing! You are lucky to know me!"

---

Back in Absalom, Julakesh replies to History-7. "Of course this mission was done well! I was there!"

Looking at her teammates she adds, "My team were nearly as strong as a vesk child! They should be proud!" She smiles widely, clearly considering this a great compliment. "And the outer caressers did their... thing."

---

As they are dismissed Julakesh turns to her teammates. "You did well! We should celebrate! Come! Let us drink, eat, and dance together! I desire a party!"

Anyone who chooses to follow Julakesh to a bar finds themselves at the girliest, pop dance club in Absalom. You soon learn that she adores sugar pop music, dancing, singing, and fruity cocktails.

Kima brings up a good point...

On the journey home, Ytchkn (and anyone else called in to help) can work to treat Kima who suffered some rather severe and lasting radiation burns.

3 consecutive DC 11 Fortitude Saves for Kima are required.

Anyone trained in it can attempt (or aid an attempt at) a DC 11 Medicine check. If the Medicine check is successful, Kima gets a +4 on her Fort Save that day.

Disease stage refeence:

Failure follows the Physical Track

Kima is currently at the "Latent" stage.

Healthy—Latent—Weakened—Impaired—Debilitated—Bedridden—Comatose—Dead

Latent: She suffers no ill effects yet.
Weakened: The victim is sickened and fatigued.
Impaired: The victim is exhausted. Whenever she takes a standard or full action, she must succeed at a Fortitude save at the disease’s DC or lose the action and become nauseated for 1 minute.
Debilitated: Strenuous actions cause the victim pain. If she takes a standard action, she immediately loses 1 Hit Point.
Bedridden: The victim is awake and can converse, but she can’t stand on her own or take any other actions or reactions.
Comatose: The victim is unconscious and feverish, and can’t be woken.
Dead: The victim is dead, and her corpse may still be contagious.
