Adamantine is an adamantium alloy. Not sure about 'melts in the sun' thing, wasn't that a Baldur's Gate oversimplification? Iirc, the issue was with drow enchanters heavily relying on faerzress (underground magical radiation) to push the power of the weapons so crafted, and because of that the enchantments destabilized and failed when not exposed to at least minimal faerzress level for some time.

Although yeah, it does rise the question of whether there will be special item crafting feats that would allow one to reach past their caster level when crafting by using faerzress.

Most drow stuff does seem to actually disintegrate in direct sunlight, according to drow of the underdark. (Seems like quite the flaw if you ask me :P)

But yeah, the actual magical stuff needs some doses of radiation to get keep working properly too!

So this is all before the Liriel Baenre series. Noted.

Yes, she still head of the priestess Academy that I can't spell. The world hasn't been turned upside down yet by the Time of Troubles. None of that.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Is Ched Nasaad still around? Because I really want a kingmaker themed game where we take it back for the Spider Queen's glory!

Also, Tier Breche.

This may also produce a story that differs from "cannon" in some regards. Mainly because I haven't read everything related to this setting yet.
Never fear, however, I am borrowing everything Drow from a friend and will soon be an expert on the topic.

I am unaware of this "ached Nasaad"

Auto correct fail. Ched Nasad, the City of Shimmering Webs.

Azten wrote:

He's referring to this:

Liriel Baenre was the daughter of Gromph Baenre and was tricked by Lolth into "fixing" the sunlight things years later (Much later than the estimated current time-line) by using raw/old world magic that essentially changed the nature of the world and all Drow enchanted items.

Thus allowing Drow to come above ground during daylight hours without fear and become a threat to the surface world yet again.

Yes, still kicking. :)

OK, ya. That hasn't happened.

What's the official, final verdict on Drow Nobles? I don't care either way, though if the stats/point is too big a sticking point, perhaps a compromise of 10 for Nobles?(half everybody else).

Final Rule
DROW NOBLES: You are now operating on a 10 point buy. Please adjust your stats accordingly.
Mr Half Demon (your name has slipped my mind, sorry), this also increases by 5 to 13.
Also, Monkeygod, stop reading my mind, man. It's creepy.

Might be my fault. He's in another pbp where I have telepathy with the GM. It's probably contagious.

Thanks for that, though even with a 5 point buy, I would have stayed with drow noble because it fit his background for rp purposes... Not that I'm turning down the 5 extra points... thanks again.

Oh another question. If i were to try and make a mold to produce crossbow bolts at a somewhat more rapid pace what sort of craft check would that be? Would that lesson the cost of perhaps making my own ammo?

Suddenly I have a desire to make an evil Hawkeye with a bolt for just about everything

It would lessen the cost, yes. As to the check, it would be higher. DC 20ish probably. It's 15 to make the bolts themselves, so to get the mold right would need slightly more precision. Let's say a DC 20.

GM Choon did you have an answer for my dirty fighting question? it's less important for me with the additional 5 points (which is plenty and was something i considered suggesting), but it might help someone else to know.

I'm having a hard time with that one because it is so maneuver specific. With the additional points, I think I'm going to keep that one as a maneuver buff.

Creepy is the nickname of my best friend :) and also, what Azten said, lol.

word.

I'm going to ask a crazy question. Please don't hurt me Choon, but: Any chance we could be gestalt? I'm guessing no, which is totally fine, but I figured I would ask, just in case.

Also, since Kingmaker rules were mentioned, do you have plans to use any of the various subsystem of rules?(Kingdom building, downtime, intrigue stuff(from UI), etc)

How do you feel about Psionics? Specifically the Vitalist.

Edit: Guess I should put in what I'm thinking. Considering doing a Dhampir Vitalist/Psychic Warrior. Vitalist because I like the idea of the Vitalist's Life Leach archetype. It fits in well with the whole blood sucking, soul stealing vampiric idea. Then I'd have levels in Psychic warrior to gain a bite attack and actually be good at grappling folks to make use of the Dhampir's bite.

However, I'm also interested in trying the Vitalist out on its own. It's the only class I've seen that can handle in-combat healing effectively.

Gestalt? Uhhh, no. Not in this one. Just getting the setting right is going to take enough work. However, I do have a homebrew setting that could (man)handle a gestalt character.

Re:Vitalists, yes. I'm completely familiar with Vitalists. I've played a couple, including a soul thief.

Of you two, or anyone else here, is interested in being the big heroes taking on terrible machines/beasts/champions of battle in a nearly hopeless war of attrition where my gloves come off and death is a thing, then I can oblige.

And just now noticed that you specified Paizo classes in your first post. Eh guess i'll let the Vitalist question stand, but I'll assume a no until told otherwise.

Perhaps a warpriest or barbarian instead... hmm.

Ya, no Psionics in this one for the PC's. No promises from my side of the screen. ;)

As in we'd be trying to be the good guys in a world gone bad kind of thing?

It makes sense. Only one drow in the Drizzt series was a psion, and he showed up for only one book so Artemis would think Drizzt was really dead and give up his obsessive desire to kill him.

wasn't pretty much all of House Oblodra psionic? Kimmuriel was just the only one to survive its destruction.

You could take it that way. It's all out war, and you're the gestalt heroes who can break the stalemate.

Yes that house was psions...and he was cool.

He was pompous even for a Drow.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Jaraxle was my favorite but kim was close second.

I remember that Jaraxle could turn the noise of his jewelry and boots on and off at will. That was fantastic. I'm borrowing all those books again from a friend. Lots of reading to do...

We have about a day and a half left people. :)

I was always fond of his never ending throwing daggers myself

Hakk - Please reduce your gold to 3k and bring your point buy up by 5 if you haven't already

Ellara - I see no crunch yet.

Other than that youall seem to be on the ball. Well done.

Nice variety....

Very. It's going to be tough selecting

Just need to iron out Vicalan's goals and ambitions. Then he should be done. ;)

He is one of a handful of House Kewadin's apprentices under the House Wizard.

P.S. DM did you get my last PM?

DM: If it's alright, once I see the party makeup, I would like to finish my purchases.

Eklavdra wrote:

That's just fine. I'm not nit picking purchases as those can easily be altered.

Hardy
At 1st level, a survivalist is already prepared to endure extreme hardships and environmental conditions. She can go twice the normal number of days without water and triple the normal number of days without food before feeling the effects of either thirst or starvation.
This ability replaces trapfinding.

Sneak Attack (Ex)
If a rogue can catch an opponent when he is unable to defend himself effectively from her attack, she can strike a vital spot for extra damage.

So, re-did Jaraxus once more for 10 point buy but tried to keep him realistic. I do like to have some semibalance / look with real-life (+3 on dex is high but I guess due to being elf and their nature of "speed over power" it does justify it "normal for elves, limit of humans). Also the way of getting his Wis and Int up kind of does fit him, thinking how he would survive with his behaviour and ongoing around Menzoberran (plus being graduate of Melee Magthera)

Looks like I really need to crack down and finish Ellara.

still a WiP, but this will be my offering to the queen of spiders.

edit: i don't have a good idea off the top of my head for one, but someone should make a worshipper of Eilistraee and try to save all us poor wayward souls.

I'm going to assume you are swearing yourself to Lolth and not the Red Mantis. :)

GM Choon wrote:

Final Rule

Mr Half Demon (your name has slipped my mind, sorry), this also increases by 5 to 13.

Ok I made Hakk with a 20 point buy since his abilities (and stat bonuses) are spread out over 10 levels. I didn't know I needed to cut back. (I'm sure that's my mistake.)

@13 pts...he's already looking severely under-powered for 3rd level (compared to the other submissions I've seen) with just a 20 pt build. His current claim to fame is the fact he has multiple energy resistances, two claws and a bite, and can attack with the Multi-Attack feat. I was pushing to focus on him trying to be more than just a combat ginsu.

So rather than argue the point...go ahead and pull me out of the running. I don't have time to redo his stats (and all his variables too) right now anyway before the submission due date.

Thanks for the chance GM Choon, no hard feelings, but yet again a Draegloth character was just not meant to be.
