"Dammit!" Jeran punched the side of the building. The stone is cracked slightly from the impact. "So Ssrena is making a move. And she knows the identity of the kid who did it. I was too careless. Okay, so where is this Gustav kid now? Because if Ssrena and her faction get to him first it will not end well."

"Given the hour, Gustav should either be in the Cafeteria eating dinner, or in his room," the young monk replies. "He also mentions (rather frequently) that he is a sculptor - he could be in art studio as well." ^.^

Kitty snorts.

"Do I look like a wizard to you? There are other ways to get a familiar, you know."

"And I don't see why wizards have to live in towers. I know of quite a few who live in perfectly normal houses...and there are spells to clean off the books if they've gotten musty. That's just bad housekeeping," she said with a wink.

"If that is the case, you may require assistance to do so. Especially since you cannot be in multiple places at once."

Jeran glances at Fei. "Do what you want, I'm not stopping you. But keep in mind that this is happening because they think I'm weak because I rendered assistance during the attack from the metal dragon. If you help too much I'll never be able to get them back under control."

"You know what I mean." Is Anthony's reply. "It would be easier to go catch some for a pet than to get a familiar."

Ryleh:
Given only a few moments of searching, you spy someone covered head-to-toe in what looks like a very thin battle armor. A reflective visor hides their face, but you get the feeling your presence is known.

Especially when the person waves.

Vai is starving and exhausted after the day's events and heads towards the cafeteria for some much needed dinner.

*cough* This isn't contrived at all *cough*

Ryleh Her usual mode of dress.

::Aananda, there is a suspicious someone who was aware of being scried on in corridor 3A. They have a visor over their face. You need to check them out, it could be a student up to hijinks, or it could be one of our enemies.::

::On it,:: she thought back as she surreptitiously hit buttons on her wrist comm under the conference table, redirecting the security nanites to investigate the new threat.

"Oh, I don't know about that. A familiar comes to you, and requires a lot less training than a pet. And they're smarter than just a pet."

"It's a pretty simple trick you know, and I can teach you how if you want."

Male Kobold (Adult Black dragon) Gestalt Sorceror/Oracle Necromancer; Champion of Death

"Ok, then Jeran, you fight your pack members, we'll do the protecting."

"They're reacting."

"That's a good thing. Don't worry about him." Alton replies, making small adjustments as they worked. "If he can actually make them attack or try to capture him, all the better. If we can get the Champions active as well..."

"Then we will endeavor to render aid where you are not as much as possible. As I have already had dealings with some of your brethren before, this will not be seen as unusual. They may even seek me out as I tend to be alone much of the time."

"Which location are you going to, then?"

What trick is Kitty talking about? Saffire was created and just happened to bond to her.

How to bond a familiar. It's a rogue trick, and she knew how before, just hadn't done it. She did bond Saffire by accident, but she knows how to do it on purpose too.

Follows along...

The instant the nanites enter the hallway they are meet by another force of nanites which go on the attack immediately. The mystery person looks over his shoulder as if he can tell the miniscule battle has started. Nodding, he or she goes to a particularly plain looking door and opens it. The instant the they are through it and the door closes, Ryleh finds she can't scry what's on the other side.

Gustav finished his sculpture of "happiness". It was a piece done in six parts, with large dividers between each, so that it would need to rotate, or a person to circle it, to see each section. Each part depicted a scene of happiness - as each individual would state it.

- a young Human woman held a babe in her arms, a man looking over her shoulder
- a fierce Orc in battle held up a double axe, shouting above him, up to his knees in gore
- an ancient dragon slept on a pile of coins nearly as large as itself
- a mer-woman held up a necklace made of seashells as she rested on a rock
- a dog panted, its tail curling, as a hand and arm stroked its' neck towards its' back
- a single flower rose up from the ground, its' face to the sky

Satisfied, Gustav put the display on the drying shelf. Seeing all the other students and teacher absent, the black-haired boy shrugged. He had often worked for days without food or rest before. Finding the room empty was not a surprise. An adequate sculpture, given the materials. Inspiration critiqued from around Gustav's neck. Gustav grinned. "We'll see." he said back to the psicrystal. "But this had better not be a philosophy course disguised as an art class."

The youth left the room and wandered into the hallway, whistling a tune the dwarves had taught him in the mountains. Enough though it was no longer time for work. Gustav walked towards the cafeteria, reviewing his classes mentally in his head.

Krays wrote:

Gustav stopped. Did you **hear** that? he asked Inspiration. Hear what? was the gemstone's reply. Gustav concentrated, renewing his protective powers. "A warning. Let's get to the cafeteria." he said, taking off at a run.

Just checking. Though how 'simple' something you need to be 10th level to do is debatable. ;)

"I'll try it, but I don't know if it'll work."

"I could always try to make one for you if it doesn't." Michael suggests.

"Really? That would be really cool!"

Image (doesn't have wings)

Kitty smiled. "You might be better off just waiting for Michael to make one for you. That way you know for sure that you'll get something cool. But you still need to know how to do the trick so I'll teach it to you for when you do get one."

:Kids, we have trouble in corridor 3A. That's unused dorms at present. I need you to go and deal with it. James, don't let Ephebe go investigate alone.::

In Avalon the biggest problems are a lycanthropic rebellion and stopping world destruction.

In Anderail, the biggest problem is trying to keep Saffire from getting a stomachache.

This world is awesome.

Ephebe, Jiminy and Fieri head down corridor 3A, looking for any signs of whatever it was that Mom thought needed investigating.

::Still pretty much bed-ridden here.:: Taron tells his brother and sister. ::I can still get there if you need me though.::

The fact the walls seem to be seething with shiny dust that is constantly moving back and forth around a plain door seems to be a big give-away about what needs to be investigated.

Ephebe's eyes go purple black as she manifests her flame chakram. She scanned the area around the door and nodded to Jiminy.

Aananda responded telepathically. ::Jim, we're not sure what caused the pulse. We're investigating. There's something going on in corridor 3A. Ephebe, Jiminy, and Fieri are investigating. You should be able to catch up to them pretty quickly.::

Fei can hear screams coming from the student lounge nearest to Gustav's room as he approaches.

Male Kobold (Adult Black dragon) Gestalt Sorceror/Oracle Necromancer; Champion of Death

Nods
"Will do."
Heads to cafeteria

For now things seem normal in the cafeteria as students mill about eating dinner.

It opens quite easily, offering no resistance. It opens up to a room much too large to fit in the school without magic at work. It's walls are lined with with tiny statuettes, each different and glowing slightly, though some are brighter than others. They are being kept secure by a shimmering that is easily identified as a wall of force.

Directly across from the door stands the person Ryleh saw earlier, looking right at the trio as if waiting for them.

Warforged Engineer Alchemist 16/Armiger 16 Champion of Creation

Looking at his HUD, he manipulates the map to show where corridor 3A is in relation to himself. Enlarging himself before getting moving, Jim flips another switch, and he's gone. Assuming he's within 1000 some-odd feet of it, he reappears behind the group of them. If not, he'll take two jumps.

Upon arrival, Hey. I just got the news from Aananda. She told me to meet you guys up here.

Female Half-Elf Sorcerer6/Dragon Disciple 9

Vai is busy eating a large plate of food. She's seated near the corner, away from the crowds. She doesn't notice as Krays enters, and looks exhausted.

Imagefemale weredragon (amethyst) gestalt Soulknife17/oracle10/divine gunslinger7

Ephebe nods at Jim briefly and turns back to the figure.

Using true seeing if that matters at all.

"Who are you? What are all these statues? What's going on?"

Gustav picked up a section of beef from the server, thanking them, and adding a bottle of "sauce" to the tray. Wonderful stuff, steak sauce. He would need to take some back with him to the mountains. Gustav looked for a table to sit down at.

It does not.

"Does it matter who I am, Time?" The person asks, voice muffled but still obviously male. "Each statue represents a person in this school. Just to your left you can see your holy symbol, if you need proof."

"As for what is going on... Well, let's say that when it's over the Agartha you know will be no more. But we encourage that you try to stop us. We actually have you fighting us as part of our plan."

Ephebe felt a wave of cold go over her at those words. She seemed to flicker for a moment and then there was something a little different about her appearance, but nothing that you could easily pinpoint.

DC 40 Perception:

Spoiler:
Ephebe's armor is a darker shade than it was a second ago.

"Oh, goody, it's the lure the heroes into a time-wasting fight gambit. Cause this one never gets old," she said sarcastically.

A large humanoid crocodile grabs a student and tosses them into a wall with a sickening thud while a humanoid jackal laughs hysterically and smashes a desk across a (hopefully) unconscious student. The lounge is total chaos as students run screaming trying to get away.

Perception:1d20 + 21 ⇒ (19) + 21 = 40

"Actually, revealing ourselves saves us time. If I had cared to pay attention to that know-it-all, I could explain what that means. All I can say is that it is really too bad that there aren't more than four of you here."

"Now, I noticed a small change in your armor since you walked through the door, so I assume either you are ready to fight or trying to keep me distracted. It doesn't matter to me which it is, but I am starting to get bored."

Male Unknown 16 Invulnerable Rager/ 16 Hex Crafter Magus

Enre going to fight Lycans, if you guys need him for Battle Suit there, just call him or something.

As Enre walks he hears students screaming sighing he changes his clothes to his armor and changes the knife back to his sword. Running he gets to the lounge seeing A humanoid crocodile and a humanoid jackal attacking students shaking his head he says "Shouldn't you pick on people that can fight back?"
