The Avalon Chronicles

Game Master lynora

This is a high level rules light game set in a school for magical kids, kinda a mash-up of Soul Eater, Harry Potter, and X-Men. :)

"It's not an invasion, it's a kidnapping. He only threatened the invasion...I don't think he can do it, but there's a chance that he could attack Kuros or the firebird camp and neither of those is acceptable either. So we need to tell the headmaster about the threats, get some help for the victims of the cultists, possibly get some people to hunt down the cultists, though that may prove problematic, and definitely go rescue Tryko'Sam from the Abyss. And since the headmaster is on the Council of High Seers, I'm pretty sure that means he can do some divination," he added just a touch sarcastically.

Laying in the infirmary bed, Vai twitched slightly, slowly opening her eyes. She still felt exhausted and sore. Healing magic and nanites only worked so far and so fast, especially given the limited resources in the wake of the attack.

She forced her eyes open though, staring up at the ceiling, listening to the slow beep of equipment attached to her.

Even the act of holding her eyes open for long was somewhat exhausting so she closed them once again.

"Lumos, let's talk." she whispered quietly to the empty room.

The lights in her room flickered in a pattern she recognized as 'I'm listening'.

Pyry Soleil wrote:

Drawing attention to himself wasn't something Pyry normally did, he worked up enough resolve to raise a shaky hand and go first.

"My name is.. is Pyry K-Kennet Soleil... I.. I lived on a mountain for a while. It was nice and cold, and I kinda had a snow leopard for company. She came here with me."

Rena grinned at Pyry's boldness, given that it was somewhat unexpected for his quiet demeanor. She'd have to ask him about the snow leopord later.

I usually live on the Plane of Dreams." she states happily, looking to the teacher for approval before returning to her seat.

Male Firebird Monk (Master of Many Styles, Martial Artist) 16 // Firebender 8/Earthbender 8

To say that Ardiente's life was in a state of upheaval would but something of an understatement. Within the past 5 days, he had lost his parents, his home, and any semblance of the dedication he had put forth towards the del Sol family for the past twelve of his seventeen years. His oaths, broken and cast aside.

...

Somehow, in spite of all this, the young Firebird bender wandered into his Drama class with a lazy grin, his mind rejecting thinking of all the depressing things, in favour of savouring the memory of the feel of Raelle's lips on his...

Hopefully his Professors would be lenient, because this young Firebird has his beak in the clouds, as it were.

Female Firebird

In stark contrast to Ardiente's happy daze, Lily Svarog was not at all pleased with the state of affairs. Surely, this provincial school was an improvement over the sorry state of the refuge camp, though the comparison wasn't as far off as she had originally anticipated. She hadn't expected there to be quite so many... plebes.

It was going to take an herculean effort to keep her mouth from running away from her and snapping at the so called 'Teachers'.

Not everyone. Hope is with us. Time would have been if not for that foolish girl. Like you, she doesn't know what is best for her. It's just as well. It is easier without her. This is what must be. We all struggle for supremacy. Now is my turn.

I have planned well. Not only will they not hurt me, but they will protect me from the others. For you. No, I will not kill you as they fear....but I can make things very painful for you. So be a good girl and do as you're told.

It was like someone had punched her in the gut. Vai couldn't breathe, curling slightly into herself on the infirmary bed. She was caught again by a force more powerful than herself. It was somehow worse now... Aegythrax had abused her body and mind... But Lumos was going to use her own love to hurt the very people she cared for.

She couldn't even tell anyone. Lumos would just make her black out with pain if she tried. She wouldn't even be able to kill herself to free her family...

"Why are you doing this? You are Light itself. You should be better than this." Vai whispered, the pain in her heart forcing her to curl up on her side, as tears slowly wet her pillow.

I'll kill you. I'm sure Lysander would help. :)

I am the best. But everyone makes that mistake. They confuse light with good. I don't care about petty things like good and evil. I am. That is enough. I have planned this perfectly and they will all acknowledge my supremacy in time.

adon is still rather manic, but hasn't done anything that odd yet. adon nods, before entering a more offensive posture, waiting for you to attack again. He eyes her hand, watching it's movements closely.

adon intends to strike at her hand after blocking instead of a entirely normal riposte, in an attempt to force her to drop the weapon. I don't know her combat skills, so it's up to you exactly how well that attempt goes.

Sadie moved to attack, an easy attack that Adon easily blocked, but the riposte was not as she expected it to be. Instead of letting him hit her hand she tosses the sword in the air and draws her hand out of the way, catching the sword in her left hand.

"Well, it seems we've moved beyond basics," she said lightly, her balance not as strong with the left hand, though certainly better than being disarmed entirely. "The rest of you break into pairs and practice on your own now."

Vai was unresponsive for a long while, her sobs going from gentle to violent as her body tried to forcefully expel the pain that had curled around Vai's heart.

By the time she'd cried herself out, Vai wasn't sure if Lumos was still there or not, but she whispered quietly, mostly for her own benefit. "You won't break me. Aegythrax didn't break me, and neither will you."

Aananda was rapidly exhausting her limited vocabulary of curse words. She sent a message to Phaezeriel asking him to talk at his earliest convenience regarding the murdered girls. She also sent a message to Keme asking him to meet her at her lab, with a warning that she might be held up on the way there.

The creature looks back and makes a rude gesture at Lily, "Go ahead and try, leg!" It is clear as the creature gains a little distance, that it is a young kobold, but one that is far more draconic looking than most of its race. It is also apparent that he is, actually, a very skilled flier; had he not been, Lily would likely have been struck.

"What? No! I did do the assignment! Look, see, here's the curve of the vase, here's the table it's sitting on, here's the background," she said, pointing out details in the fractal pattern she painted that are obvious to her but totally invisible to anyone else.

"I'm giving you a failing mark on this assignment. Lying to me doesn't make your refusal to do the work any better," the teacher said, disapprovingly.

"But I wasn't lying!" Raelle protested. "This is really what I see..."

"Enough! You will stop now or you will have detention in addition to a failing mark."

Raelle shut her mouth, flushed with anger, gripping her paintbrush so tightly it's snapped.

"Thank you. I'm new. My name is Archena."
She looks at Raelle's painting.
"Um. I don't. I don't think that's fair. Elaine told me that art and music is about expressing what you feel and how you see things. Maybe this is how she sees the vase. This is like how she experiences the vase. You can kind of see the colors. And Elaine said that everyone sees things differently. Maybe she just sees things differently like shapes."
She seems to be explaining some of the philosophy behind the use if art itself, but doesn't quite have to vocabulary for it.

After a few minutes of wallowing, Vai's hand twitched slightly and there was a curious crinkling noise. Curiosity pierced through pain, and Vai looked down to see a piece of paper in her hand. A piece of paper that hadn't been there during her conversation with Lumos.

She carefully unfolded it, reading the note. Her eyes widened sharply and she gasped. Her Mom might be mad... but Lumos would be able to interfere with her nanite treatment anyway. This might be another option. She just had to act, and quickly...

Vai tore out her IV drip, wincing at the pain and the angry beep from the monitors, dropping the note on the bed, and casting a teleportation spell, not using her Champion ability, but instead her own power, to teleport out of the room...

The note, forgotten in her haste, rests on the bed. It reads:

Note:

""I know your pain and offer a solution. Meet me off of school grounds, by the wall of the west side gardens, and I shall get you out of your Championship."
