"Thank heaven for small miracles," he says, shaking his head in disbelief.

"Says the niece with the strength to move a mountain." Keaton chuckles. "This must be how your father's arm felt when your mother first started pulling him around."

The orbs were scanning Keaton the whole time. ::Alterations failed to take hold, artifact reaction nullified effect::. Seemed to him that was what he should of expected of low quility work. If the subject had no complaints then he would simply store the data for future use.

She let the memories flood through their mental link so he could see the full extent of what had happened while he was gone...the assassination attempts on Ephebe...the information that she had changed bodies every time she died in the time loop and was currently in a demon-modified body...the difficulty of stabilizing her after the young man she'd imprinted on had rejected her...her current rebellious attitude as she tried to figure out a new set of abilities...the incident with Asch....and all of the stuff that happened in between.
"I thought I could handle things by myself for a while, but I had no idea that Ephebe was going to have a major life crisis or three. I'm at my wit's end with that girl. The boys have been surprisingly well behaved though. So that's something."

She ignored Soli because she didn't really know how to talk to him. She was just going to leave that to Grandma for now. This was going to be problematic though since he was one of the new Champions she was supposed to be mentoring. Yeah, right. Like he'd ever bother to listen to her.

She scarfed down a plate of hamburgers and a five gallon tub of salad.
"Oil and water would be a better comparison, since oil makes fire burn longer."

The kobold nods. "I thought I'd find you here. I have a...extra-credit assignment for you. Where is your brother? The troublesome one--James, I believe."
