Yet another reason I want a Charmander.
lol. Yep, portable campfire is always a plus when choosing a pet. :)

I will admit to having only the slightest amount of pokemon knowledge. My son was never really into it, which surprised me. Then again so does his inexplicable fascination with power rangers. >.<
I watched a few episodes of the pokemon cartoon, and it was entertaining enough, but I just never really connected with it. No idea why not. It can't be because it was repetitive. I've seen every episode of Dragon Ball, Dragon BallZ, Dragon Ball Z Kai and am currently catching up on episodes of Dragon Ball GT that I missed....why do I keep watching this show???? It never changes....

It's just how we roll!

Anybody else getting a blank page when they directly link to the Campaign Info tab? I've done this on my home web page for speed, and all I saw was a white Firefox screen with "Online Campaigns" at the top.

Reset your bookmark. I changed the campaign title to just The Avalon Chronicles. Can't change the thread titles though.

Thanks, lyn. That's what it was - changed bookmark.
I vote for "Bhava Devwale", shortening to "Bhava" after a couple of centuries by the Humans but not the longer-lived species. Much like Frank Herbert's Arrakis became Rakis.
Honestly, it's like you guys think I'm this evil overlord wanna-be out to destroy the world or something.
Well, look at Japan's enforced isolationism in its' Edo Period or China's turning inward for several centuries. Yes, it makes for a stable society...until the black-hulled ships arrive.

Well, mine as the army and all. No I was not kidding, there really was an army. And no I cannot get rid of the army, changes way to much.
I figure I shall explain in a post than in an email :D. Anyway the army I keep talking about is Enre's race. Per nice story I wrote they are basically super soldiers and well have nothing to fight. They are currently finding someone to work for or a way to live like the other races. This may sound easy but let me give an example, it would be like trying to teach a lion not to eat meat, to get them to not be soldiers.
Enre's oldest brother is the leader of the group, to find another way to live. Old leader was their mother. He is currently trying to find Enre to see if he acts like they do or not. Since Enre did not turn out like them he will find someone in charge and ask if his followers can stay and raised their children different. The adults will offer their skills as warriors in exchange for letting them stay and helping their children.
There is more but since planet went all off, going to have to wait on that.

Lyn I might also use this juncture to bring in some new characters (1 character just isn't cutting it anymore). One is definitely going to be related to the recent world-ending cataclysm, but I might also bring in a tech-based character... we shall see.
Will that be a problem?
Not at all. It's always been okay for people to play more than one character. All I ask is that people give themselves time to get used to the game with one character first. You've had plenty of time for that, so you're all good.

Okay, so basically we're talking about a group of refugees here? Were they already on the planet or are they coming in from space? It definitely effects when would be good for them to come in.

Also, I'm imagining pre-Taron-ruining-everything-Agartha as very similar to the Halo rings, except a full sphere with the sun at the centre. That's correct? Meaning, in theory, you could SEE the other side of the planet with a powerful enough telescope?
Yes, that's exactly right. The layer of earth between the surface and the inner surface was quite deep....deep enough to have an underdark, and the only thing that kept the underdark inhabitants from digging deep enough to come out on the planet's surface was the wards the would redirect them when they got too close.

lynora |

Here is why that doesn't make sense to me.
How in the world was there a night time at all if the sun was in the center!?
Because that was when the firebirds turned off the fires that made the sun shine during the day. That's their whole purpose living in the sun, to light the fires in the morning and put them out at night.
The people on this planet are going to have a hard time adjusting to the idea of different time zones since everyone has the same day when the sun is in the center of the world.

lynora |

I always thought the world was floating in the center and the Sun was up in the ceiling. You know, to represent actual orbit so the first people to come here didn't have to worry about getting used to a new day/night scheme.
???
No, and in fact this isn't the first time we've had this conversation about the underdark being adjacent to outside as well as the sky not being real sky. Otherwise they wouldn't have had to put so much effort into rearranging the gravity so that 'down' would always be towards the ground.
Edit: The first people to come here came from so many different worlds that everyone was getting used to a new day/night scheme anyways.

Okay than, thanks Lynora. Going to go do that than. Is that okay?
