What really scares me is how peoples first thought is how they can build a character and combine options to superify something.
Though I will grant that I never had the opportunty to try something like it at even medium levels. Of course I almost never get to play at anything above lvl 5 and even that high is rare. This here is like my fourth game in 15 years that was above level 10 (sixth game above lvl 5) one of them was specifically a god game and didnt run anything like standard games at all, so I guess I just dont deal with high level concepts enough.
Oh, and those numbers include the fact that I spent two years in the army with four to six games running at a time (each on different nights).

You want scary? Spell Specialization(Firestorm). +2 caster level.
Spell Perfection(Firestorm). Spontaneously cast it even as a prepared caster and double flat numerical bonuses from feats(Spell Penetration and Greater Spell Penetration, for example, would add a total of +8 to overcome SR, while Spell Focus[evocation] and Greater Spell Focus[evocation] add a total of +4 to the DC of Firestorm). Also add a Metamagic for free if it wouldn't put the final spell level above 9.

Now with 1 game day being 8 weeks RL of late that's
182 days game x 8 weeks real life that's = 1506 weeks or = around 28 years from now RL time until I can play my dragon PC.

We usually have a few plots, then a time skip, rinse repeat.
Leaving becasue the pace isn't for you, well, I've heard worse reasons for leaving.

I believe that with Lyn not able to post much due to school and family, that may be the reason it is taking a while for this day to end.
I do hope to see the conclusion of the plague soon though (but it is only for selfish reasons as I have a PC that is a result of the aftermath of the plague.
I can pretty much move Lang along without any problems as they will be flying into the night.
and Mel is just jamming with some new friends in the rehearsal room. that scene can move along at any time.
of course if Ace goes looking for Mel, she may sing for him. I already picked a couple of songs for her to sing.
Yah school and being in a more sociable environment more often has caused my posting to drop a lot. Currently with Dom I'm just waiting to see what everyone else and the rage zombies do. After I'll do my thing, but I'm in no hurry.

Capt, I'm sorry about the wait. I know it can be frustrating when the action stalls out a bit. I feel frustrated that you decided to bring it up in both the recruitment and discussion threads. It was kind of a crappy thing to do. Bring it up in discussion, fine. That's part of what discussion is here for. There's nothing wrong with raising a concern. And then we can discuss it. No problem. But there's no need to raise that concern across multiple threads. That just takes more mop-up time later.
Now, on to the actual concern. Yes, this weekend has taken an incredibly long time to play out. Part of the problem is that it started with a major campaign event. These are pretty rare, and days that they occur on or that directly follow them take a very long time to play, more so than others. Then add in that I had previously scheduled a couple of scenarios for that same time that different people had asked me to run for them, and then the 'crimes of opportunity' as they were, not to mention that the weekend ends with another campaign event....well, this would have taken a very long time to play out under the best of circumstances. When you take into account that a number of the players and the GM are in school and have limited time...well, it's been stretching things a bit, and I am sorry that we're having such a hard time wrapping things up. Once we're through it, we'll be back to our more usual hop-skip-jumping through time (cue the training montage!) between events like we normally do. At this point all I can do is apologize for how long it takes me to get through these scenarios at present. A large part of it is that I am taking a very heavy courseload this term so I can finish out my associates degree. And I'm also trying to figure out schools to apply to so I can get my bachelors degree after this. And find scholarships to apply for, etc. And I still have the mommy stuff to do. And yeah, I'm way short on time. I'm doing my best to keep things going rather than putting the game on hiatus. That's really all I can do. Look around the site and you'll find that this is something that happens to pretty much every PBP GM from time to time. Real life happens. Games slow down. The good ones get going again after real life backs down a little. Now, I can offer you one piece of good news. In about five weeks my courseload gets a lot lighter. My most work intensive class only goes for seven and a half weeks. So that's a little something to look forward to. In the meantime, I promise I am trying to get things moving as fast as I can. Some nights I'm just too tired to think straight and that definitely keeps me from posting. Some nights I'm so bad off I'm looking at my homework and can't figure out if I'm trying to do line commands, physics, or english. :/

sorry had to get that out of my system, it's been snowing for the past 5-6 hours, and it's been awesome
plus I found out today that school days in collage are actually sometimes a thing (all classes from 4 today to 12 tomorrow are canceled!!!!!)
lol. Snow days in college are why I had time to post today. I didn't have to go to class, so I've been able to just focus on getting homework done. And since my husband is out of town on a business trip tonight, I should be able to get more work done...maybe even kind of caught up. Yeah, right. Like that ever happens. But I can dream. :P

It doesn't help the pace that my free time is also laughable right now. Guh.

I feel cheap doing this after Lurch, but I also want to say that I also really love this game and I really do appreciate everyone running it.
I don't really have a lot of good friends, but I really love you guys here playing this.
I kinda feel like you're my extended online family here and I'm really glad that we do this as more than game, that we share things with each other. None of my other games do this, and I feel like this is something really special we have here.
No need to feel like that, Magic; your observations are perfectly valid and appreciated. I really like the community that we have here as well; it would be really neat to be able to meet some of you in person.

I have been thinking a bit in this down time...
since this day is going on for a while, and there are a lot of major story events going on...
I can sense that there are those that would like to see the time skip come once this day is over.
I am willing to simply sum up Lang's ceremony and post that. since there are no major story events in the works, it was simply a role play thing.
I do not want everyone to be waiting on me. I just want everyone to enjoy the game once we are rolling again.
there can be s short flurry of posts to respond to the sum up, but we can just keep it to a minimum so as to not bore others.
