The Avalon Chronicles

Game Master lynora

This is a high level rules light game set in a school for magical kids, kinda a mash-up of Soul Eater, Harry Potter, and X-Men. :)

I think the main problem is that he's using two prepared casting classes for a spontaneous system.

Just use the spell points system from Unearthed Arcana and reflavor. It already has just about everything thought out and "balanced" and even has a vitalizing option.

In it spells always manifest at the lowest level you could cast them at, then you have to spend additional points to increase the caster level for the effects. Thus, it is quite simple to blend in any other aspects you want.

Male Weremonkey Rogue/Ranger/Trickster

I was totally gonna link to the spell points, but noooo, I'm stuck in a hospital cuz I broke my toe so bad at work today, it needed surgery to be fixed.

Thankfully, I have my laptop due to a dear friend, and I'm only here(hopefully) overnight.

Take it easy MG. It looks like we've got it covered. :)
I had surgery on both my toes. Pro tip: Get the pain meds perscription filled /immediately/ it will feel like you are dying from the toe up a couple hours after the surgery ends.

Male Weremonkey Rogue/Ranger/Trickster

You only have two toes Tybs? That's a bummer.

This isn't my first major surgery, as I had more or less total reconstructive surgery done on my ankle in 2005.

But thanks for the support Tybs.

And yes, I will keep calling you that, cuz to me, that's who ya really are :P

Reapling (scout form) rogue, black blooded oracle, gestalt lvl 16

Whee! Finally have my spell list completely worked out. Some very interesting things I found too. Music of the Spheres is very cool, I can't wait try it, oh and firestorm, I might just try that when the prisoners are free. I totally didn't realize just how awesome some high level spells can get.

I almost got delay pain, cause I want to know what these creatures we are fighting feel about having their pain removed from them. Might just make them angry, but the look on their faces would be priceless.

Nope Dom has not met Tarka.

I can't remember if Dave has met Tarka or not
I am almost certain skeets has not

Thankfully I still have all ten. :P
I had surgery on the two big ones to keep them from being ingrown.
I couldn't wear closed shoes or flipflops and sandals weren't on sale cause it was fall, so I took a pair of flipflops and ripped the rubber part out and wrapped them in duct tape and made shoes out of them.
And don't mind being called Tybs. ;)

Here is the Spell Point system, complete with 'augmentation' mechanic.

Who were the students giving Tarka a hard time for how he lives in the Kolbold's body?

You could try the dread psionic class instead

Nah. We already have two dreads.

maybe you could be a dread inquisitor then maybe you could be Judge Dredd

@ed: I'm missing something
@magic: how big is our cast list

nevermind...

It's either a comic book or a movie. Eddy made a funny. ;)

It's large, but that would be three just straight dreads and it's not like other stuff where it's custom with options and stuff. It's all the same.

Female shantak Dread 1,

size- large within school bounds, huge outside. Oozes slime. Knowlage on a shantak is very hard to come by- they are poorly known.

I know someone that could make a lot of water without destroying things...
:P
But srsly, Tyrinn or Dave can contact me.
I have a feeling Dave wouldn't want Tybs in danger, but Tyrinn might think of it.

A tidal wave from nowhere! its a class feature... 60 ft across x3 per day

What class /are/ you, BTW?

Male Icy Catfolk Image Warlock/Rogue 16

I can /make/ 2560 cubic feat of ice and melt it into water.

M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1

How?
What settro does takes an 8th level spell.

Male Icy Catfolk Image Warlock/Rogue 16

Wall of ice
10 feet per caster level 160
160*12 for inches 1920
1inch thick per CL
1920*16=30720
30720/12 to put it back in feet 2560 cubic feet

Either have Dom melt it or use water shaping to do it myself.

M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1

Oh.

Curse you math.

Though...

I realize now there is no limit to the size of a polymorph any object spell on an object, so long as the object itself is less then 1600 cubic feet.

In other words, the spell can make a lake out of a pebble.

This is 4th level, but it's used for it's intended reason.
Polymorph any object is for making one thing into another and is much more ranged. This is explicitly for making ice.

M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1

Polymorph any object is the most powerful spell ever.

It is so poorly worded, it could make a sun the size of the universe.

This is why there's a DM...

Due to its gravitational effects it immediately collapses upon the person who made it.

and a wish (to Shenron) restores the universe to normal

M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1

Indeed. But just because the dm can fix it, doesn't mean it wasn't broken in the first place.

"Rule zero fallacy"

Uh, who is shenron.

And the point is everything in the universe instantly dies.

A wish spell cannot recreate the universe.

M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1

Note-

I am aware how stupid and broken this use of polymorph any object is, I'm just pointing out how poorly worded it is. I don't try and use spells to a greater degree of power then intended. (save wish, so it can backfire for plot in other campains)

Either have Dom melt it or use water shaping to do it myself.

Error one, 1 cubic foot contains 1728 cubic inches, thus you must take the cubic inches and divide by 1728.

Error two, 10 feet per side, so 100 square feet per CL.( the spell even says a tenth level wizard makes 1000 square feet)

Error three, 144 square inches in a square foot.

So
10*10*16=1600 Square feet
1600*144=230400 converted to inches 144 square inches per square foot, still only 2D
230400*16=3686400 added thickness for 3D
3686400/1728=2133.3333 converted to cubic feet

double check,
minus 12 inches from thickness for cubic feet to equal square feet for 1600 cubic feet.
the remaining 4 inches is one third of a foot, so for each square foot add one third of a cubic foot and you get 2133 and a third.

However, ice has a greater volume then water. I don't remember the ratio right now but that means when melted it will be fewer cubic feet of water.

Edit: Found it. Water has a density of 1.0 and ice has a density of .92. Thus take the ice volume and decrease by about 8% for a water volume of about 1962 cubic feet, though this is an approximate cause I am not going through fractions for this this.

EDIT to IDEA!

Sorcerer instead of Wizard...

That is all

I kinda liked the wizard. You could've had duel familiars.

Shadow Lodge

Male. Vaguely humanoid Ninja 3/Bard 1/Ranger 2/Scholar 1

sorcerers can have familiars,
my first one in our first campaign had a familiar, remember, celestial hawk, turned into celestial gravity elemental,
I could pop him into a tattoo,
remember?
good times, good times

I miss that game. :(
