I've lost track of time, recently. I was listening to this, and the time just flew by. I'm not even doing anything in particular. I think I'm going to take a nap soon, though. I'm getting rather tired.
Edit: ^Tired ramblings

Lol, I think my telepathic potential is growing. See for yourself. My character's background and what we know about the NPC.
It's eerie how similar my idea was...

I'll try to get more stuff up for the Khoda conversation tomorrow. I have to remember stuff from quite a while back which means tracking down old emails and messages. And normally I would take care of that behind the scenes, but right now I have a nasty cold and the fever is getting to me. I keep spacing out.
And the same goes for writing out Nala's test.
I can manage ongoing conversations but I'm having real trouble with big textblocks.

Vai's Champion Powers (for your viewing pleasure):
Spectrum Spray (1/day): Vai sends out a blast of bright light from every end of the electromagnetic spectrum, causing a variety of effects. This functions similar to the spell Prismatic Spray with the following exceptions: The spell does not automatically blind targets. Instead, any sensitive instruments for light detection (such as telescopes or x-ray scanners) are either damaged or destroyed, based on GM discretion and how sensitive the instruments are. Roll a d8 and consult the following chart to determine additional effects. The DCs of these saves are equal to 10 + 1/2 Vai's level + her Cha mod.
1 - Radio - Intense Radio waves heat up the target's body from the inside, causing blisters and burns to erupt all over the target's body. Takes 50 fire damage and must make a fortitude save or become dazed for 1d4 rounds and sickened for 1d4 minutes.
2 - Microwave - Microwaves bombard the target, causing severe burning, and blood vessels to explode. The target must make a reflex save or take 30 fire damage and take 10 bleed damage. A successful save negates the bleed damage.
3 - Infrared - Infrared radiation heats the target to high levels. Target takes 100 fire damage, reflex save for half.
4 - Visible - Incredibly bright visible light strikes the creature. The target must make a fortitude save or become permanently blinded. A successful save means the creature is only dazzled for 1d6 hours. Creatures with Light Sensitivity get no save.
5 - Ultraviolet - UV light degrades the target's immune system, damages their eyes, and burns skin. The target must make a fortitude save or gain a -8 penalty on saves against diseases, become blinded for 1 hour and sickened for 1d6 days. A successful save negates all these effects.
6- X-ray - A blast of intense x-ray radiation causes the target to grow immediately sickened. The target takes 20 acid damage and must make a fortitude save or be nauseated for an hour, and unless they receive immediate treatment they will thereafter die. A successful save reduces the nauseation to 1 round and negates the death effect.
7 - Gamma - The intense gamma ray blast slices through cells, ripping apart DNA and cell structures, and ionizing individual atoms. Living creatures must make a Fortitude save or die instantly. Non-living creatures and creatures that succeed the fortitude save take 20 acid damage instead.
8 - Creature is struck by two rays. Roll twice on the table and apply both effects.
Dispel Darkness (2/day): Vai can dispel any magical darkness of any level. This does not increase the light level in the space.
Prismatic Spray (2/day): As the spell. DCs for the saves are equal to 10 + 1/2 Vai's level + her Cha mod.
Lesser Powers:
Control Light Level (at will): Vai can reasonably control the light level in any room she is in. In an outdoor or extremely large indoor space, she can control a radius of about 300ft centered on her. The light cannot be bright enough to blind and cannot be completely dark (though may be reduced to dim-light).
Target Painting (at will): Vai can create a small laser beam, ideal for painting targets. As a standard action, she can put a target painting laser on the enemy. This negates any concealment or cover bonuses the target might have. Vai can maintain this as a free action as long as the target remains in her line of sight.

Thanks guys. After all, Vai isn't Champion of Visible Light ;). It was difficult to try and differentiate each of the spectra (since all the research I did found little difference between radio, microwave and infrared and the effects of intense energies of those. The higher energy light was easier to deal with (UV/xray/gamma), since they are more immediately deadly. I tried to make each ray feel distinct at the same time. Much obliged.
I might switch up the prismatic spray with something like a support ability similar to the Paladin of Holy Light's nimbus-aura-thingie. And maybe add a minor power to Vai to give her the ability to tap into non-magical radio frequencies (would give her a way to communicate over long distances XD)

I suppose in all fairness I should try to follow Vai's example....

Champion of Courage Lesser Boons:
- Intrepid Aura:
All sentient creatures within 200 feet of the Champion of Courage feel more - for lack of a better term - 'brave'. This has no mechanical game benefit, but those affected are more able to speak their minds, are less self-conscious, have more confidence and belief in themselves, etc. - Plucky:
The Champion of Courage is immune to all fear effects (magical or otherwise).
*
Champion of Courage Boons:
- Bold Rally:
Twice per day, for a number of minutes equal to his Charisma modifier, all allies that can perceive the Champion of Courage are inspired to acts of tremendous heroism. They gain a +4 morale bonus to AC, all saving throws, and all attack and weapon damage rolls. This is a mind-affecting ability. - Valor's Mantle:
For a number of rounds per day equal to his Charisma modifier, all of the Champion of Courage's attacks (whether physical or magical) act as if they have the ability to overcome any energy resistance or damage reduction the target has. They also act as if under the effects of a true strike spell for purposes of defeating concealment. These rounds do not need to be used consecutively.
*
Champion of Courage Greater Boon:
- Call of Heroes:
Using worlds of ancient power to summon the brave to action,Spoiler:the Champion of Courage bestows heroic powers on all allies within 100 feet. They gain a +4 morale bonus on attack and damage rolls, gain 20 temporary hit points, and become immune to both fear and charm effects. The Call lasts up to 10 minutes per level of the Champion, and when it ends the subjects become fatigued. This is a mind-affecting ability.[cough]ASSEMBLE!!!!!!!![/cough] (^-^)

And I am inexplicably feeling the urge to give Fei a magical shield...;P
Which is exactly the same thing I was thinking after seeing The Avengers and then looking at my notes again today. I must have been channeling when I cooked these up in February...
But there are far worse things in this gaming world than being compared to The Cap, neh? ;D

Like Vai needs more of a reason to hang around with Fei ;). You'll have to remind me of this from time to time.
Very nice, Fei. I haven't seen the Avengers yet though. :P

Vai did benefit from this once before, so I made sure to leave it in. :)

Well, it definitely got started as a collaboration. But yeah, dra hasn't been on much lately. I'll send a PM letting him know that he doesn't have to worry about catching up since he has great IC reasons for being out of the loop and to let him know that we can move forward with this story as soon as he's ready.

Heh. It has been a popular tactic...only temporarily unpopular since there's a good chance that a smart bad guy would try to push Krays over the moral event horizon by attacking Ephebe....good thing the current enemy isn't known for tactics.
Edit: A smart enemy would be unlilely to try the reverse, meaning attacking Krays to push Ephebe over the edge because of the likelihood of ending up in a Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds, situation. After all, evil Ephebe has resources good Ephebe is carefully ignoring. :)
| Krays |
So far everyone who's attmpted to send Krays over then edge had ened up in the staff. For people to keep trying is the very definition of insanity :)
An evil Krays is capable of mass amoutns of destruction via undead hordes...but I dunno if his boss would be ok with that.
| lynora |
Wheras Ephebe's boss has already established that as long as his domain is safeguarded, he really doesn't care if she decides she needs to run the universe....she wouldn't be the first megalomaniac champion of time, after all....as long as she doesn't b low up too much of it in the process of getting there it's all the same to him. :)
Also, Ive noticed that evil and insanity often go together....:)
