Background:Eric's the youngest of seven sons. When he turned 16 his father gave him a sword, armor, a horse, some supplies and most importantly a letter of introduction Pathfinder Soceity Venture Captain Ambrus Valsin. When traveling to famed Pathfinder Academy in far off Absalom, a man in black stole his horse and the saddlebags with the letter in it.
Peronality: Friendly, but abrasive. Eric has a real gift for saying the worst thing at the worst moment, especaily to members of the opposite sex. In the two weeks since he's left home he's been slapped in the face by five barmaids, punched by a by a mild mannered preistess of Shelyn and kicked in the shin by a little girl in pigtails holding a dolly...and propositioned by an overly amorous, over weight, over sixty, innkeeper's wife.
Appearance: At six feet, six inches tall, 220 lbs Eric is very tall and well muscled. He has shoulder length red hair that he usally wears in a braid and very light beard that's he's extremely proud of his ability to produce. He has sea green eyes, and very bright red hair. He's 16 and 2 weeks old.

The adventure has an "old school" structure (2E AD&D), but our foes will be Pathfinder variations, so ultimately we will use skills, feats, spells, etc. from the current Pathfinder material to match the challenges ahead.
ad.
There is a conversion forum, I think someone may have taken this approach and posted or hosted it somewhere. It may be worth a look to save done work.

Wow - Six foot six? What a bruiser! Looks good. I like playing a fighter in Pathfinder. Add a feat every level, and you can create a blazing dealer of death in many forms...have even seen a whirling dervish in a desert campaign that was really cool.

I will see if I can find it. Although, I think the majority of creatures can be straight substitutes using the PF variants instead of the AD&D ones. Mechanical stuff, on the other hand, might be more trickier. We shall see, and conquer each obstacle as it arises.

To All: I have been pretty busy the past 2 days, so will not complete the final work on the FB group until the weekend. In the meantime, send me a private message telling me your FB username/ID, so I can find you on that system and get you added to the group when it is finalized (hopefully Saturday afternoon or evening). I would also be interested in knowing if anyone lives outside of the U.S. time zones, so I can take that into consideration for the pace of postings. Thanks!

This was my build for the monster of all deathtraps--Gary Gygax's Tomb of Horrors. It was written as a semi-joke by him for those who were jaded and wanted a 'real challenge'. Legend has it he TPKed 75% or more of those who went through it.
To avoid too much spoilering--the obvious concentration on trapfinding, the feat that allowed me to notice traps when not actively looking, the two bags of trick to send small animals exploring, and magic items to detect traps all came in handy. So Wesley was not hurt by a trap although he had to inevitably spring a few. The party did not make it to the amazing finale.
Finally, save or die traps is a mentality that Pathfinder has tried to avoid now. So Tomb of Horrors would be a shock to anyone used to CR balanced Pathfinder encounters.

Just started using this website so how do you send a private message?
From Paizo's Help/Faq Page:
What are private messages?
Private messages are direct text-only messages between individual paizo.com members. You may format your messages using messageboards BBCode. You cannot edit messages after they have been sent. There is no delivery confirmation for private messages, and no guarantee that the recipient will ever see or reply to a message.
Where are my private messages?
Your private messages are on the "Private Messages" tab on your profile page, which you can access by clicking the envelope icon next to your name at the top of the page. If you have unread messages the icon will be highlighted and the number of new messages will be displayed next to it.
How do I send someone a private message?
Find that person's profile page, and click "Send Private Message." You may also click "Add to Address Book" to make it easier to find them later. If you do not see either of these links, that person has either opted out of private messaging or blocked messages from you.

I will send you my facebook information through private message. Hopefully, I am not too late.
Standing before you is a 5' 11" bespectacled man with greying brown hair and icy blue eyes, clutching a cylindrical leather case and a thick book. He looks fit, for someone who spends his days poring over musty tomes - even though he still appears to be lean and not too keen on swinging around his stave or dagger. As he notices you, he greets you cordially and beckons you over, offering you a chair.
Balthasar is kind and charming; he is still in his early thirties, and is more spry and lithe than most wizards. He staunchly believes in the superiority of arcane knowledge and applies himself in his studies and work with the vision of a future where magic will solve everyone's problems without the intercession of fickle deities. Knowing that his point of view will not be well met by the devout, he keeps his opinions to himself - and similarly, is more understanding of other views in minority.
(His background might make more sense in a Golarion setting, so I made it as loose and generic as possible for the time being.) Balthasar is from a prominent family of diabolists and devil-binders, although he chose to leave his house for a more well-rounded magical education. He chooses to keep this secret, as well as his family name.

Hi there!
I just came here by way of this post
I've got no problem with core classes only, but are archetypes allowed?
| Lady Ladile |
Heya! Tentatively dotting for interest, though I do have a couple of questions :)
(1) Are you recruiting on a first come, first serve basis? I ask because I could probably come up with a character for any of the classes you mentioned (plus monk if you allow them) but due to work constraints it would probably be late Friday night or sometime Saturday before I could have a finished character.
(2) Same question as the poster above, are you entertaining archetypes?
(3) Being unfamiliar with the Greyhawk setting, what are you looking for in terms of character back story and personality? Are functional comic-relief sorts of characters acceptable or do you prefer a more serious story/party? Stuff like that.
That's all I can think of for the moment :)

I would like to throw my hat in the ring if there's still some time for consideration. I am on Facebook all day on tablets, phones and laptops, I am really into the idea of playing one of these classic adventures and I am pretty familiar with Pathfinder since it's the system that kind of introduced me to RPing.
I'm wanting to make a pretty simple crossbow weilding ranger, more than likely a half elf or elf. I'm banging out the kinks in my idea and I can have someone posted up here later tonight or tomorrow (I have a name and back story already).

1) Monk is a core class, so would be allowed. Not recruiting on a first-come first serve basis, am trying to recruit more players who are serious about sticking with the adventure.
2) Archetypes - possibly, would need more info.3) The adventure was written in the Greyhawk campaign setting, but for this adventure that serves merely to use the names of places and characters as it is written. You do not need to be familiar with the campaign setting, as maps and other materials are made available on the Facebook group. You may design a generic background and personality to your liking.

I would like to present this halfling rogue for your consideration. I plan to specialise him in range combat with a repetition crossbow. If you were looking more for a melee built I can easily adjust him.
I have been wanting to play the Temple of Elemental Evil for a while. Thus, this is a nice opportunity for me :-) I am familiar with the module and starting at Nulb will be easy for me to catch up.

I have a half-orc barbarian I can refit for this. I'm not going to bother with any archetypes.
How are you determining hit-points for levels after first?
| Granite Tonne |
Ok finished. I will update the spell list once I get a feel from the rest of the group.
Background:
I don't know much about Greyhawk, so I'll have to be general. He was born to stonemason parents in an underground enclave. Granite is very kind hearted, if a bit gruff. He has two siblings. A sister, who he thinks the world of, and a brother, who he has always been at odds with. Being the middle child, He has always tried to be the center of attention, good or bad.
He brought shame to the house, when he had an illicit affair with his brother's wife. It was this event that forced him from his home. He did what he did in the name of love, but his brothers wife was just trying to punish his brother for inattention.
Losing his families respect and bringing shame to his house in the name of a love that was illusion, makes Granite feel like the biggest fool in the world. He sets forth to find purpose to his life. The more dangerous the better. He believes he may find some solace in fighting unrepentant evil.
He finds himself in Nulb, based on rumors that a temple of pure evil lies nearby.

House rule on hit points: Roll as normal. If you roll a 1 or a 2, reroll and take whichever is higher.

Good start! You should add one more Feat to Bladecatcher's profile, which would be acquired at 3rd level. Complete the character then send me via private message your Facebook user link and name, so we can connect.
