At the 1st of January, submissions go to the players and we'll make a decision together. The father Tera Tahikima and his pregnant bride left their home in the steppes of the far east when it was invaded by unknown monsters 25 years ago I’m picturing Mongolia.
They found themselves as refugees in the Olan Vales, and felt some connection to their traditional homeland. They raised their son Tera, and his younger sister Ulmay, in a mixture of their traditional culture and that of their new home.
Tera enjoyed the outdoors most of all, and would spends many hours tracking the native animals. He leaned to use the Kukri from his father, and more than once had to use it to defend himself when his rabbit trail unexpectedly lead to a boar. For his 16 birthday, his father sent him into the wild for complete moon-cycle, from dark-moon to dark-moon. He was given three days rations, a light crossbow, and the family Kukri (that has been passed from father to son for seven generations) to replace the one he trained with (eventually, he learned to use both at once). He came back a man, though his eyes now seemed dark and deep-set.
And now he is secretly terrified that the events that his parents would never speak of are happening to him. He knows that his parents fled a terror which they would never name, and he is now a refugee with is sister, fleeing a terror that people can not yet name.

The players are in a huge underground market right now, which is ideal for introducing new characters. I highly recommend providing a reason for your character to be there. Put it in the discussion thread, from there we'll find a way to have them blend in with the party.
