New version of the Warden. I nerfed a few overpowered abilities.
THE WARDEN v1.1

Christopher Delvo |

It's an in-person campaign. The only way, I think, to properly do the puzzles would be in-person. And so far as I know, all the campaign stuff is being done by Kenny. He hasn't asked for any help so far, so I'm assuming he's got it under control.
Though...dude. I'm all for helping out with anything you need. Archetypes, monsters, whatever.
Give me the point-buy (I assume it's point buy) and I'll throw my character together and post her on this thread.

Drathir |

20 point buy. And yeah so far I've got things covered... if either of you want to make a "team" for the opener go ahead...
1 person lvl 5
2 people lvl 3
3 people lvl 2
4+ people lvl 1 (max of 7 people)
give me: composition (i.e. 2 fighters and a Wizard)
Names, race, Stats, and a quick run down on personality.
These teams will, as Chris knows, be competition in the "Hero's Trial" annual race. Oh and most people worship the Sages from Ocarina while Everyone pays tribute to the goddesses.
If you choose Goron or Zora I'm not done with them so just say so and I'll adjust properly... all I know for sure is I'm giving Zora Trident Prof and Goron Imp. Una. Att.
Oh and Cody, Hylians (as in Link Zelda etc) are Half-elves while Kokiri are close enough to Gnome I'm not listing the differences, Gerudo are Human (as are many non-hylian Hylians... it's both a nationality and a race)

Codaes Leon Nel |

Awsome. I'm up to starting up with Chris if his story can fit so. I think I'll use my already made Pali and make a few minor adjustments. It's the Codaes Nel alias. I'll probably be a knight of Hyrule.
I only made up to lvl 1 because I didn't know how big of a team I will be on. Again, I have everything up on the Codaes Nel alias, story, stats, items, an feats and abilities.

Drathir |

Chris, sure go ahead... they are the base I'm working off of. As for house rules its our standard Finesse=auto and same with wis/dex... pretty much decided monk shouldn't be only one with access to Zen Archery style shooting.
Cody I'm afraid you misunderstood. It is an In person campaign but I need to design at least 3 more "teams" that may or may not be encountered but will be doing the race. If you want to help thats actually where I'd like the most help, I've got 2 teams Plus the party but i'd like 3 more NPC teams. You could still use Codaes but he'd have other NPC team members and I'd be doing numbers to see who wins the grand prize... and first second and third place as well. My e-mail is in my profile if you'd like to send me a team though.

HISTORY
Talia’s father, Kayl, was known across the land, from the great desert cities of the Gerudo to the under-water civilizations of the Zora, and deep into the Goron mountains as a great warrior and general. He defended the land against the Moblin Invasion, and earned himself a place in the nobility, wherein Talia was born. She was raised amongst princesses and knights, and loved the songs and stories told about the heroes of old (especially those of the Hero of Time). At age 8, however, her father fell into a scandal. He was accused of being in-league with a group of usurpers known as the Six-Fingered Gauntlet who sought to overthrow the kingdom of Hyrule and bring war to its lands. After her father’s execution, Talia stole his legendary sword: the Blade of Hyrule, given to him by the queen herself, and fled the city.
For ten years, she has evaded capture, going by the mercenary handle: The Blade. She has told very few her actual identity, and has disguised her sword by plating the hilt with a carbon metal alloy. However, she is well-known as both a warrior and mage. She has joined the Hero’s Trial for two reasons. Both to prove to herself that she can achieve the things she hears in songs so long ago, and to reveal herself and use her victory as a method to clear her family name.
TEN-MINUTE BACKGROUND
5 things in her background
Goals and things I’d like to see happen to Talia
Two Secrets
Three Relationships
Extra Details
Talia is tall for a girl at 5’ 8”. She is thin and athletic through her own training and mercenary work. Her hair is blonde and her eyes are a bright, foresty green. Many would call her beautiful but for a scar on her cheek received in her escape and further scarring across her body from battle.
She is known as a vicious warrior and, amongst the zora with whom she studies magic, a bit of a know-it-all. Her solitary nature has left her without people-skills, and those who have worked with her often say that she is quite rude and, sometimes, generally cruel to those around her. She snaps when angry and frustrated, and isn’t afraid to draw steel when offended. She has a habit of insulting those around her without realizing it.
Behind such a gruff exterior, however, she has the heart of a hero. She always fights for what she considers right, and collects stories of heroes and magnificent deeds throughout her travels.
Lore Established
You may want to change some things, and that's fine with me. But if you don't, here's a list of the lore established

Prof. Skyraper |

Ah, I believe I found it. Hello, Cody's friend Adam here.
The Chrono Trigger elements are going to subtext and inspiration i.e. no direct references. I really do not want to give away any plot details regarding "saving" the world so it would be best for me to remain quiet about what may pertain to some plot elements found in Chrono Trigger.
I hope you don't mind some copy/paste from a bit I have already written:
Once there was a time where the world was very much more mundane than it is today. Humans lived in cities and squabbled aimlessly for their short sighted goals, much like ants do. During this time we humans tried to impose our will on the planet, creating rivers, tunneling through mountains, trying our very best to change Mammon to fit our needs... Pathetically, like birds building nests. One day, long ago, we were awoken. We were chosen, you may say, by something bigger than us. When The Pearl landed upon Mount Shaddai our existence was changed for ever. When we first learned that The Pearl had given us the great gift of Magic we had first thought that it was a gift; a reward for our struggles, bestowed upon us by The Old God: Schll. Though one thing kept that from being true... The Asleep. They were ungifted, untouched by The Pearl's incredible and benevolent power. Schll had been our god for as far back as history goes, her messages, though never quite as direct as The Pearl, have not been very cryptic. When The Asleep had amassed an army, jealous of our gift and attacked deep into The Pearl it's self it was clear that Schll had given us this gift to defend what she bestowed upon Mammon. We could not have been so blind...
The Asleep; we had tolerated them, and they killed him. Augur Surgus the high priest and oracle of The Pearl had insructed us not to use our gift to impose our will on The Asleep but when the ungifted took his life... We reacted. Swords and Guns do not compare to bending bones with a mere thought. In our retaliation we had almost obliterated every one of The Asleep until our true God had contacted us. Kloysster, through Augur's body had told us to stop our attack. Kloysster also explained that he had sent The Pearl to Mammon in order to observe our reaction to the gift Magic and that we had committed a great sin by destroying The Asleep. With their defeat our old patron Schll had withered. With out our knowledge we were killing The Old God. Kloysster made it clear... He would revive Schll but in return we make Mammon an acceptable domain for him... And his new bride.
With Kloysster and Schll on their way to Mammon it is the duty of all Awaken to use their powers to make our realm fitting of two gods, it is also the duty of every remaining Asleep to aid us in any way. We have been chosen to be The Host of these awe inspiring deities. It is our purpose.
tl;dr: No Magic world gets blessed with Magic, those who can't use Magic revolt and get genocide'd, giver of Magic gets pissed off and is now coming to judge whether or not it should have given Magic, the world is busy getting ready to appease the giver.

Some very rough descriptions of the world:
The world seems alien and almost twisted compared to Earth. The sky is almost always a deep, dark purple, hazes of light giving particles occasionally amass as gigantic luminescent clouds. The seas have been mostly dried in the terraforming magics and the sands left behind have created enormous wastes. The flora of the planet has changed slightly, the humans being much to dependent on it's current state to change it too much. Massive plants create much of the townships and buildings of The Awaken, which tower over the ground. They can almost be seen actively growing new buildings and streets. From a distance the largest cities look like a strange hybrid between a 17th century cityscape and an amassing of thorn bushes. The Asleep live on the ground of Mammon, unable to control the wondrous Seeds of Schll. They still live in small hobbles and wrecked archaic towns. Much of the fauna has been altered to Kloysster's liking. There are many strange and wonderful beasts that roam Mammon now.
The Awaken: roughly 90% of the population of Mammon. All in some way magic users. Awaken have changed Mammon in strange ways. They are lead in their endeavors by a theocracy. Almost every one of The Awaken can see vision's of Kloysster's will and are linked together in a "dual mind". There is still a human civilization, such as shop keeps, economy and food but for the most part The Awaken live to serve either Kloysster or Schll. (Cody made a very good analogy, imagine the Clones from starwars only you don't HAVE to obey though you are still suggested to by the link and by society)
The Asleep: the remaining minority of the population. None can use any form of magic. Asleep live beneath the Awaken, their existence hardly tolerated. They live in a communistic existence, no economy, no power, just trying to survive. They are tolerated on Mammon, almost protected by both the Gods but in a truer sense they have been abandoned.

Prof. Skyraper |

To be blunt it is only human, if you do not have access to magic you cannot gain access, I'm highly encouraging multiclassing, society is strange and different, gear advancement will be fast, I'm looking for very average stats and well rounded characters for easier balancing and I'm making some balancing modifications with some classes without access to magic to be better suited in a high magic world.

Prof. Skyraper |

Kenny would need to know more before a verdict could be given. Is it just Time travel? are we trying to save the world... something more than Chrono Trigger... there's actually a lot that goes on in Chrono Trigger.
Time travel will play a major role, it will follow the "time is split" time travel concept. (Kill your grandfather, oh well because you're in an alternate timeline now.")

Cool. His campaign is 2d6+2. Min stat roll 8 max stat roll 14 then lpus 1 to any two stats. His campaign will reward more magic item and champion points to assign to stats to compensate. I'm not entirely sure when his will start.
Mine is 4d6, reroll low, and normal race stat bonuses. When they are finished with their current quest/portion. I'll throw you in ASAP. I have my campaign info on my GM board.

Christopher Delvo |

I don't think I'll join in this one. At the moment, I'm trying to organize my RPG stuff in my life (running 3 campaigns, daily design, keeping my classes/archetypes up-to-date, playing in another campaign). Once I get in a groove and get everything handled, I might get into another campaign. But as it stands, I don't think so.
On another note...are we continuing this campaign? I know I haven't been on-the-ball in posting. Part of that, I have to admit, is due to a lack of inspiration on my part. But I'd like to get everyone else's feedback. I don't have enough to start the Espers campaign yet, but everyone else seems to have other stuff on their plate as well (Cody running one game and playing in another, Kenny working on the Zelda campaign, etc.)
So...what do you all think?

More information on the sociological roles of the different classes. Awaken society is split into two "factions". The Flock, made up of arcane casters are the majority of the Awaken's society and can be seen as the bulk of their culture and efforts. The Clergy is only just smaller than The Flock and are made of divine casters. The Clergy focuses on the will of the gods and understanding the gift of Magic over the practice. All of society is based on a strict caste system, based on your efforts for the gods or their favor of you.
The Flock:
Wizards: students of Magic, closer to theologians than priests. They study and practice their gift at various universities and guilds. A standard wizard is fairly high ranking in society and actively puts in hours like a job terraforming the planet. Sorcerer: the most common person on Mammon. While they do act as terraformers they also often have more mundane jobs to keep society running. Think Harry Potter wizard society, they range in class but make up the lower caste almost entirely. Bard: bards are not much more than sorcerers that have specialized in spreading the will of the gods through entertainment, stories and songs. Magus: the Magus are elite enforcers of The Flock. They come from only the upper caste and are used to hunt down rogue Awaken and belligerent Asleep, using the dual mind as precognition. Witch: witches are hardly part of The Flock, they are almost lost in the embrace of Kloysster and Schll. They often find pleasure in the terraforming magic and use it for the will of the gods, not The Flock. Alchemist: Alchemists are more likely interested in the properties of the gift magic as opposed to the art. They are usually in the middle caste, providing services and farthing the will of the gods. Summoner: Summoners are often a very high caste and rare person. They are charged with the uncommon magic of morphing living things to the god's will.
The Clergy:
Cleric: clerics are common practicing Awaken that have devoted their lives to the gods. They are often looked to for understanding the dual minds visions and to help with the terraforming. They make up the majority of The Clergy. Druid: druids are free practitioners of the gift of Magic, primarily interested in the terraforming magics. They usually hold no caste but are not considered outcast... At least not by The Clergy. Oracle: oracles are gifted members of The Clergy. They are very high caste due to their gift and are often sought after because of their abnormal understandings of the dual mind. Paladin: Paladins are incredible followers of the gods. They are often lower caste that attempt to raise to high caste through service and are often viewed as paragons of the gods, despite their beginnings. Inquisitor: Inquisitors are members of The Clergy from a lost tradition. They were initially used to hunt The Asleep and It's rumored that is still their purpose. Ranger: rangers are often a low caste in The Clergy, hardly even practicing. They often use their gift only to make a living but usually prefer their martial prowess. Monk: Monks are an odd group in The Clergy. They are rumored to be now gifted Asleep but that claim is a volatile one, often debated with spells over words. They hold a middle to low caste.
