Copper Dragon (2) HP30 AC14 F6/R4/W4 Perc+8 Init+1 Fly+6

Jester increases the speed as the destination comes in sight.

Female Dhampir Fort +4, Ref +4, Will +2

Lamb hums a tune as they walk

As they walk the sand gives way to more firm terrain. the lagoon lies to their right hand side as the ocean moves away on their left.

The vegetation becomes more dense as they move inland. The large trees begin to offer some shade, however the mugginess only increases and the tree's do nothing for the temperature.

Male Phantom Fort +1, Ref +1, Will +0

Wolf is especially alert - there might be more interesting things to chase here.

Copper Dragon (2) HP30 AC14 F6/R4/W4 Perc+8 Init+1 Fly+6

Jester is much slower here as the vegetation gets more. He starts struggling to get his box through.

Female Dhampir Fort +4, Ref +4, Will +2

Lamb notices this, and offers some advice: "Perhaps we should find a spot to stash it, and then come back once we have found a place to settle down?"

Copper Dragon (2) HP30 AC14 F6/R4/W4 Perc+8 Init+1 Fly+6

"Leave my box behind?" Jester asks his voice shaking.

Female Dhampir Fort +4, Ref +4, Will +2

Lamb looks at Jester with a puzzled look. "This is difficult for you?"

Copper Dragon (2) HP30 AC14 F6/R4/W4 Perc+8 Init+1 Fly+6

Jester sits down. "Yes. I've known this box all my life. I've never been without it." Jester looks Lamb in the eyes to see if she understands.

Female Dhampir Fort +4, Ref +4, Will +2

Lamb still looks puzzled, not quite understanding.

Male Phantom Fort +1, Ref +1, Will +0

"Maybe it is like us, Lamb.", Wolf offers. "Never one..."

Female Dhampir Fort +4, Ref +4, Will +2

"...Without the other." Lamb finishes. "Is it like that, little Dragon?"

Copper Dragon (2) HP30 AC14 F6/R4/W4 Perc+8 Init+1 Fly+6

"Yes, like you..." Jester agrees. "Where ever Jester goes, box will follow."

"Not on it's own sadly."

Female Dhampir Fort +4, Ref +4, Will +2

"I can't carry both the fish and your box." Lamb looks around, seeing if there is any shelter nearby. Or anything to create a shelter with.

Copper Dragon (2) HP30 AC14 F6/R4/W4 Perc+8 Init+1 Fly+6

"Can you fasten it on my back? It's not heavy. I just can't carry it with my front paws like you do." Jester asks.

Female Dhampir Fort +4, Ref +4, Will +2

"We can try that of course." Lamb unties the rope Jester had attached to the box, and figures out how to best attach this to Jester's back. Roping it around Jester's shoulders, she tries to knot it tight enough not to swing too much, but not too tight for Jester to move or breathe normally.
dexterity: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12for rope use, I think?
"How's that?"

Male Phantom Fort +1, Ref +1, Will +0

Wolf keeps his eyes on the surroundings, checking for anything moving.

Copper Dragon (2) HP30 AC14 F6/R4/W4 Perc+8 Init+1 Fly+6

Jester almost disappears under the box. "It's not good."

"But it is better than to leave it behind." As the box holds down his neck it is really not good but it works at least. Jester makes a few steps. "We can move on."

Female Dhampir Fort +4, Ref +4, Will +2

Lamb looks on ahead, and starts moving again. She looks back at Jester often to make sure he's doing ok.

Copper Dragon (2) HP30 AC14 F6/R4/W4 Perc+8 Init+1 Fly+6

Jester trots along, happy to still have his box. As Lamb is larger than him plus the box most of the times he simply walks behind her. Only sometimes when some branches reach into the way where Lamb just leans her head out of the way or turns her shoulders Jester runs into it with the box. Which leads to funny scenes. He then backtracks a few steps to take a look at where the problem is and approaching the bottleneck from a slightly different angle. Sometimes he has to repeat that to get through.

Survival checks to not get lost

Copper Dragon (2) HP30 AC14 F6/R4/W4 Perc+8 Init+1 Fly+6

I don't do survival checks. I just follow Lamb.

Female Dhampir Fort +4, Ref +4, Will +2

Survival: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (8) - 1 = 7
Lamb gets disoriented by the dense woods

Male Phantom Fort +1, Ref +1, Will +0

Survival: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
But wolf is right on track. This is his natural hunting ground. "This way, little Lamb"

As the party moves further inland they cross a a boundary of sorts.
Before they were surrounded by shrubs and dense greenery.
Trees tower overhead now, blocking all but the most persistent rays of light. Surprisingly it is easier to traverse between these giants as only a few ferns and smaller plants can survive in the gloom.
The humidity they began to experience over the last few hours is magnified under the trees and soon clothing clings to bodies and fur is damp with the condensation and sweat.
As they cross beyond the boundary the sounds change. Leaves rustle more than before, there are calls of animals from above, birds sing to each other and bugs fill every quiet moment with a cacophony.

Male Phantom Fort +1, Ref +1, Will +0

All the sounds of animals makes Wolf excited despite the humidity. "Tell me again, Little Lamb," he asks, "Which things are mine to take?"

Female Dhampir Fort +4, Ref +4, Will +2

Lamb pants with the humidity, but answers Wolf nonetheless: "All things, dear Wolf". She looks around. "Maybe we should move closer to the mountains, hope to find a cave of sorts?"

From what you can tell your path is still true to the valley, but you cannot see how far away you are now

Copper Dragon (2) HP30 AC14 F6/R4/W4 Perc+8 Init+1 Fly+6

"I want some river, creak, or spring. Something with water please. I'm really thirsty from all that salty fish" Jester tells his thoughts.

Thinking about what Wolf said he asks "Which things are mine to take?" Wondering if something is left for him if Wolf gets all things.

Male Phantom Fort +1, Ref +1, Will +0

Before Lamb can answer, Wolf quickly says "The salty fish. And the water."

Copper Dragon (2) HP30 AC14 F6/R4/W4 Perc+8 Init+1 Fly+6

Jester thinks about that. "But you won't get my box. This is mine too." he states in a confident manner.

But then he adds "But if you want you can try it. But only short."

"And if you like it we can search another box for you."

Female Dhampir Fort +4, Ref +4, Will +2

Lamb smiles. "Wolf meant just living things, little Jester. All living things are ours to take, in the end. But that doesn't mean you cannot take your share." She rearranges the box of fish in her arms. "And I don't think he would like your box very much. He likes to reign free."

Male Phantom Fort +1, Ref +1, Will +0

Wolf looks around for small rodents or mammals to hunt

Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17

"I'm hungry."

Copper Dragon (2) HP30 AC14 F6/R4/W4 Perc+8 Init+1 Fly+6

"Even when it's raining?" Jester asks Wolf. "Or when it's cold? Or the sun shines too hot on your head?"

Male Phantom Fort +1, Ref +1, Will +0

"I don't know. I'm hungry now."

Copper Dragon (2) HP30 AC14 F6/R4/W4 Perc+8 Init+1 Fly+6

"Maybe if we hide behind a tree something to eat will come along and we can hunt it." Jester suggests.

Wolf can see some birds in the trees, and some teacup sized beetles in the fallen leaves, but nothing besides that

Male Phantom Fort +1, Ref +1, Will +0

Wolf walks up to one of those beetles. "It doesn't run very fast, no fun in the chase." he tries to take one in his mouth, to see if his jaw can crack the shell

bite Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

Copper Dragon (2) HP30 AC14 F6/R4/W4 Perc+8 Init+1 Fly+6

Jester hops to where wolf gnaws on the beetle. "You know these beetles?" He rakes some leaves away to find his own beetle.
Survival: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
(What colour are they? Are they edible?)

The beetle has a dark green carapace. As Wolf bites into it crunches and squirts a thick inky-black fluid into his mouth.
Acid: 1d3 ⇒ 1
The fluid burns wolfs mouth badly and over the next moments his mouth starts to blister and welt.
For the next 10 minutes Wolf cannot speak properly, and is treated, he is treated as using bluff to convey a secret message and anyone attempting to understand him must make a dc 15 sense motive or linguistics check. He also cannot use his bite

Male Phantom Fort +1, Ref +1, Will +0

Wolf lets out a high-pitched whine and spits out the rest of the beetle. He growls a bit as a warning towards Jester, but doesn't actually say anything.

Copper Dragon (2) HP30 AC14 F6/R4/W4 Perc+8 Init+1 Fly+6

"Ouch" Jester says and contorts his face as he suffers vicariously with Wolf. "I guess this beetle doesn't want to be eaten."

Looking at Lamb he asks "Can you help him?"

Female Dhampir Fort +4, Ref +4, Will +2

"I can, but Wolf has his pride. He will come to me when he really needs my help." She looks at the remains of the beetle. "You are right though, it doesn't want to be eaten. Yet still it has met its end. It has met us."

Copper Dragon (2) HP30 AC14 F6/R4/W4 Perc+8 Init+1 Fly+6

Jester becomes suspicious. "You make it sound as if meeting you is the same as meeting one's end."

Female Dhampir Fort +4, Ref +4, Will +2

"All things must meet their end sometime, do they not?"

Copper Dragon (2) HP30 AC14 F6/R4/W4 Perc+8 Init+1 Fly+6

"I don't know. If you can avoid being eaten, maybe not." Jester reflects.

Female Dhampir Fort +4, Ref +4, Will +2

Lamb simply laughs, and leaves it at that.

Copper Dragon (2) HP30 AC14 F6/R4/W4 Perc+8 Init+1 Fly+6

Jester is pleased with that idea. He will be careful not to be eaten and with Wolf around no one would dare to try to come near anyway.

"Have you seen a spring, or heard water?" he asks Lamb and strains his ears if he hears some himself.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15

Female Dhampir Fort +4, Ref +4, Will +2

Lamb listens as well
Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
