Brother Thedius |

I disagree. The answer will be find what's in there and remove it. This location is being abandoned and we will not be thanked for leaving something precious behind. Furthermore it would not look well if we were attacked while sitting around waiting for permission. We should take the initiative

Brother Gaius |

When the Sarcophagus is loaded. Gaius gathers his team then speaks to all at once."Brothers Hallan & Thedius will watch over the Thunderhawk. Brother Eremiel will setup inside the entrance to the shrine to cover everyone. The rest will come with me to see if we can travel deeper and maybe recover whatever is in the Undershrine. Brother Hallan please inform the Watch Captain of our goal. Cherub on me!"

Col Folken |

The Cherubim follows Brother Gaius into the shrine and awaits orders.
You hear the sound Imperial Guard Valkyries. A squad of three. One hovers down and drops a platform and attachments to load the Sarcophagus. Sending servitors to assist you Master Astartes, I am sorry, but even with our environmental gear it would be suicide to leave the Valkyrie. Two servitors repel down the cables and assist in loading the Sarcophagus.

Brother Thedius |

"By my interpretation of the markings this is an armory of the Iron Hands, and this shrine doubles as a bunker. Among the runes is seal of the Iron Council, the ruling council of the Iron Hands. What lies within is probably a chapter relic"
Thedius is frustrated by the fact that his knowledge has not earned him a place among those that investigate further, but he holds his silence. Well he knows that The techmarine, the apothecary and the Librarian are best to deal with matters of lore and understanding.

Brother Gaius |

Hearing Thedius's comment Gaius stops."That would most likely be a great boon to the deathwatch. Even if we don't keep the relic we might could get more recruits. Hmm come along as well your knowledge might prove useful. Though I would like you to hold back as you can move to aid Brothers Hallan and Eremiel should they come under attack."

Brother Tellemachus |

Tellemachus hears Gaius's order, he senses Thedius's frustration.
"Brother, I will be quite jealous of the potential mutant blood spilt by you"With that he strides off to fall in with Brother Gaius and the rest of the marines descending into the former Iron hands fortification. He checks the safety and clip of his bolt pistol, and tests the grip on his sword before entering deeper.
"If I may Brother Gaius, I will elect to breach into the bunker first."

Brother Gaius |

"No rush Thedius. If you prefer stay and maybe fight alongside Hallan. After all battle brings more glory than investigating."

Brother Lutha Hallan |
Awareness (70): 1d100 ⇒ 7
"Stay your hand for a moment Thedius, it may not realize that it has been discovered yet." mutters Lutha, keeping the mutant in his periphrial vision but never looking directly at it for fear of startling it. "As long as it believes it remains hidden the creature will go to great lengths to remain so and that will buy our brothers, as well as the Guardsmen, some much needed time. Killing it now would surely alert the rest of it's fellows and an attack would likely follow."
Lutha hunkers down behind his cover
Overwatch, Semi-Auto, for if a horde appears
"For now you may wish to check the other side of the peak where the Iron Hands were fighting earlier. They mentioned that the mutants had tried to launch surprise attacks from there previously, and given our guests penchant for subtlety I wouldn't put it past them doing it again now."

Brother Thedius |

Thedius responds to the pilot before he does Hallan.
"Inform them that we have a hostile scouting our position, and if they have the means to take it out silently, to do so"
He then turns to the Lamenter
"Respectfully brother, you are wrong. The scout must be eliminated before it has a chance to report our position and situation. Emperor only knows what foul warp tainted way of communicating it has. I will check the other side, and if our scouts cannot deal with the problem then I will eliminate the threat myself, with my knife"
Thedius turns to check the rest of the plateau
"I'm on my coms" he says as he triggers his jump-pack

Brother Apothecary Eremiel |

When the Sarcophagus is loaded. Gaius gathers his team then speaks to all at once."Brothers Hallan & Thedius will watch over the Thunderhawk. Brother Eremiel will setup inside the entrance to the shrine to cover everyone. The rest will come with me to see if we can travel deeper and maybe recover whatever is in the Undershrine. Brother Hallan please inform the Watch Captain of our goal. Cherub on me!"
At this Brother Eremiel nods to Gaius and raps his fist against his chestplate.
For the Lion!
I'll take up a position just inside the doorway, taking a knee and scanning down the pathway and cliff edge. Also, GEEZ! I take one night for tabletop Pathfinder fun and come back to 30-odd posts! It's awesome but I feel bad :D

Brother Lutha Hallan |
"At your insistence then."
Half Aim and then Single Shot at the mutant

"Though I'd wager that from our skirmish earlier they are already well aware of our position."

Brother Thedius |

You only get 1 extra d10 damage for righteous
Awarenes/Per to spot anyone on the other side of the plateau. Target 70: 1d100 ⇒ 74 FP that
re-roll Target 70: 1d100 ⇒ 81 When the God Emperor has it in for you, there's nothing you can do about it
Fustrated that the tactical specialist did not make full use of the scouts at his disposal, Thedius fails to properly search for the enemy.
@Hallan - No offense, I'm just giving Thedius an excuse for double failing!

Brother Lutha Hallan |
Since paizo doesn't have a "drop the lowest" option I've just been rolling the extra d10 and calculating the total manually. I did make a mistake on the Righteous Fury, I didn't notice they had changed it so much in the errata, damage from that attack will be 8. My damage calculation from the first attack (25)remains correct.
Revised Total Damage: 33 X
Remember Lutha is not the commander of this mission and his Lone Survivor deed makes him hesitant to be giving out orders. Once he has his orders he does everything in his capacity to carry them out but responsibilities beyond that, like taking control of another squad on an ongoing mission, is something he won't do unless absolutely, unavoidably necessary.

Brother Tellemachus |

In the depths of the bunker, Tellemachus hears a pop of gunfire in the distance."I'm sure they've got everything under control".Tellemachus scans the area inside the bunker for anything that resembles the Iron Hands heraldry.
Search:Percep 40+4=44: 1d100 ⇒ 20
Tellemachus seems to notice something2 degrees of success

Brother Valerio León |

I'm only assuming the howls are loud enough for me to hear
Valerio hears the howls, and shows a moments hesitation before plunging into the Undershrine. He half turns his before steeling himself. He trusts his brothers Hallan and Thedius, and believes them plenty capable of handling the mutant scourge. None-the-less he states, "Brothers, we should make great haste in this endeavor. I fear we may have overstayed our welcome."
With that he raises his Bolter, making sure it's still set to Semi-Auto, and has a full clip, as he descends into the depths, checking his Array.
Tech-Use(50): 1d100 ⇒ 13
3 degrees of success yes?

Since you are all set to breach I will make a spoiler if that is what you want to do. If you decide to not open the door than I guess don't look

Brother Gaius |

Individual Rounds or Clips?
Once inside the bunker and seeing the items he looks to the Librarian."I think we will need a bigger transport..."He then looks to the servitor."I am Brother Gaius under orders to retrieve all the relics in this shrine to be relocated and to aid in our crusade against the Xenos threat in this sector. My team and I will need your aid in transporting these relics to our transport."

Brother Thedius |

"I see nothing on this side" Thedius replies returning to a position that would give him good cover from the direction of the screaming and reading his bolt pistol
Overwatch full-auto in the direction of the screaming for when an enemy comes into standard range (not long or extreme)

Brother Gaius |

Bolt Pistols have Full Auto!? I really am blind...

Brother Apothecary Eremiel |

<Brother Gaius, I am advancing from the shrine door to the front entrance. My position here serves little purpose but to split up our forces>
Brother Eremiel advances from the shrine door to the crypt entrance and watches for incoming mutants/xenos
Per 68: 1d100 ⇒ 42
Brother Tedius, Brother Lutha, what is your condition?

Brother Tellemachus |

After studying the area around him, and recalling what he knew about the Sons of Medusa. Tellemachus relays the information to Brother Gaius.
"The Sons of Medusa are a fleet-based chapter. After the Moirare Schism and their exile. They vowed to never take up arms against the Imperium. Some of their leanings toward this...Omnissiah have been considered heretical by some. Curious how we find their weapons on a desolate world, and they've no planet".

Watch Captain Enoch |

The Sarcophagus gets safely loaded and the squad of Valkyries take off.
+ Relic secured, see you back on deck. Col. Folken, out.+
A few moments later
++++ Awaiting assessment of mutant threat by the second team. Return to Pious Immolation for AAR, but be prepared to be sent out again.+++
*Edit* Team 2 is in route to your location for extraction. Prepare to leave as soon as they arrive

Brother Lutha Hallan |
As the group gathers at the Thunderhawk Lutha reaches into one if his ammo pouches and draws out a single bolt shell. He then unscrews the top, revealing the inside to be hollowed out, and draws out a small candle from within. He says a quick prayer over it and then offers it out to the other marines explaining: "It is an old tradition of the Lamenters, when we come to a planet like this where so many sons and daughters of the Imperium have perished, to light a candle so that all those who have been taken by the darkness may once again find their way into the Emperors light. Feel free to take it and offer your own prayers, otherwise I will light it and leave it here at this once holy place."
He thinks for a moment and then gives a dry laugh.
"What a grand stroke of irony..."
Sorry DM, I'm not trying to drag this out any further. Just want to get some quick closure and offer up one last chance for RP to anyone else.

Watch Captain Enoch |

You return on the ship and are ordered to enter decontamination. As you are in decon, you see the servitors that aided in securing the sarcophagus in the decon area. They do not look well. You can see through the glass of the decon room that a large warhead is being loaded into a drop-pod. After only a few mins you are cleared from decon and can enter the ship, the servitors leave also, but into the drop-pod with the device. They served the imperium well, but no saving them. We are going to use them to initiate the exterminates device, no sense risking Astartes lives. Come, we have much to discuss.
The Watch Captain walks with you to his office. You can see the drop pod reach the planet. A few moments later the planet lights up like a sun. The internal vox turns on and a very evangelical priest begins a enthusiastic eulogy.
+* By his light the sinners are purged, praise be the God Emperor and his holy soldiers! Praise to the martyred souls that gave their lives in his service! Cleansed by fire, this world is now pure! Praise the God Emperor!*+
Praise the fallen and the God Emperor The Watch Captain says solemnly as he stops to look out a stained glass window depicting an Astartes decapitating a daemon. He quickens his pace and his cybernetic leg squeals loudly as it changes gears. Our work has just begun brothers. Follow me.
I will post the next mission late tonight, possibly after midnight MST, but will try sooner. Spend your xp before you report into the next mission.

Lord Inquisitor Gathrix |

A tall thin man in fine clothing meets you all in the hallway.
Excuse me Master Astartes, we have received a transmission. Hredrin is requesting aid. Please if you will follow me.
Report in for mission now. You may roll for the above items once you report in, or if you remain on the ship in the recruitment thread.

Lord Inquisitor Gathrix |

Well it is a weekend so might not get everyone just yet. I will post the beginning for now.
A few moments later a serf comes and let's each of you know your presence is requested on the command deck.
The command deck is a lot more empty than you had seen in the past. Col. Folken is there talking with Sister Vesta, Admiral Williams is speaking with a Navis you have not met, and Lord Inquisitor Gathrix is speaking with your Watch Captain. When you enter the siqn of the Aquila is offered quickly and the Inquisitor begins to speak.
"Welcome Master Astartes, allow me to formally introduce myself. I am Lord Inquisitor Gathrix. I am one of the few original members of the first Tyrantine Cabal, formed many years ago. I was just an acolyte then. Our original plan was to take the sarcophagus to Orendel's Tomb. It is a shrine world in this sub-sector. Between us and Orendel's Tomb is a planet known as Hredrin. Hredrin has sent us a communication regarding the need for assistance, well to be more accurate, they sent out a request for assistance and we happened to be close enough to pick it up quickly. In addition we need to transmit the fate of Grangold to the ruling council on Scintilla and the Calixian Conclave.
The Lord Inquisitor pauses and looks at the Navis still whispering to the Admiral, As I am sure you are aware, Astropaths are responsible for sending long distance communication through the warp. Some of this communication can take years depending on how distant. Hredrin is responsible for much of that communication in the Andrantis sub-sector, so it is imperative we support them. I have been chosen by the cabal to lead the investigative team once we land on Hredrin. Your Watch Captain was gracious enough to select you to be my body guards. After your demonstration on Grangold I am confident in your capable hands there will be no incidents. I will let your Watch Captain give you the particulars.

Watch Captain Enoch |

"Ok brothers, I want this detail tight. Stay with the Lord Inquisitor at all times. The Arbites and Col. Folken's men will be holding a cordon around the Temple Astropathica that should keep the scum at bay. The Sisters will remain on ship for this mission, the members of the Gaolist Astropaths and the Sisterhood have...history that might complicate things." The Watch Captain chooses his words carefully and gives a sideways glance to Sister Vesta who is wearing a sneer that could put the fear of the God Emperor into the hardest of hive-ganger.
Primary Objective Insure Lord Inquisitor Gathrix's safety
Requisition for the team is 60
This mission has the potential to yield a good amount of renown. It will be lighter on the xp though.
