Backstory:

Valerio León was born from a slave of the Eldar a few years shy of The Hellabore Assault in 867.M41 on the very planet that would host the bloody battle. After the fallout of the assault, many men were recruited from among the survivors, Valerio among them. There was nothing very astounding about his service amoung the 10th Company. Although it felt a lifetime of service, it was not very long before Valerio became an Initiate and served within the 4th Company of the Crimson Fists. Valerio showed a certain affinity for machines, and it was only a matter of time before he was sent to Mars in order to train.

Valerio returned back to the Crimson Fists in 934.M41, just in time to serve alongside his fellow brothers in The Toran VI Massacres where he and his brothers stood victorious against the Chaos Warband of Sathash the Golden. Valerio loved his brothers dearly, and through all of their victories he grew ever stronger bonds to them.

It wasn't until a year after The Battle of Rynn's World that Valerio joined Deathwatch. After witnessing the complete destruction of his home, and the deaths of many of his friends, the victory felt hollow and tasted bitter to him. They had saved their home world, but at a great cost. Valerio knew that his Chapter needed him in the rebuilding efforts, but as he was asked to join Deathwatch part of him felt it was his duty to accept such an honor, and another part knew that it was the chance he needed to make the filthy greenskins pay for making his victories taste of ash.
