Brother Elyas is going for a squad mode at the end of round 1. I believe you said you chose Oath of the Weapon. Fire for Effect, Tank Buster, and Fire Support are the options. Fire for Effect probably being the best choice in this situation. It will cost 2 cohesion, no roll needed, and a half action. I will add this to F.A.Qs still seems to be some issues understanding Squad Mode and I can understand it is a bit different than any other system.

I am not sure how some of you are calculating damage to a horde. Pg 359 has this for you. Basicly one hit that does any mount of damage no matter how small or how devastating does 1 mag damage. So for Brother Lutha, unless you have a talent or something which is very possible, you have done 4 mag damage to this horde. For Brother Leon, the blast of the frag grenade (8) is how much mag you reduce the horde.

On the top floor, in the observatorium. Please don't make me go in there. The scared sewer scum begs.
You are going no where. The Lord Inquisitor smiles as he fills the scum's head full of melta fire from his Hellax Infernus.
Team on me! The Lord Inquisitor commands as he strides towards the Astropathica Transmitorum.
Brother Lutha Hallan
I was counting righteous furies as additional hits for the purpose of damaging the horde, is that not the case? Even then, I fired using Hellfire ammunition which does +1 damage against horde magnitude per hit. On top of that the horde section of the corebook lists that weapons that deal X damage (which is the bolters damage type) deals an additional hit against the horde.
So at the very minimum I did 9 points of damage to the horde magnitude.
Lutha returns to formation and moves with the group.

Having cut down the remaining gangers Elyas quickly surveys the surroundings from his current position before returning to his fellow marines and their charge. Oh yes, I forgot bolters do X, and I did not see you were using hellfire rounds, maybe put that in ooc or something next time so it pops. I will have to double check the effects of righteous fury on a horde I can not find it in the book and that is new to me. In the past I have always just rolled hits and based mag damage on weapon quality and # of hits. In any event this doesn't change the results that much, the horde would have ran on your turn, and Brother Elyas would have been moping up even less which is more likely.

I'll have to have another look at the horde rules again. Just for my own learning really, I've not played much Deathwatch so they're a bit alien to me (hahaha).
Seeing the last of the crazed hive scum fall under Elyas' scything blade, Lucian turns back to see the Inquisitor executing the captured civilian.
I am not at all convinced that the Inquisitor needs any protection, and the purpose of our mission is disconcertingly unclear.
Brothers, we're moving on. Back in formation, on the Lord Inquisitor. Keep a watchful eye out for further psykers. Tellemachus, you are best suited to uncovering further witchery with your psychic senses.
As Lucian returns to the Inquisitor's side, he carefully inquires further about the mission.

It is worse than we had hoped, but we planed for this. Father, I will need you inside with me. Father Zyas nods.
You arrive at the Astropathica Transmitorum with no further incident. Once you get there you realize the PDF is set up around the Transmitorum to keep things from coming out , not from getting in.
Glad you are here Master Astartes, Lord. The, things. They have been making noises and we haven't seen any Astropaths in days. The PDF captain gives his report in a shaky voice.
Brother Tellemachus
"Brothers, beware I sense the witch strongly from the Transmitorum, I cannot zero in their location unfortunately."
Tellemachus speaks over the vox. He meets with Brother Vartas before entering the Transmitorum
"Brother, the astropaths bind daemons to these "hosts" which are in turn used for long distance communication. The Transmitorum is used as a "storage" for these vessals of the ruinous powers. It has been tolerated only out of necessity here, however it still screams heresy."
Brother Lucian Vartas
Tellemachus, your words greatly distress me. How can this heresy have been left to continue for so long? How can the offices of the Imperium have let the Emperor's subjects be used in so debased a fashion?
Lucian changes to the squad-wide channel.
Brothers, there is darkness within these walls, darkness the likes of which we cannot allow to continue. Steel your souls for what is to come next, for we must be the Emperor's light in this place of evil.
He then turns to the Inquisitor.
My lord, what is going on here? What are we protecting you from? Although our mission is to guard your august self from harm, we cannot let this daemon-binding go unchecked. Tell me that this whole misbegotten situation will be burnt to the ground this day.
Lord Inquisitor Gathrix
And this is why secrets are kept Astartes. Would you destroy these bound warp-abominations to leave entire fleets and worlds without long distance communication? Well, now that is a choice we no longer have to make. We have made a deal with House Aleene. Will we get their services in exchange for exclusive navigational rights in the region. Today we rid this world of filth, but rest assured you have only been given a glimpse through the key-hole of the true corruption. This is what we are up against. Are you ready for it? The Lord Inquisitor lets the reality set in for a moment and then adds....
Fret not, for all the evil that has been allowed to thrive here, a project was begun years ago when the Calixian Conclave forced the Sisters to leave this place operational. I can not speak of it here, but if it is what I think it is, it has the potential to save this sector.
The Lord Inquisitor looks at the Captain of the PDF. You and your men have seen and heard more than you should. After our mission is completed here, you will take your men and report to Col. Folken for re-indoctrination, is that clear? The Captain nods Yes..Yes Lord sir. He offers an awkward salute.
He looks at Brother Thedius and bows slightly and sweeps his hand inviting the Astartes to lead the team. After you, you have proven to be perceptive. Jyson will be behind you with the psycocollum visor. It picks up emanations of psyker activity.
Brother Lucian Vartas
I understand your statement my lord, but surely there must have been some other way? Why is it that this desecration has been necessary here of all places?
Lucian is bewildered by the Inquisitor's casual approach to this heresy, but respect for Gathrix's station and duties prevents him from expressing any further discontent.
Rest assured, lord, that my brothers and I are ready for whatever is to come, and that we will not fail in our sacred duties. Tellemachus, up front with Agent Rixx. Thedius, you will fall back to join Brother Hallan at the front of the main group.
Lord Inquisitor Gathrix
I understand, and now you can understand Sister Vesta's attitude on the ship. Sending such messages through the warp are a talent few possess, and those that do suffer from...changes. He glances at Zelra who still has her third eye exposed. Until now we really had no alternative, but now that we do, we will not let this opportunity slip by.
He takes note of the changes Brother Lucian makes and nods. Ready.
Brother Thedius
Thedius fires his bolt pistol into the fleeing Gangers until it is dry. He reloads as he returns to his squad. Witnessing the execution of the man he captured, but not hearing the words spoken, he could only assume that it was necessary.
Thedius steeled himself against the threat described by Tellemachus and Vartas as the squad approached the transmitorum. He listened to the inquisitor's explanation with patience
"Potential to save this sector forgive my ignorance Inquisitor, but does it not also have the potential to dam the sector? All of this will be reported to the captain, it is up to him to decide where the Deathwatch stands in this. For now we must cleanse this place"

I don't believe you are using Thedius to his optimum abilities, but I don't think it is on purpose. Honestly I was struggling to come up with a good reason to play up the rivalry. I'm just playing up a minor difference of opinion.
Angrily Thedius returns his chainsword to his belt and returns to stand beside Elyas. He says to the Dark Angel with frustration clear in his voice

As Lutha is moving towards the stairs something is rising up inside of him, a mixture of disgust and outrage. The bodies both inside Transmitorium and out were not those of heretics. No, they were just normal Imperial citizens who rose up against their twisted overlords. It is unfortunate that they be so damned merely by circumstance. Once at the stairs Lutha takes a knee and gives himself a position with wide view upwards:

Once at the staircase Lutha took the opportunity to get something of his chest, and he did so over squad-wide vox.
"Lord Inquisitor Gathrix, I feel now that it is my duty to apologize to you. From the onset of this mission I had thought you to be misguided in purpose, calling us here for some mere political squabble and distracting us from the more dire situations elsewhere. But now I see that your role here is as righteous as any. The Watch Captain was right to have trusted you, I am sorry I could not do the same. I also wish to thank you for bringing me here, for giving me the chance to free these people from their perverted overlords before any further damage could be done."
Lutha then goes silent again. The pride of a space marine is such that these words are not easily pried from their master.
