I think that looks about right. Cassondria may not have any interest in developing fighting skills, but that looks about right.

Spears are incredibly versatile. They're a very useful weapon to have.

Quick rules question as this does kind of matter for style and panache reasons. Regular spears are a two handed weapon. Can you hold it ready in one hand and use the net in the other and once you succeed or feel pressured enough drop said net and began the hard offensive with the spear?

Cassondria can handle a bow, though she'd make no argument for being a warrior.

I was thinking more of a situation where under siege what would happen, though I could see in a way Darne carrying his net with him as a fashion piece But not sure about having a spear on him at all times. .that would be awkward.

Any thoughts on what we should call father dearest?

You have a Maester PC, so you count as having that holding as well as the Master of the Hunt, since another PC took this role. I suggest some forest for that to happen

Knightly Houses/Landed Knights
House Daerros
Motto: Virtue is the safest helmet
Known for their crimson horses that and their jousting

House Veleris
Motto: Courage to the last
Their Master of Arms is a renown military that command the renowned infantry of House Veleris and their apiary

I think most players Added their +1d6 to a single resource.

Lord Domeric Naelaron - Current lord of his House
Lady Saera Naelaron - Daughter of House Paege - Deceased

Good :)

I will update Docs to include these information.

What about the "Happily remarried" & "Married Well"? Would be interesting to know about new Lady in the House plus what connection we have into bigger house

As far as I know, Matthias and our new player are the only ones who haven't added if I have crunched the numbers right.

Hazzah I have someone whom I can mentor under for jousting and spear maneuvers. I shall indeed look to him for some tutelage and sparring partner.

I'm not sure whose mother that would be. I could see the first marriage as a power move to get the family in good standing with the upper houses, but then I could also see the second being done the same way....it's a hard decision to make on that one, thoughts anyone on it?

Edit: I think both me and Cassondria chose that mother dearest died in childbirth. Don't get me wrong, it would be lovely to get a bit of backstory built on them but if needed I can change mine.

First one is marriage to a Knightly House, the Second and current.

House Deddings
Lord Oslyn Deddings
Seat: Meadowhall Castle
Coat of Arms: Rampant Argent horse on a vert field
"Through tamed power we conquer"

Ser Jonus Dedding (aged: 37, died in the second Blackwood vs. Bracken battle 120 AL) Married Ellyn Paege (aged: 25)
Ser Dyllan Rivers (age: 18) Mother: Lynda, a former lover to Jonus Deddin (aged: 20, Murdered by unknown assailant 123 AL)
Maid Danyelle Dedding (age: 16)

Ser Pendyn Dedding (age: 41) Married Ryanna Frey (age: 33)
Ser Davos Dedding (age: 18)
Vance Dedding (age: 11) - Squire to Lord Cerran Daerros

Lady Tenya Dedding (age: 27) Married Lord Arthyr of House Wayn
Maid Alina Wayn (age: 12)
Squire Rick Wayn (age: 11)

Lady Gwyneth Naelaron of House Dedding age 34 Married to Lord Domeric Naelaron age 42

Lord Deston Veleris - Lord
Lady Sofina Veleris - Lady
Lady Ayleth Veleris - Daughter 16 years old
Arving Veleris - 14 years old - Squire to Ser Korban Paege

Lord Cerran Daerros - Lord
Lady Eyla Daerros -Lady
Ser Broden Daerros - Heir - 18 years old
Desmor Daerros - 12 years old - Squire to Ser Davos Dedding

So, the current Lady of the House is Lady Gwyneth?

EDIT: Also, who is the current heir of House Dedding?

Ser Pendyn Dedding he is the eldest son

So, Houses Daerros and Valeris are our Landed Knights and we are connected to Houses Dedding and Paege through marriage, yes?

Also understood it like that..

Mother side deceased : Paege
Stepmother side alive Dedding

Landed Knights: Valeris & Daerros

Ok...clarification, are we going with Darne and Cassondria are half siblings or full (was going under the pretense of half)?

If so, I don't mind changing that Darne's mother is still alive, super easy change and would give a reason further for the minor animosity that Cassondria harbors.

I will update my back story to fit with the house information created. I am new to this system, however I am a quick study.

System is rather easy, its rolling d6 and keep dice to beat a Target Number (TN)

Would it have been Uncle Deddings that I would've spent most of my childhood at or a different lord?

Sorry for all the questions, just trying to synch down the whole of the family vackstory so that I can put it all in notes and keep it all together so that confusion doesn't happen later. ^^

Could be Uncle Deddings more than likely, and it could Have been Ser Jonus Dedding and marks your return to your House after his death in the conflict, or just simply Ser Pendyn Dedding.

I am debating between the three right now, I kinda feel See Jones Dedding would have been unlikely given his wedding a Paege. Politically I feel that would've been not chosen due to making sure to not give a slap to the face of the family having to raise their son in laws child of another woman....I would find it interesting to be raised by the Lord and lady Dedding

Lord Dedding is 60 so he is an old fart that packs a big punch, just don't expect him to do much off his horse, and you are to young to have been a squire or something other than a Ward in his House.

It would probably had been what brought about his fondness for horses. He may of helped take care of the horse as he would've been old and big enough to do that at least. Would also lend towards why he's more politically savvy then war trained.

As long as your background explain it reasonable well.

Sure sure, I will play with the background some more soon. Feeding my face and such at the moment.

Edit: Did a bit of updating to the backstory to include all the newer information that has come up and such and tailor the background better.

I have quite the interesting story for Marcus Stormborn nemesis and a hard one for him to deal with buahahahaha.

Discussion thread is up, to report for characters mostly or all done.

Coming late to the party here is my roll for Gold.

Gold 2d6 ⇒ (1, 2) = 3

Whoops, I need to roll for gold as well.

Gold: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 1) = 5

gold..yeah..might need that..lol

2d6 ⇒ (5, 4) = 9

I think I screwed up starting gold. According to my guide it states that it is a Status test. If I understand things correctly, that would mean I would roll 3d6 instead of 2.

gold: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9 The 5 was from my original roll of 2d6.

Dark Archive

Ok, I am back from Con.

Ophidia Sand

Table 3-6: Vices

Age: Young Adult (180 exp, max 5) -- I don't mind aging up, but I thought it would be easier to build with fewer points.

Someone for me to spar with..lol

Marcus would gladly spar with you :) Also it could offer some interesting way for me to power up him later IC wise.

Going to rank him up as a general / fighter or so I hope heh

Dark Archive

I am not understanding how starting gear works, do we roll for gold, or do we get the numbers from our family that was rolled up?

You roll gold based on your status. So since the household status is 4 (Only the Lord may have that) then most likely the highest you can have is 3. So you take your status dice and roll that to get your starting gold....I believe I did that correctly yes?

Yes

Your roll your status, not House

Dark Archive

Can I take more than one flaw? Is there any reason to or not to? Ward and Nemesis seem to fit my random background well. Anyhow, I swapped some final things around to fit better with the rolls made.

Background:

I am thinking of the following elements:

1) Traded to the Deddings family because her family failed to lend assistance in (insert pivotal minor river lands battle here) as they had promised.

2) The Deddings are not entirely sure she is a worthy ward because she is a she (despite the general knowledge women stand to inherit title in Dorne).

3) Furious that her Older Brother was not sent as a ward, per tradition, and now he stands to inherit all that is rightfully hers.

4) More than happy to assist her adoptive family (Deddings) as a way to prove her worth.

5) Specializing in water dancing as an introductory combat style until she is large enough to begin spear training.

I am not locking in a full story as I would prefer to have it grow organically with the players.

Status: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 6) = 12

I put this together, would you double check and make sure it comports with the rules?

Max 3 flaws, Max 3 Benefits, Max 3 Destiny Points.

Just to make sure I have this right:
Let's pretend we are in the woods, stalking a bandit.

I use either my Passive Awareness of 20, or I can use Awareness:

4d6+4 (from Water Dancer)

Awareness: 4d6 + 4 ⇒ (3, 6, 6, 6) + 4 = 25

once we find the bandit, if combat ensues, i would:

Fencing 2b + Fighting 4
6d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 5, 6, 2, 2) = 21
Highest 4: 3 + 3 + 5 + 6 = 17

that would compare to the Bandit Combat Defense, and if I succeed, I would do 4 Damage.

If he was wearing any form of Armor, he would reduce damage by the appropriate armor value?

exactly

also depending on the Degree of Success it will be multiplied (Degree of one -> 4+4 | Degree of two -> 4+4+4)

Each DoS in your example deals 4 damage.

Ophelia
Rolls 17

Bandit
Armor 3
Combat Defense 11

You deal 8 damage (4 x2 DoS)
He lowers your 8 damage to 5 because of his armor.

I tweaked into adulthood. I am leaving it up to the Narrator to pick my nemesis and the house I am a ward for, if not Dedding.

As I recall DoD happens well after Prince Jeoffry's wedding. As such, I would like to have, back story wise, travelled north with Oberyn to be handed over to the Deddings at the wedding.

If Ophelia was there, she would have done her best to stifle a laugh at the Dorne table, as she watched Jeoffry die. . . Assuming she arrived early enough to have some clue as to who he was.

If she arrived in time for the wedding and the varied episodes at court before the wedding, she will take a keen liking to Tyrion.

Oberyn is a hero of Dorne and a prince; his daughters are heroes of Dorne. He is all but an object of worship for Ophelia. The revenge he seeks for his slain sister and her children just serve to make him that much more appealing.

This is the first character I have ever made for ASOIAF, so someone more familiar with the maths please make sure I am correct?

We are in the year 120 AC - When things start rolling down hill and fighting and bickering starts before turning into all out war 9 years later.

Dance of the Dragons 129-131 AC

War of the Usurper is in 282-283 AC - Robert Baratheon becomes King.

The evens of the Books are more than 100 years from now, so no you need to change your background and get the timeline straight.

Link to the War we are building the House for:
http://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/Dance_of_the_Dragons

While all these events are yet to unfold since it's 9 years from our current time 120AC spring.

In 110 AC the Martells joined the Triarchy in the war against Prince Daemon Targaryen in the Stepstones. Daemon's brother, King Viserys I Targaryen, spoke of wedding his daughter Rhaenyra to the Prince of Dorne as a way of finally uniting the Seven Kingdoms, though ultimately this did not occur.

The War of the Stepstones is from 106 - 115/116 AC, Dorne fights only the from 110AC onward.

Qoren Martell was the current prince of Dorne, During the Dance of the Dragons both the greens and the blacks courted Dorne's support, but Qoren refused to take part, and died shortly after the civil war.

So it's really hard to justify your presence in the riverlands in this time period. Since Dorne is not yet part of Westeros.

I believe I have everything fixed. Please review (everyone) and let me know of any tweaks you would like to see before she becomes set in stone.

I like the house as set up.

I am still working through the rules on a house, and tried to build one, unfortunately it got DOOM! twice on historical events. On the bright side, it made for good background fodder.

I will buy all the PDFs for this as soon as Friday rolls around again. I got a hard copy at the Con, but it seems to be out of date.

Re-opening recruitment for 1 or maybe 2 players.

Post interest for more information.

Or simply visit the Campaign and gameplay to get an idea of what is happening.

Bumps it to keep it in sight for others to look at. It's a very intriguing system that I'd like to see more people get interest in...if only to have more people to play with ^^

I've got the rulebook but have never played before. I'd very much like to check the rule system out.

I'll take a look at the gameplay but 1600+ posts will take me awhile to get through. Is there anything in particular that the group is looking for? What/who are the current PCs?

This is a good time to jump in. New Chronicle to begin, I'll let the DM give the overview on the action here but the time period is not the current year as withvthe show/books.

I have never played this system before! But I'd love to try it! I'm at work right now, but once I get home I will start working on Wynnter Snow. Yes that is pronounced as winter. Also I am on my phone which really hates the forums for some reason, so I apologize if anything is out of place. The autocorrect on my phone is... Stupid.

Since this game has been going on for a while is character creation still the same? Do we start with extra experience or do we start at base?
