Skrelznit carefully searches for valuables.
Perception: 20 + 16 = 36 +1 vs. Traps

Skrelznit takes the gold and silver and -- after a brief but intense internal dialogue regarding loyalty vs. personal gain -- the ring and notifies his Captain.
He stares at the filthy, decomposing monster paw in his hand, then shows it to the party.
Sometimes these things grant wishes-k-k-k. Anyone can Detect Magic on this-k-k-k?

![]() |

Well, that's very useful-k-k-k.
Skrelznit already has some animal-friendship skills from his Hunter training, so if Zaaka or Sassarra wants the ring feel free to take it.
Shall we move on the the other room-k-k-k?

Sassarra |

Sassarra nods and they move out.
I was thinking that we should turbocharge your animal-fu with the ring. With the ring they start at friendly, then Wild Empathy can bring them up to helpful. I expect that we'll be leaving here with a shiver of sharks. :)

![]() |

Skrelznit's not gonna argue with that impeccable logic.
Moving on...standard Take 10 on Perception.
Stealth Synergy: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (20) + 17 = 37
Damn, two nat 20's in a row and I burn them on routine skill checks. :-/

![]() |

Let me see that-k-k-k.
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
I'm going to suuuuuck at the next battle, but for now Dicebot loves me.

![]() |

Handy-k-k-k!
I think Skrelznit is the only one who casts Druid spells, so I'll take it unless Captain Sassarra has other plans.
Back to D9 and investigate the passages South, starting with the one on the left?
Take 10 on Perception.
Stealth Synergy: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (17) + 17 = 34

Hokina |

I updated the map. You have just been to 14 and 13. 11 is the only path left from D9. There is also a path at the end off 13, and 14 (the hallway/food storage).
Walking into the last exit from the feeding room, you find the room mostly void. A single statuette sits in the center of the room. It looks like some type of wide-mouthed sea dragon.
The dragon as a depiction of Kelizandri, Elemental Lord of Water, also known as the Brackish Emperor.
Quinn whispers to the others the information. 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24

![]() |

Skrelznit pays a minor obeisance to the statue as he passes by on his way to the seaweed curtain.
Doesn't hurt to make good with the god of water when you're swimming through it, right?
Take 10 on Perception past the curtain, move on stealthily if nothing is perceived.
Stealth Synergy: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (11) + 17 = 28
Whenever he can, he takes a short break to see through Looseal's eyes as she soars on the wind.

Hokina |

Looseal looks to be keeping a eye on something in the Canopy with vines for arms. Looseal keeps well above its reach.
Slowly sneaking in, you find your self in a room full of eggs and small sahuagin; some the size of a claw.
In the middle of the rooms sands a Sahuagin of a abnormally large size trying to keep the young Sahuagin in line. She quickly turns looking at Sassara.
"intruders!" Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27

Zaaka: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
Sassarra: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Zaaka goes, then the large Sahuagin, then the whole party.
Round 1:

Round 1:
Zaaka cuts into the abnormal sized fish.
The beast licks her lips before clawing into Zaaka. Zaaka ducks under the fish's mouth.

The Big fish toke 17 from Zaaka
Zaaka took 2 claw (20 damage) from the big fish.
Round 2 start:
The whole party is up.

He then continues to spin, thrusting his spiked body against the creature.

Skrelznit assists in the searching, after a brief but animated discussion with a small water elemental expecting something to attack and focusing on Captain Sassarra briefly while Skrelznit tried to remember any sort of pidgin Aquan to tell it to stop.
Just as he was making headway and the elemental was starting to understand, it popped out of existence back to its own plane.

Let's move on to 14 then. :-)

Take 10 on Perception for 26.

Psst-k-k-k. There's something here-k-k-k.
If possible, Skrelznit digs and/or pokes a hole in the sediment just wide enough to get a glimpse inside.
Take 10 on Perception for 26.
Assuming he sees nothing of interest, he then casts Expeditious Excavation to open a hole large enough for a kobold to move through.
If nothing happens after that, he enters cautiously.
Stealth Synergy: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (16) + 17 = 33

Panache 1/1 | AF 2/2 | Spells 1:3/5 2:1/3
"tied to a rusty archer" -- I don't know what that means. Is it a typo?
Skrelznit is suspicious.
How does a body get mummied underwater? How does it stay mummied underwater? Whoever tied it there, why didn't they take that shiny necklace?
I don't trusts this-k-k-k.
He cautiously examines the body from all available sides, without touching it yet.
Perception: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (2) + 16 = 18 +1 vs. Traps
If he doesn't find anything, he gently pokes it with the trident. If nothing happens then, he stabs the trident into the gut of the body.
Can Quinn Detect Magic?

![]() |

Skrelznit is proficient and uses it two-handed.
Trident damage: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10 + whatever bonuses and effects the trident has
Not sure exactly what kind of critter this is, but if it's not immune to Critical Hits I'll make a case here for this being a Coup de Grace attack. As always, GM has the final say. :-)

Sassarra |

Sorry, busy weekend.
When she attacks, the lightning runs up and down the anchor chain, burning the mummy deeply.

He reaches out his head to bite it, then stops and pulls back. It was probably off.

Skrelznit cheers the double crits that helped enable their success.
Yay-k-k-k! Rest in pieces, rag-doll-k-k-k!
He examines the necklace and searches the body and area for any further tidbits.

Hokina |

Looking closely, Skrelznit sees that the pendant looks to be made of some odd type of Platinum. In the shape of a cluster of tentacles and fluke tails, blue and black shades, the pendant shining.
you think the pendant is worth about 2,000 GP.
Skrelznit finds the twisting colors and tentacles shocking. Some deep inter fear strikes out at him; as if the tentacles reached out around Skrelznit's neck.
Skrelznit make a will save.
Skrelznit is shaking for 1d4 ⇒ 3 rounds.
No magic is detected.

Will DC15: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Skrelznit staggers back, trying to shriek but having trouble breathing. He clutches his throat, repeating over and over,
Get it off me! What is it??
Anyway, it's pretty clear that whatever Skrelznit is battling is something only he can see.
He claws at his throat repeatedly, but after a few moments he seems to fight off whatever it was and returns to normal, albeit with a somewhat haunted look in his eyes, as if he'd seen his own doom.
He refuses to touch the pendant ever again.
