Senjin Alatriste

Map placement is good for me.
Chusynd Karkota
|
Good on the map.
Chusynd, not especially versed in hunting, will chat with Khamûl as he loads his heavy crossbow. Are we supposed to shoot the tiger when we see it, or leave that to the Baron? It's his hunt, after all, isn't it?

Darkness falls upon the hunting grounds. At the baron's command, no light is allowed except for the light of the moon. (low-light conditions)
After about an hour of waiting, Roscoe spots something moving through the tall grass near the baron's trees, and calls for the hunt to commence!
Roscoe acts in the Surprise Round!

"It doesn't look like the tiger, but it is about 80 feet to the south-east."

The baron is in a machan with Darvik. The count is watching the elephant with the porters.
Roscoe grants Senjin some guidance.
Darvik Willowbrook
|
Darvik will ask the Baron for instructions and will act as the Baron would have him do. If he wants me to wait, I'll wait (delay).
Senjin Alatriste
|
Senjin delays as well, waiting for a word from the boss, trying to not destroy the mission, no matter how distasteful he found it.
Chusynd Karkota
|
I'm presuming that Chusynd doesn't see anything and that Roscoe hasn't said anything loud enough for anyone else to hear, which would likely spoil the hunt. If so, Chusynd (not knowing any better) will delay.
| Signboy77 |
Suddenly, a voice is heard crying out. "Baron, down here!"
Baron Will Save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12
The baron glances around at where the voice had come from.
"There it is! There's the tiger!" He points to the beast in on the ground.
However, the beast immediately dashes forward and up the tree, coming up just short of being able to reach the baron.
Okay, since the first three delayed, everybody is up.
The Party & Baron (he'll go after everyone else) are up!

Mini update!
Senjin, the creature is 15 feet up the tree. Sorry I didn't make that more clear.
Khamul's sickly green ray is just wide of the creature. Chusynd shouts out a celestial blessing upon the group. (Everyone gets bless
Darvik steps forward and let's the strange-looking tiger have a taste of steel, badly injuring the creature with blade and shield.
The baron shouts at Darvik, "I appreciate your help, but your in my shot!" However, he takes aim with his musket and fires anyway.
Ranged Touch: 1d20 + 7 - 4 ⇒ (17) + 7 - 4 = 20

I might have missed it since I was skimming whilst waiting for an elevator, but I don't see anything about this small cat. If it's not in melee...
"Oh!" Toshi exclaims as he draws a scroll of Magic Missile and pelts the nottiger for 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 damage! If the baby one also climbed up with no subtly, then Toshi would draw his sword and attempt to stab at it!

Sorry - just one creature. The lion over by you is Roscoe's animal companion.
Toshi pings the creature with a magic missile, but it isn't enough to stop the beast.
The crocotta strikes out at Darvik with a nasty bite.
Bite: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
But fails to bite through the fighter's armor. The crocotta then takes a 5-foot step around the tree to try and reach the baron more easily.

Toshi - keep your scroll.
Khamul's firey-red ray of firey-redness scorches and ultimately kills the beast.
End combat!
"Good shot! I would've liked to have the killing blow, but still - better than being dead."
As the baron lights a torch and gets a closer look at the thing, he remarks, "Why, that's no tiger at all! But look - there's the scar where I nicked him all those years ago. Strange creature - but you can see how it could be mistaken for a tiger, yes?"
He enlists your help to bring it down to the ground and field dress the creature. "I owe it to this creature to dress it down myself - I owe it that much respect."
"Oh, this will look splendid mounted in my study!"
After finishing his deed, the baron wipes his hands and walks over the group of you. "Thank you for your help with this. Tomorrow, I shall lead you to the temple. For now, we can rest."
I'll put up a post later for an introduction to the temple, but feel free to do what you need to do.

Hearing Khamûl's words, Chusynd eyes the tiger beast with alarm. Oh my! IT'S NOT DEAD YET! AAAAHHH!

Senjin doesn't participate in the charade. He still wasn't pleased to be hunting for trophies. Eat the beast, and honor it properly, but to mount it is distasteful.. He turns away, questioning the mission yet again.

"Well, it should be dead now that it's been cleaned out! Ha-ha! Come, let's go back and have a round of rum in honor of our kill!"
The baron is too happy to have his trophy to pay Senjin's sullenness any mind.
After a restful night and a hearty breakfast, Baron Rudyahm leads you through the freshwater swamp. "I'll show you the best way through here - help you avoid malaria."
Though unpleasant, the trek through the swampland is uneventful. The site is almost completely overgrown by vegetation, and only bits and pieces of its brown sandstone exterior are visible from the outside. The weight of the massive roof and the passage of centuries have caused the ceiling to collapse near the building’s center. The jungle around the temple is exceptionally thick and requires a full-round action just to move 5 feet.
The baron looks up at the dilapidated building. "See that frieze up there? That shows Ragdya, a Vudran god of monkeys. The temple is dedicated to him." The baron shakes his head, "If you believe in that sort of thing. Well my friends, this is where you and I part - I hope that you find whatever it is that your Society is looking for."
With that, the baron turns and makes his way back to his caravan.
I'll have a new map up later today. Make any preparations you would like before heading into the temple.

Senjin doesn't acknowledge the 'great hunter's' words. He was glad to see the temple pop up, so that he could be rid of him.

I was a monkey once, it wasn't so bad. Whoops, wrong PC.
Darvik checks to make sure everyone is ready to proceed inside. This place gives me the creeps and I haven't even stepped inside yet. Let's get this over with.

Placement fine by me.
Incidentally, Chusynd has trapfinding thanks to the Seeker archetype, but precious little chance to find 'em with his Wisdom score. So if someone else finds it and points it out he can disable it.

Good on placement here.
"I was in the Mwangi before, though I only fell in an up and down cave. This looks more similar to the time we made contact with the snake people of Tian Xia." Toshi nods, "There was lots of fire and craziness."

Columns line the walls of this small room, each decorated with a high-relief carving of a monkey in a different pose. Some of the monkey sculptures sit serenely in meditation or reach out with their hands as if to deliver blessings to the viewer, while others adopt more naturalistic poses. The floor is littered with decaying plant matter and mud, and the stench of rotting muck pervades the area. An open archway leads south out into the jungle, while a second leads north deeper into the temple.
As you step into the temple, you almost crash into three others leaving. As their leader spots you, she stops in her tracks and gives you her best steely-eyed stare.
"Step aside and let us pass, if you know what's good for you."

The three people shift uncomfortably. You notice that apart from the usual sort of garb and equipment one would expect an explorer to have, they also seem to be carrying items that belong in the temple. (or in a museum) For instance, one of the thugs is holding a golden platter with the same depiction of the monkey god that Baron Rudyahm pointed out to you just a few minutes ago.
