Though rickety, the bridge proves solid enough to cross without hesitation. Uthred chases after the Steel Wyvern thug and drives his axe deep into the man's chest. The thug collapses, blood gushing from his wound.

The thugs are both bedecked in leather armor, and a search of the bodies finds each is carrying 50 gp in a pocket. The table that Firedrake was working at contains a number of alchemical items:
2 acid flasks
4 alchemist’s fire
2 smokesticks
2 tanglefoot bags
2 thunderstones
4 vials of filth fever tonic. (in case you go for a swim in the sewer-water)
Also, you find 240 gp worth of raw materials for alchemical experiments.
The only way from this area is further upstream to the east. No magic is detected.
Since nobody took damage, I'll assume you're ready to trudge onward.
Ahead is a junction where a smaller sewer line once joined the main passage. The ceiling of the smaller passage has partially collapsed, filling most of that tunnel with rubble. The surface of the rubble pile seems to shift strangely and closer examination reveals thousands of tiny vermin fleeing into cracks and shadows.

Jessiue will let out a small whistle, when she sees the small alchemy collection.

If nobody objects, she will grab a acid flask, alchemy fire, and a tanglefoot bag, as well as a vial of filth-tonic. If nobody else grabs the tonic, she will grab the rest just in case.

Krux already 20 feet from the swarm moves away another 30 feet for a total of 50 feet west of the swarm's current position. He will also retrieve a vial of vermin repellent to drink in the following round. His voice echoes in the sewers.

Marduk fumbles his flask of alchemist's fire and it ends up hitting the wall of the sewer tunnel, causing him, Uthred and the swarm of spiders to be singed.
Jessique's throw also misses, also hitting the wall of the tunnel, causing more splash damage to Uthred, Marduk and the swarm.
I believe you only suffer the swarm effects if you are in their space when it is the swarm's turn. But I'll need to check on that for sure.
Krux drinks a potion and readies himself for some spider fun.

D'oh! I missed Serpentfang's previous action - sorry about that. It doesn't change much.
Serpentfang's flask of acid singes the spider swarm. Then, Uthred backs away and throws an alchemist's fire on the swarm, which also happens to ignite a pocket of sewer gas that had been trapped there, causing an explosion, catching Uthred, Marduk, Jessique and Serpentfang. (30-foot radius)
Uthred, Marduk, Jessique and Serpentfang take 2d6 ⇒ (6, 4) = 10 Fire damage. DC 12 Reflex save for half.
The explosion decimates the swarm of spiders.
Combat over. Take some time to heal up before we move forward.

Graffiti covers much of the walls here, most of it simple drawings. Prominent among them is a large stylized drawing of a wyvern in shiny gray paint. (signifying that the Steel Wyvern’s claim this territory) Also among them is an image of a skull crawling with bugs and an arrow pointing back to the west, (a warning about the dangerous insects at the previous junction) and a representation of a beggar’s bowl holding a coin and a key with an arrow pointing to the south. Underneath the picture of the bowl is the word: “Almsman.”
Would you like to follow the sign towards the Almsman, or try to explore the sewer randomly?
