Doctor Ruby Redhat looks at his new Dragon Battalion Badge, with its little dragon. What did the officers say, "Time of need" "the battle of the age" "call to dirty?" no that was wrong, by that point Ruby was bored so he started to play with his new Badge, wile the big ones with lots of Bagde's talked on, ruby made the little Dragon head nod, he smiled as he tested it with a shake. A bigger then most human called out "Steady there in the ranks" Ruby looked at Boris, who was sound asleep by his side. gosh they take sooooo long to get things done here, come onnnn, O! look a Elf war chariot just then the big human on the stage said in a booming voice, Sonic enchantment magic Thought Ruby must have a peek later "You can now join your Battalion and meet your fellow members, dismiss!" with that the horde stared to brake up and go to there rallying points, Ruby snapped his fingers and Boris opened one eye then got up, Ruby jumped on his back and was off like a shot, weaving throw the throng to be the 1st. One hand holding His top hat in place the other holding Boris, his Dragon Battalion Badge dragon head nodding all the way, When he arrived he saluted "Doctor Ruby Redhat reporting Sir"

Well that was a way to report for duty indeed xD Glad to have someone with energy in my group.

Eeeerrrrrmm, after Rubies post, I am almost ashamed to Report OoC, just to ask a simple question. I'm commuting to work, and since I really haven't created a character, outside a basic outline (human-ish gunslinger, or sword&board fighter), I wanted to check with you guys, what do you think? Since we know who's in the group/batallion (cleric, witch, cavalier and a paladin so far), I am more than willing to accept your input when creating character. If the Gm's would allow it, maybe a skill-monkey is needed more?

Male

Gunslinger would be great for me as a player, My PCs a cleric that makes thing and is a skilled gunsmith

Gunslinger seems to be a good fit. Ranged but still capable of close combat

"Victor O'rzet, reporting for cleaning duty sir."

I still have some major fleshing out to do for Victor here but it should be done by Friday

No problem Victor! 3 characters to go!

OK gunslinger it shall be then :-) I want to check Archetypes a bit, but I will have the decision and char. sheet done real soon.

Now, for another question, my starting feat Gunsmithing, list the following as Special: If you are a gunslinger, this feat grants the following additional benefit. You can use this feat to repair and restore your initial, battered weapon. It costs 300 gp and 1 day of work to upgrade it to a masterwork firearm of its type.

If I would to choose Rich parents as a starting trait (if that is allowed, of course), which would allow me to start with 900GP, would that be OK to say that I can start with MW gun/weapon then (of course, subtracting 300GP from my initial 900)? Would that be allowed?

And another, more flavor related question - since this obviously is a combat oriented campaign, would anyone mind if I put a 7 in my "dump" stat, or is is too min/maxing "munchkinizing"? I ask this becaus I see scores of 8 or 9 as "just a bit bellow average Joe" while 7 is already "god damn ugly, has a bad breath..." (if speaking of CHA score, for example)

Male Half-orc Cavalier 1 (Honor Guard)

Reporting in. Looks like I need to change avatars.

Ok I changed my avatar. This is our disscussion thread I assume.

Wow - not one but two half-orcs in our team! And Paladin and Cavalier half-orcs, at that...hehehe, what an interesting setup, plus a gnome and a tengu (gotta check PRD what a Tengu actually is...). Now I don't wanna be human :-(

Male Half-Gnome/Elf

Interesting team indeed! Tengu's are a birdlike humanoids. Beak, claws, feathers. I'm still looking into all the witch stuff, it will be my first witch so hopefully I'll be done when the weekend starts.

"Craww crawww... uh I mean: Deerwyn Coppertail is here, ready to cook some intestines and give you an evil-eye"

or something ;)

OK your "friendly gunslinger neighbor" should be fully completed now (in profile), I took the liberty or "rolling" with some assumptions. If there are any issues, I am at your disposal.

There's some small amount of money left to spend (about 20GP) if everything above is OK, I will easily but more ammo, or something similar (maybe another close quarters weapon?)

Alright then, this is indeed Dragon Battalion's Discussion thread. So welcome one and all to the Siege of the Society. To clarify on some points let me give you a brief rundown of how this will all work out.

Things to keep in mind
- Each of the 3 Battalions is essentially a different campaign set in the same campaign setting and at the same point in time.

- Each battalion performs separate missions, all of which contribute to taking down the Society.

- The Society is a collection of people who all believe that the world is best served up as a sacrifice to their dark masters. As such, they currently control an entire region and have barricaded themselves within it to plan out their apocalypse. Be prepared to fight through anything and everything.

- Completing missions will grant benefits to every battalion. For example, if you liberate a fortress for example, any of the groups can use it as a safe house.

- Sometimes, multiple battalions (2 to all of them) might need to come together to deal with bigger threats.

- Though there will be a lot more combat than RP, I love RP and you are very welcome and encouraged to play your characters during combat encounters. Flavor rules!

- Once again, direct questions in general to the Core Hub and mission questions here.

- We will officially begin on Saturday. In the meantime, the GMs will run through some last minute details, create Onslaught Base (your starting operations HQ) and think up a few new ideas.

You may want to dot this post as well as the Core Hub's discussion post if you haven't already.

Final Checklist
Doctor Ruby Redhat (checked in, completed)
Brass Pigeon's Tengu Witch (checked in, unfinished)
Sir Vorag Tsugo (checked in, completed)
Victor Or'Zet (checked in, completed)
Mihajlo Velickovic (checked in, completed)

All that's missing is Brass Pigeon's character and we can begin

Character Roles
Combat: 3
Healing: 3
Arcane: 1
Stealth/Skill: 1* (depending on the gunslinger)

So we're a very combat powerful group and I'll see to it that our missions are assigned accordingly.

Male Half-orc Cavalier 1 (Honor Guard)

Vorag looks at his squad greeting each member with a grim nod.

Hail and well met all. Sir Vorag says in a mild tone.
I pray I do not let these good people down. By the Light I must not let that happen Vorag quietly thinks to himself after the solem greeting.

As soon as our witch checks in I'll update the gameplay thread and we'll be underway. We can't let the other battalions make fools of us eh?

Male Half-Gnome/Elf

Sorry, he's not ready yet! Hopefully today, I'll let you know!

Male

The Good Doctor meets each of the his new fellow fighters as the come, as he dos so he shoows away 3 small butterflies he mad wile waits, that new seem to have taken on a life of their own and seem to be trying to land on his red top hat. in his profile you will see a link to an image of the doctor To each he says

"Hello I'm Doctor Ruby Redhat, and this is my riding dog Boris, hes a happy old soul and will not bite. Now ill be your medical help for the duration of this campaign.

If you have an conditions that you wish me to know about before we start, we can have a privet talk later later and you can tell me all about it.

Also you are a user of black powder weapons I am smith of such things and I also have extensive knowledge of other areas of mechanics, so if every you need help just let me know.

As Ruby greats you behind him is a large floppy looking dog, he has a riding harness on him, Packs an a very odd looking fire arm of some kind.

This is Doctor Ruby Redhat, Brilliant nuts and I hope fun

Quick question on languages: Tengu automatically know Tengu and Tien, should I substitute Tien for something else? Your choice, my choice, party vote, flip a coin, or just common?

Male Half-orc Cavalier 1 (Honor Guard)

I am not even sure the name of this world we are on, let alone languages spoken on it so not sure what I would suggest. As long as you have common I think we are good, sounds like this is going to be more attack than talk.

Please just take common - I do not want to find us in a situation that your character can not shout to my character: "Look out, on your left flank!" or "Shoot that priest now!" or something similar ;-)

Common is definitely a good choice. Otherwise, dialects are not included but other racial languages are.

Male Half-Gnome/Elf

Then I'll pick orcish!

and since I have a high int, I'll pick common too... :p

Tengu Witch 1 hp: 8/8; AC18/14/14; F:+1; R:+4; W:+2 init: +6

That's alright, we're starting officially tomorrow. Please be finished by then though.

Ok I think I"m done, let me know if I missed something.
Only need to find an avatar now.

So far so good, just need your gameplay presentation post and we can start!

I'm assuming the map mentioned is just a plot device, and there's actually not one that we are really able to see? (I'm kind of a freak, when it comes to maps, love those :-D)

Other than that, you can consider than Porter is automatically following Victor heading out (hate to post one-liners outside of combat)

I'm actually finishing up the map. Didn't get as much time as I would have liked to work on it.

Tengu Witch 1 hp: 8/8; AC18/14/14; F:+1; R:+4; W:+2 init: +6

Sir Vorag Tsuro/Nimon: I don't understand why you're suddenly so disappointed but shouldn't you at least talk to the GM(s) before stepping out?

Male

Sorry GM I did not mean to upset another player, he seem to take every thing I posted badly I really do not understand why.

Don't want to "put my nose where it does not belong", but it would be awfully nice if Sir Vorag Tsuro/Nimon would accept to "come back" and play with us. I do not know, and honestly do not care as to what happened, for me, it's just a game, and I'd like to enjoy it along with any others.

If, for whatever reason man (OK, half-orc) is firm on leaving, that's fine too. Either GM will scale down our encounter accordingly, and have a loose arrow critically wounding/killing him on round 1, or he could recruit a replacement (although, if there is a new recruit, I would suggest that he joins us after first mission, if possible....helps the immersion in the game, at least for me).

Whatever you guys agree/decide is fine by me, as long as we get to play/fiiiiiight real soon :-D

So, I'll stop my rambling here, and go post in the game thread now...

Male Half-orc Cavalier 1 (Honor Guard)

I side stepped his attempts at manipulating me and starting a feud over who was the "leader" of the party. Had I said "Why yes I am the leader follow me blah blah" then I expect the paladin ect would not take kind to that. He kept wanting the press the issue and I am not going to bother with that sort of thing. Then he wants to edjucate me on what a Knight is, as if a doctor is a midget that rides dogs and fires guns. Not feeling it sorry, you had plenty of interested parties to take my spot.

Male

really sorry you feel like that, I think its best I drop out, My intent was never to start any kind of upset. As it was my post I should go, Ill get called back to do some other thing or some such as its early days I know you will find others to take my place.

Gm Thank your your time, sorry I have RP;ed into a problem with another player.

All the best with the game every one.

Tengu Witch 1 hp: 8/8; AC18/14/14; F:+1; R:+4; W:+2 init: +6

My oh my what drama!

How about no one drops out, everybody who's sorry says they're sorry and we can just play on and learn from it? All good?

+9000. Seriously guys, it'd be fun if we could all get along. I've never seen so much drama within the first 10 posts over a problem I don't even understand. I'll temporarily pause the gameplay until I see what I can do as three players will be pulverized... I really don't want to do more recruiting. It's a pain to do. So please, Ruby and Sir Vorag, can we overcome said non-issues and form a battalion capable of beating the monkey out of some ratfolk.

So is it this "monkey" that is making the ratfolk go evil? :p

Unfortunately no... that would that most ancient and evil of vices known as greed.

From now on known as "a monkey".

Wizard: I'll take all the loot.
BSF: Why?
Wizard: Because of a monkey.
BSF: O_o

@Ruby and Sir Vorag: Please stay, your character seem pretty fun to play with. We would make an interesting team. (also I need more people to take hits for me and heal those people, I'm not the healing kind of witch. That's what clerics are for) :D

Male

Ok fellow party members and GM, happy to come back, just tying not wreck the fun, but looks like in dropping I have done just that, so ill carry on happily if your happy with me. Just trying to not be an ass guys.

No problem Ruby. Just be careful how you come across some other players. As well, try and stick with a clearer style of posting. It'll be easier for me.

Good, now where's the other half-orc?

Comeon Sir Vorag, will your orcish honor allow you to "fall behind" in comparison to other batallions!? I for one, do not want to be a part of batallion which won their target last, so come post, and let's thrash some ratfolk "you know what"
