Male Elf Bard - 1

I like the reward you have set for Faelar, it makes sense with everything that has happened too.

Once I get into Pathfinder Chronicler (level 8) I will probably start to put some points into Use Magic Device, as I would get an additional 2 skills at that point per level ... although they could go to new Knowledge's.

Female Human Fighter/6, Ranger/1, Wizard(Spirit Whisper)/1, Arcane Archer/1 - (HP: 64/98; AC27/30; FF21/24; T18; F+10, R+11, W+7/+9; Perc: +13, Init +5)

Faelar - Is there a reason that you are so focused on only a few skills? As a bard, you have multiple other skills that you could drop 1 or 2 skill points into to really get some additional versatility - UMD, Craft(alchemy), Spellcraft, Stealth, Disguise, and a few others.

Male Elf Bard - 1

Normally I would put hardly any ranks into Knowledge's and select all of the useful skills, however Faelar is a bookworm and spends every waking moment trying to learn, as you have figured. Just trying to make the Role-Play better for him. As I said though, once I get into Pathfinder Chronicler I will be getting an additional 2 skills per level.

Stealth and Disguise are not things that he is able to utilise very well and can't usually use them at the right time.

I'm open to suggestions on the boons. I just tried to tie it in with things you've done around town. Karethas was probably the hardest, but I figures sans cleric access to a conjuration (healing) type spell would be appreciated.

As for gear, really the mundane gear Krira requested is fine. Zayifid will just mention that there are no roads beyond Kelmarane only mountain trails so Faelar's wagon wont work and you should travel pretty light on horseback.

What is your plan for mounts again? Karethas seems quite able to provide summoned mounts, but you might want a real one or two.

Male Human Wizard (Conjurer)/ Level: 9 |HP: 53 of 53/ NL| F=6 R=7 W=10 |Initiative +5| Perception +11(+13 w/ Gen)|AC 13(16 w/ Mage Armor)|Active Effect:Planar Adaptation (Fire Resist 20)

What I like about the summoned mounts is that we don't leave anything outside of the Rope Trick to reveal our whereabouts.

Bleh, soory. Holiday weekend and last minute childcare. My home office is still a nightmare despite my move being almost two months done so my computer has been buried in a pile of things. Sorry for the delay/flaking out.

I had thought of at least the two fighters on real horses in case we actually need to fight but the reduced exposure may be worth the tactical hit.

As for Faelar's damage ability I agree he is not looking at lasting long and as Karethas gets more powerful I can use his summoned creatures to do my flanking dirty work so I become less concerned about the lack of pure melee support. My 2 cp

Male Elf Bard - 1

I will probably still try to invest in an Agile Rapier later, I do have Weapon Finesse and if I can't use it, it makes it a pointless and worthless feat. I will also be grabbing Toughness a little later on, I have a couple of feats planned first.

Faelar's main objectives are Knowledge and buffing you all, so you can defeat our enemies quicker. Once we get to level 7 I will be able to start the Performance and Attack in the same round, the full attack every round after. But I think the Agile Weapon is an important thing to get first, otherwise I will just be scratching the enemies.

Female Human Fighter/6, Ranger/1, Wizard(Spirit Whisper)/1, Arcane Archer/1 - (HP: 64/98; AC27/30; FF21/24; T18; F+10, R+11, W+7/+9; Perc: +13, Init +5)

My ability is interesting, very powerful and potentially not so useful. I am planning of taking the next few levels as a Ranger. As such, I will get an animal companion. Rangers are limited - Badger, Bird, Camel, Cat(small), Dog, Horse, Pony, Shark, Snake (constrictor or viper), and Wolf. Of these, Badger, Shark and Wolf really seem useless and/or out of place in this campaign. Bird fits, but does not seem like Kzrira, same thing with a Dog and the Snakes. Pony is too small for a mount for me.

This leaves Camel, Cat(small), or Horse. Horse would be great if I could use the Horse Trader bonus in some fashion (+1 hp/level or something). Camel is interesting, and thematic. A large cat, like a Katapeshi Lion or something would be great, but Rangers are generally limited to small cats. If I could have a large cat, then Kzrira could use it as a mount which would be really fun together with Mounted Archery and the like since the big cat as a mount could climb to give better attack positioning.

Anyway, at this point in the campaign, being able to pick out top quality mounts for the price of regular mounts for Amir and myself should be very useful. I agree that the summoned mounts are great and disposable, but even if we cannot protect them, Karethas could cast an alarm spell around the horses, and a few trained light warhorses would be quite capable of protecting themselves and of warning us if we are not hidden in Karethas' rope hideaway.

HP 94 | AC/Touch/Flat 21/15/18 | Fort/Ref/Will +7/+8/+5 | Init +3 | CMB +9; CMD 23 Acrobatics (15) Bluff (14) Diplomacy (7) Kno:Local (6) Perception (13*) Stealth (17) FIRE: 5

I have been planning on taking Leadership so from a pure money-crunch perspective mine makes sense. Add to that the current indication that it might also mean a certain amount of political influence I don't see it as lacking in crunch or fluff. Plus mine lasts in perpetuity so that would add up. Plus it opens up an interesting character mini-game.(How many cities can I get a discount in?)

I agree that Kzrira's is more difficult to see the pure benefit from in the sense of frequency of use? Unless we plan on using her mounts as tanks :p

Kzrira- you don't have to take an animal companion, there are plenty of archetype alternatives. I also don't mind a hp bonus to an animal companion horse if you like. A cat companion isn't going to be big enough to carry you any time soon.

It sounds like Kzrira and Amir will take real mounts and the other two will use summonings? Are we ready to move on?

Male Elf Bard - 1

Ready, just have to buy the Alchemist Fire and Ice before we leave. Will do that now though.

Kzrira Maiwith wrote:
Can we consider the two horses that Amir and I have to be at max hp? Does not add much, but ever hp can be the difference between a warhorse and dog(gnoll)food.

so maybe the boon is useful? ; ) sure.

Assuming the boons are settled, I would like to add lesser restoration to my spell list.

Male Elf Bard - 1

I have already made use of my boon for half price Alchemical gear and bought 5 Alchemist Fires.

If the boon is going to be changed for any reason, just tell me and I will correct the price.

Kzrira Maiwith wrote:
Just for clarification, the swarm moved more than 100'?

well, yes. My first idea was to toss in some old school blood hawks, but a swarm sounded more fun and there was already a crow swarm statted up so I went with that, but seeing as crows apparently barely fly faster than a man can walk (really?) and could no way keep up with a roc...

I'm torn between 80 for bloodhawks and 60 for reg hawks to give you a chance. I'll go with 60.

blame dicebot for your misfortune, not me : )

Hey everyone I apologize for this and I will post this everywhere I can so that folks can be sure to run into it:

There have been some recent developments in my life both logistically and emotionally that are going to need my focus and attention. While I think I should be able to continue to play after a short hiatus I think it best if I discard other more time consuming activities for the health of my family and in fairness to all of you folks who I play with. (Like some of the games I am running on the boards.)

I should be back in about a week or so to posting. I apologize for the abruptness of it all but hopefully if you folks are okay with me out for a bout a week I can return and be a more consistent presence. I appreciate any tolerance or patience you can muster. Thanks.

Get better Amir - we need you here, but RL and family always comes first.

Sure, Devon. Thanks for letting us know what's up. Take care of everything and if you can make it back, we'll look forward to your return.

Why are trogs your favorite, Faelar? I don't think that I've ever encountered them as a player which isn't too surprising as I usually GM.

I'd have to say either gnolls and kobolds are my favorite classic monster race though Paizo has definitely given goblins style points : )

Male Human Wizard (Conjurer)/ Level: 9 |HP: 53 of 53/ NL| F=6 R=7 W=10 |Initiative +5| Perception +11(+13 w/ Gen)|AC 13(16 w/ Mage Armor)|Active Effect:Planar Adaptation (Fire Resist 20)

I've run into Trogs a few times. I think they are in the first part of the Second Darkness AP even.

Male Elf Bard - 1

I don't know why, I just enjoy them. Most people hate them, especially for the stench ability, but I think they look cool and are very interesting.

If I could, I would even play as one, but they didn't even put stats for that in the Ultimate Races book, which is a shame.

Female Human Fighter/6, Ranger/1, Wizard(Spirit Whisper)/1, Arcane Archer/1 - (HP: 64/98; AC27/30; FF21/24; T18; F+10, R+11, W+7/+9; Perc: +13, Init +5)

I don't even want to know what the point cost would be for a continuous stench ability. Would probably be similar to being able to cast Stinking Cloud at will.

I am not sure if I have ever run into a trog. Not sure whether they are in the Descent into the Depths of the Earth/Vault of Drow (D1-3) series. There was something like them, although it may have been another reptilian humanoid race.

I am yet to run into them in any PF campaign that I recall.

I am around today and reading to catch up will post tomorrow.

For some reason I was thinking glitterdust hung around like a fog cloud. It sounds like the burst is instantaneous, but the glitter sticking to body and eyes continues.

Also my reading is that glitterdust doesn't produuce its own light as faerie fire, but is highly reflective so if there's no light back there it doesn't help illuminate targets.

Male Human Wizard (Conjurer)/ Level: 9 |HP: 53 of 53/ NL| F=6 R=7 W=10 |Initiative +5| Perception +11(+13 w/ Gen)|AC 13(16 w/ Mage Armor)|Active Effect:Planar Adaptation (Fire Resist 20)

I didn't think it did either thing. It is instantaneous and does not provide illumination. I just wanted to blind the Trogs so we could go engage them at an advantage. I cast light on Kzrira's bow at the beginning. Can we assume that Faelar cast light on something at the other end of the room while we were prepping for the fight?

I just saw that I posted the 5,000th post on the other thread. Good job keeping it going all!

Karethas ibn Faradin wrote:

Ah, I missed that when you first entered the caves. Faelar only has dancing lights or light on his wayfinder I believe. So I'm fine with him having the dancing lights up on the far end at the start of combat.

OK, tell me what everyone has in the way of fire resistance and what's the default for lighting- Amir's torch, Karethas' light spell on Kzrira's bow?

I do not think anyone has any fire resistance. Something we need to consider going forward.

I'm not sure who ended up with the gems from the shrine of Nethys. The Ruby had fire resistance 5. Karethas has spells and scrolls available should they be needed.

Female Human Fighter/6, Ranger/1, Wizard(Spirit Whisper)/1, Arcane Archer/1 - (HP: 64/98; AC27/30; FF21/24; T18; F+10, R+11, W+7/+9; Perc: +13, Init +5)

Ah, forgot about the gems. I do not have them on my sheet, so I am pretty sure I do not have them. I think Amir or Faelar took them.

Male Elf Bard - 1

I don't have them.

I am sure that they got lost in the mix when we leveled/had a year off. Remember we were way over on our WBL and essentially picked and chose equipment to get back to close to norm.

I found this a while back in the Discussion thread. It shows that we planned on selling the rest of the gems, but not the Ruby. I believe that we kept it, but it was more of a group item, not counting against anyone's total.

This is the last mention of the seal. With Karethas' interest in Genies, it would not have gotten too far from him. If no one objects, I will take it and we can take it off the next loot split? Oh I don't care about holding it and at this point we have arranged it that you have it and I am fine with that. It might make sense moving forward to rethink it only in that if I am not *near* you, then I can still survive without you needing to cast on me since I get that heat will be a recurring thing for us to contend with.

I think we are all on board that is should not be sold. Not only for the benefit but I think we all shared the impression that it had more important value later anyway?

I think that Amir having the gem is best. If we are in a room getting attacked by fire, or moving down a hot passage, Amir and I are likely to be the first two down. If I am protected by Tempest, then having Amir keep it makes sense.

They are currently:

1 Rogue/bard arcane duelist
1 cleric of gozreh
1 oracle/babarian
1 Wizard

Fun group dynamic, they just lost a paladin.

Honestly at this point they are fairly balanced. Despite the oracle dip the barbarian hits hard, the wizard slings spells and the cleric and duelist mop up the rest. There was formerly a samurai in the party which made them really martial heavy and right now I am contemplating adding one to 2 players based on interest and based on the group's will...I would say make whatever and bring it to the party, they seem to have the bases covered.

That said, they do seem to get themselves into intractable fights for some reason so I won't lie having martial oriented or healing abilities won't hurt.

They just hit 4 and are at the near beginning of Skinsaw. Little behind level wise, it was a bigger group.
