Round 1:
Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23

Assuming she had time to move before the door was opened:

To Hit: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26
Damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

To Hit: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24
Damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

Rapid Shot. Point Blank Shot is NOT included.

If she still has a visual bead on at least one enemy when the door is opened, she will simply go whenever she can. If she does not, she will hold action until an enemy is in sight.

If she does not have time to move before the door was opened, please let me know, as I am strongly considering taking a double move to get out of Rev's line of fire instead in that case.

"By the time we crashed into his life, maybe. But there was a point..." Her voice gets a little stronger, more like the confident woman who snuck Fiosa into Westcrown a few months ago. "He could have been redeemed." She shrugs, "I know that you all tried for a better outcome." Smiles at Melilot.

that was the mission Melilot says gravely.

Male Human Rogue 15/Shadowcaster 1

At the sight of Gravlax chugging the potion and Melilot backing away, Cassian chuckles to himself. He glances up at the monkey on his shoulder and scratches the little guy's neck. "You have to admire our esprit de corps," he murmurs.

Rev:
Based on what he knows of their creation and existence, it would be unlikely that they could be tamed.

Melilot:
I will let you know when it more difficult to stay out of range.

Male Human Mobile Fighter 14 Acrobat 2

Round 1:

Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

The ultimate goal, I suppose, is to fight from higher ground. But I don't think Gravlax can reach a piece of high ground that's adjacent to a dog.

So instead, Gravlax attacks the nearest non-bone-dog with his black sword.

Attack 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Damage 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
plus if relevant 1d6 ⇒ 1 precision

Cassian:
Gorvio
He nods, not comfortably, "My mother." He looks down, not sure how much he should tell, if it matters. "Uncle says its my fault that she isn't quite right anymore."

Tarvi
She rolls her eyes, "Her face is a little to stubborn for your taste, I guess." She laughs, "At least she's probably bright enough to know you'll break her heart in the end." Her head settles on his shoulder, "The really dumb ones always ended up in the store, crying. One or two even expected Father to 'do something'."

Azhar:
The two others seem to be doing some prep work for another piece, but nothing immediate. And the pair is within easy speaking range.

Gravalax:
Her hand lets go and she turns to lean against the wall next to him. "Rules don't apply to everyone." She says with a shrug. "He won't go looking for me in the city proper, he doesn't have the resources for it." She smiles, "And I'm not worth it, really."

She looks at him, "He's dangerous because he is bigger and stronger than me and because I am no longer protected under the only rules he needs to follow."

She looks at him, "Sorry about that, it was good timing in that we were already over the Wall, but bad timing that it happened at all." Her voice growing quiet, almost shamed.

Melilot:
Melilot wrote:
that was the mission Melilot says gravely.

Fiosa looks over at Melilot and maybe it was the tone, the seriousness, but the brown haired woman starts to chuckle, a wide smile growing. "I suppose it was."

When her laughing quiets, "I suppose I just need to learn to deal with the visions," she grabs a knife, slicing her palm. As the blood wells up, her hair starts to glow with a fiery hue, the wound heals, and the kitchen is washed in the light of a summer day for just a moment. "There were apparently gifts to balance the bad."

GM/flex:

Mathalen wrote:
"Rules don't apply to everyone." She says with a shrug.

Gravlax frowns deeply at this. "They should," he says. "Bad things start to happen when they don't. Wrong things."

And then he blinks at Mathalen. "Wait -- he's only dangerous because he's bigger and stronger? That's it? He's just a bully?"

Gravalax:
She turns to him, humor in her dark eyes at his tone. "When you put it that way he sounds far... less."

She shrugs, "And he mostly is a bully," she admits freely. "But a bully who has people who follow him, a cruel streak, and..." she pulls her lower lip into her mouth, gnawing at it for a moment while she thinks of what word she wants to use. "...it annoys him when something slips from being under his power."

A pause, "And I wasn't very good at being obedient when I was under his power." Her voice getting that same flatness that it had in the garden.

Male Human Rogue 15/Shadowcaster 1

GM:
Gorvio
"Oh does he now," Cassian says. "Let me have a look at the guy and maybe I can figure it out."

Tarvi
"Break her heart? Can't imagine why anyone would ever let me get close enough."

Cassian:
Gorvio
The kid smiles, not a happy look for him at the moment, "And you'll teach me how to do the same?" Hope full in his tone.

Tarvi
She looks up at him, just a small, intentional, touch of petulant little sister in the set of her mouth. "The actress, with the black hair and blue eyes," just in case he needed clarification, "Said it was my fault that you were a reprobate."

Male Human Mobile Fighter 14 Acrobat 2

GM/flex:

"A bully with followers and a cruel streak?" Gravlax nods to himself. "Sounds like someone who needs a lesson."

Gravlax looks at Mathalen. "But not tonight."

Male Human Rogue 15/Shadowcaster 1

Gorvio

Gravalax:
"Not any night. There are more people around at night to guard him." The comment made off-hand, like she has thought the possibility through.

A pause, as if what he said really sunk in, "You have plans tonight?" Her voice slightly apologetic as she realizes that she never bothered to check before dragging him off.

Cassian:
Tarvi
Her blue eyes sparking with humor, "Would never be allowed to admit otherwise." Just the proper note of almost offended sensibilities mocked.

Amaya looks in Azhar's direction with a small smile, but the older man sets forward before she has a chance to say anything. "We are still learning, the perfection of art requires constant practice." He nods. "I have learned history and theory in addition to the practical. My favorite myth about the first glassblower involves a dragon."

A pause, "As do most good stories."

Gravalax:
Her look is a little questioning when he looks back, "Smart plan?" A shrug, "That will require much thought and planning." Apparently deciding that Gravalax must have been talking to her.

She smiles, trying hard to pull herself back to who she is normally. Lacing her arm with his, "My plan is to get you home, safe and sound, before the sun sets."

Cassian:
Tarvi
"And SO modest." Trying hard for an acid tone and failing. Poking him lightly in the ribs.

A pause, a beat, "Azhar is chasing Amaya." Another pause and then, amused, "And me." She starts to chuckle, "And he asked me what kind of jewelry Amaya likes." Utterly amused by the straight forward approach of the large swordsman.

Round 1 - The Hidden Secrets

From the northern part of the room, everyone hears a formal stiff language which implies brimstone.

Infernal:
Holy grandfather, Mammon of the treasury. Give speed and ferocity to those who serve.
Spellcraft DC 16:
The voice cast bless.

From her place all the way back at the wall, Melilot sends two stone into the hell hound puppy. There is a slight whimper of pain, quickly covered by a threatening growl from the blood-hungry beast.'

"Hello puppies. Time to go to sleep." Azhar moves to where he can attack the remaining hellhound and a skeletal dog. His heavy blade flashes out and strikes the fire-eyed pup, opening a deep slash.

The skeletal dogs slink forward, striking at Azhar with bone claws and teeth... mostly missing. (Azhar takes 5 hit points.)

Cassian unslings his bow and sends an arrow at the visible hell puppy. The surprized animal now has a arrow sticking from it's pelt in addition to the hard pebble wounds. It is all too much and the puppy collapses to the ground.

Rev moves into the room up to the remaining pup, he touches the creature, whose skin splits open, gushing blood.

Rev:
Levitate is useable at will, but activating the ability is a standard action.

The hit point damage below has already taken Rev's fire resistance into account.

The injured hellhound, in pain, takes it's revenge, a cone of fire engulfing Azhar, Rev, and its collapsed friend. The downed pup is not harmed by the fire, Azhar, on the other hand, is. Rev... less so. (Azhar takes 9 hit points. Rev takes 4 hit points.)

Janiven moves into the room, but with her back to a wall. She fires at the remaing hellhound, the shot true. Apparently hellhounds have a unknown vulnerability to arrows, because this dog falls as well.

Gravalax moves into the room, intending to attack one of the hellhounds with his black sword. With them fallen, he instead breaks several of the bones on one of the skeletal dogs.

Gravalax:
I didn't switch you to your fist because 1d3+2 has a max damage of 5 and with what you rolled with the sword you still did 4 hit points, I hope that is okay.

Round 1 - Devil's in the Details

Again the hellish voice, this time producing two effects. First, a black mace that glows with a sickly reddish light appears next to Rev. The blow of the weapon is absorbed by the tiefling's armor. Second, two copies of the same person appear in the room. This one's devilish heritage is clear, the combination of long branching horns, pointed ears and unfortunate facial hair making him look... goatish. To top off such comparisons, his right foot is hoofed. "Just who came to beard the devil in his den?" His voice almost conversational.

Melilot takes a step into position and shoots two more pellets towards the skeletal dog near Gravalax. The first shot bounces off the bones without breaking any, the second is far more successful.

Azhar grunts, slices through the bones of both undead with a single blow, then looks northwards. Both of the dogs crumble to shards and dust.

Rev pulls his symbol, channeling healing. (Everyone except Melilot heals 3 hit points.)

Cassian heads for the newly not-invisible spellcaster, dropping his bow, and drawing his rapier. At the same moment Gravalax moves to the other side of the unholy cleric. Both men strike, Gravalax's blow a bit high, but distracting the horned tiefling enough that Cassian's rapier is quite vicious.

Janiven shoots, but the shot goes high, to her annoyance.

The remainder of the journey back to Gravalax's apartment in the scribe sector of the city is peaceful.
