Ardanto Valanto wrote: "Me feel funny in head as well, things carry it in bite? Or maybe acid?" Ardanto mutters, slurring and sounding drunk.
Turning to the new comer he smiles and holds out a sweaty hand, "Name is Ardanto, maybe you hear of me?"
"I can't recall if it came from a particular direction. I was too preoccupied at the time I guess."
To Ardanto: "I'm not from around here so no I don't think I have heard of you. And the Xoriat-spawn killed and ate all of their victims so I could not say if their bite or remains are infectious. But by the Sovereign Host I hope not."
To Guard: "Maybe we should get him seen about though. I don't know him, but he seems feverish and confused. Unless this is normal for him."
Warforged Fighter 2 / Incarnate 4 / Ironsoul Forgemaster 3
"Him not being normal is normal, but he seems more crazed then before though. At least before he could speak straight...
Could it be that the magic lingers here like the evil stench of the creatures we just have slain? "
Male Half-elf Monk 4/Sorcerer 1
"Ardanto, are you not fooling around as usual? At any rate, there's little we can do now, I think. So let's finish our search of the caves."
Fighter Level 9
"Noooo," Ardanto shakes his head slowly in response to Finn's question, "Ooooooo" then groans in pain as he does so. "Noo urge too eat youu yet," he mutters.
He inserts the hilt of the new dagger beneath his breastplate to get at the irritating itch.
Male Human Wizard (Universal) 9
"Lord Thoven, can you quickly check Ardanto? He does seem less coherent than usual. If these things carry a disease, we should be aware of it. Do you have the ability to restore any of his intellect?"
lesser restoration, maybe?
Male Human Cleric 5th
Pondering over Ardanto he raised a brow."Of course Daurros!" He said as he clenched the silver arrowhead pendant around his neck and muttered a soft prayer"Light Of The Silver Flame, Replenish this mind!"

IC is a jerk.
GM
Thoven what was you casting? And where to now? Oh Ardanto has 14 HP
Male Half-elf Monk 4/Sorcerer 1
I thought he was casting Lesser Restoration, but it doesn't look like he has it memorized.
GM
It is not on his readied list

Keeper of Forbidden Lore wrote: And where to now? Left again. Keep to what you did before.
After a brief inspection of the room, Guard moves to the passageway left of the one they came from.
"You all coming?" he asks, Hammer back in hand, Shield held up.
Male Human Cleric 5th
Total brain fart-Not prepared...ignore that post.
GM
Well you got 2 ways, one goes back the way you came the 2nd goes back to the beach
Fighter Level 9
Ardanto will make a point of checking the bodies, which no one else seems to have done, and then a quick scout of the room, he is still hoping to find a weapon capable of hurting these creatures.
"Disease, maybe," he agrees with Daurros and Finn, Thoven's fake prayer brightens his mood but does nothing for his sanity or his multiple wounds.
Male Half-elf Monk 4/Sorcerer 1
We'll go further into the cave, away from the beach
Ranger 2/ Magus 7
Unless someone directs me otherwise or if it isn't possible, I'll try to find a place in the marching order away from both Ardanto and Finn, in that order.
GM
Heh good call that. Ok guys we will head back to the room of hanging silks. there are 4 other door ways. Starting from the one you backtracked and going counter-clockwise. The archway below you heads back to the beach and is the way you came into the room the first time.On the southeast wall there is one that seems to head south. There are opening s on the Northeast and north west side as well. So wech way?
Ranger 2/ Magus 7
Which way to the cells they were taking me to?
Talking about the silks,"Here's some of the product I was shipping. It looks like they aren't worth much any more."
GM
northwest, as for the silks they might still be worth something when dry
Warforged Fighter 2 / Incarnate 4 / Ironsoul Forgemaster 3
Uh... I totally lost directions... Could you post an overview of explored areas?
Ranger 2/ Magus 7
"I was being taken that way before... all this happened."
Toxim points northeast.

"Perhaps there are more captives who are still alive. I suggest we go Northwest first."
Male Half-elf Monk 4/Sorcerer 1
Finn hushes the others and listens to the northeast and northwest for any sign of life.

As you make your way northwest from the room of shadow and silk you find yourself in a rough hall somewhere off in the distance you can hear screams of rage of fear your not sure.
A ways down the tunnel you come to a side door of wood. You can enter or move past it down the tunnel

Guard looks back to the others, whispering: "The door is on the left... Anyone want to try hearing it out, before I break it down?"
Ranger 2/ Magus 7
"Can I have a look at it?"
Toxim moves up to the door and listens carefully for a few moments, then gives it a thorough but quick examination to see if there's any traps. When he's done, Toxim steps back and to the side.
"Seems all clear to me"

"Someone's barred from the other side. Someone probably barricaded it to protect themselves."
Warforged Fighter 2 / Incarnate 4 / Ironsoul Forgemaster 3
"Hmm... Barricaded? Then they can't come out so fast too. Break in, or leave it for now?" Guard asks the others.
Male Human Cleric 5th
Quirking a brow softly, Thoven rubs his chin for a moment."I don't suppose We could knock?"
Warforged Fighter 2 / Incarnate 4 / Ironsoul Forgemaster 3
"Take your turn, if you like to." Guard answers, steping away from the door.
Male Human Cleric 5th
"It couldn't Hurt-I don't suppose." He says as he steps forward and knocks assertively on the barricaded door with the butt end of his drawn mace.
Fighter Level 9
I don't suppose Thoven still has the potion of lesser restoration from the dungeon under the island where we met him? It is listed under loot on my character sheet.
Ardanto stands towards the rear of the group feeling sorry for him self, multiple wounds, cuts and burns covering his body.
Male Human Wizard (Universal) 9
I don't recall anyone using it.
Per usual, Daurros will stick to the middle of the party, but is willing to rest for a moment while folks get healed up.
GM
2 things, 1 I used 5 charges to heal Ardanto he is at 32 HP, also that potion has not been used
Actions?
Warforged Fighter 2 / Incarnate 4 / Ironsoul Forgemaster 3
Guard waits for a response to the knock on the door, then looks around the group to decide if he should break down the door or just go on ahead.
GM
No sound comes from the room but the knock does echo though the howl...somewhere out in the dark something screams with savage glee
Ranger 2/ Magus 7
Let's knock it down. I'd like to get back at the pirates or the Xoriat-spawn.
GM
That would be a str check
Warforged Fighter 2 / Incarnate 4 / Ironsoul Forgemaster 3
Guard raises his shield in response to the howls from afar, then looks at Toxim who wants to knock down the door. "I don't want to be caught in between two opponents. Better not provoke that situation to arise."
Male Half-elf Monk 4/Sorcerer 1
"I agree; if someone is barricaded in there, we can always return. Let's take care of some more madmen -- or mad-things -- first."
Let's go towards the howling
Warforged Fighter 2 / Incarnate 4 / Ironsoul Forgemaster 3
"Settled then." Guard speaks shortly, then moves onward into the darkness, Snem spending light from over his shoulder.

GM
As the group approaches the room, howls and screams of anguish can be heard, light spills into the dark corridor from the groups lights. Near the front Snem bobs and weaves thought the air scatting light about the stalactites above . Once you look into the room you see Dozens of five foot wide iron cages that are built into the walls of this large cavern. Some are empty, while others contain partially eaten remains of dead men and women. Yet most horrible are those cages that contain thrashing, wailing figures. Each more deranged and mutilated then the last. wounds seems carved into the skin with fingernails and bone, flesh hangs loose win unholy pattens , bones splinters shoved though the skin, jaws and eyelids in pattens and designs. All this you see as they slobber and howl and throw themselves again and again against the bars arms outstretches n madding rage and hunger. Nothing human remains in the eyes of the creatures impacting upon the iron bars craving your flesh
Your map
A few notes. There is an exit in the top right side if ya cant make it out...also all creatures in that pic are in cages , none are loose
Male Human Wizard (Universal) 9
"We should destroy them. Either they would starve to death in these cages, or they'll break free and spread their taint even further."
Male Half-elf Monk 4/Sorcerer 1
"Is this your 'merchandise', Toxim?" Finn sneers as he jerks his spear in the direction of the cages. "I agree with Daurros; we can put these wretches out of their misery, but first let's make sure no enemy has been left free."
Ranger 2/ Magus 7
"Thank Olladra, that could have been me. They were taking me here when it happened."
Getting closer to a cage, though still out of reach.
"I know him. He was a young nobleman out to see the world for the first time. And the shifter over there was a merchant as well. We talked about doing some business together. They were good people before the magic changed them."
Toxim turns to the group, barely holding back the tears.
"We must show them some mercy and put them out of their misery."
Warforged Fighter 2 / Incarnate 4 / Ironsoul Forgemaster 3
"Hmm... are we sure, that we can't reverse their condition? You say they were good people, so should we not try to get them back, instead of slaying them under the cover of mercy?"
Ranger 2/ Magus 7
How is Ardanto doing after the potion?
Toxim looks over to Ardanto.
If he's doing better:
"It would be dangerous to bring them with us, doubly so if they can spread their condition like a disease. But I could come back with help or stay here while the rest of you get help."
If he's not doing better:
"It would be dangerous to bring them with us, doubly so if they can spread their condition like some disease. We don't seem to have the capability to cure it. They were good people and I would probably be willing to accept some risk them, but I will not wager my soul."
GM
ardanto
Ardanto is a little better not much
Male Half-elf Monk 4/Sorcerer 1
"We can certainly tell the authorities in Sasserine about these wretches, although I don't know what they can do. At any rate, let's explore the rest of the cave. Vanderboren may still be here!"
Male Human Wizard (Universal) 9
"We're fooling ourselves. These wretches seem too far gone, in my opinion. Not even human anymore. We need to end their misery."
