With a nod, Gobzilla finish up his "hamburger" (and makes a mental note to bring the concept back to the village; whoever thought of putting cook beef between two pieces of bread was a genius).
"Rawr! Ready to go too!"

Gemdar |

Gemdar gets all the food that's left and starts putting it in little white boxes that fold closed.
"These take the food with you boxes are great! I don't know why they call them "doggie bags" though. They're not bags and they're not made of dogs.... I think. That would be one good use for a dog though."
He then mumbles around a mouthful of bread, "Which way again?"

Day 2, Tuesday (turn 100) The Party of Heroes has travelled, though some unexplainable means, to a different universe, the Here. It is day, the ceiling is open, the sky is blue, and the air is clean
The group marches almost in single file straight up the stairs, turns right and heads for the little glass door marked “Afterwords”
Fluuk takes the lead and after studying the door for a moment, he understands the language of the writing that says “pull” and he pulls open the door.
Inside the small strange shop he place is dark, and the walls are lined with shelves selling small boxes decorated with garish artwork. In the center of the shop there are four small tables set up with two chairs, each one on each opposite side of each table, and the girl you suspect as Ivvinne is sitting at one of them.
She is sitting across from a handsome human boy, and she is one of two females sitting at the four tables, while the rest of the seats are occupied by human boys.
They all appear to be playing a strange card game.
When you approach the black haired girl, she looks at the group of you and says
I knew I ran out of time. So now what? You found me, but I’m not giving you the key. We can talk, but you have to wait until I’m finished with this tournament.
There still remains a tiny possibility that this girl is not who you are looking for, and her reference to a "key" may be a coincidence, is there something you can do to make her identify herself?

Gemdar |

Gemdar finds a chair and sits and starts eating from a "doggie bag".
"They've got such good food here. So whatcha playing and do you need a little of my help?" He then winks twice at her pushes his elbow out to the side twice.

Ivvenne glares at Fluuk when he is waiting to find out if she really does have cookies, and eventually he wanders off.
YES! Ivvenne exclaims, and then after adjusting the cards on the table she places this card down, face up.
Her opponent makes a disgusted noise, and then scoops the cards in front of him.
That seals it, Ivvenne says out loud. Now I have enough cards to possible sell enough of the good ones to be able to pay for another shot at winning the Skaser tag Challenge.
When she stands up from the table, she looks around at all of you, then drops her head, as if in defeat, and says.
I suppose this was meant to be, come on, outside I’ll explain.
Once you have all followed her outside she explains
The couple that own this shop won’t let anyone near the door to the After unless they can beat the reigning champions of the Skazer Tag Challenge. Now I’m not certain, but I’m pretty sure that the team is made up of gnomes and kobolds who came here and never wanted to go home again. They’re good, a really good team, and I’ve been forced to join a bunch of random rookie teams a couple of times and been defeated every time. Then I ran out of money, you need money to pay to play in the challenge, so now that I have enough I’m going to sign up for the next challenge, this Friday night. If the rest of you have any money we can all sign up as a team, beat the champions, and get access to the door.
The Skazer Tag challenge is this, you have to be on wheels, so skates or one of these boards with wheels, which use to be my mount and I don’t know why but I can ride this board as well as I was able to control my mount back home. They give you a special vest to wear and it is connected to a gun that doesn’t shoot anything but the vest knows if you could have been hit by somebody else’s gun. Your shots only count if you are on wheels and the contest takes place in a special arena that is in a huge building near here. You score points for making shots that hit your opponents, and you get bonus points if you score a hit when doing a trick on your wheels. The arena has a lot of ramps and obstacles, so it is hard to stay on your wheels all the time. If you fall down your team loses points. If you are hit three times they make you leave the game.
If you guys are any good, if you can shoot while on your wheels, we can beat these guys I know it. What do you say. I’ll help you and you’ll help me and together we will all get to the after, or together we won’t?
The Skazer Tag Challenge will be like an encounter, though there will be no need for initiative. Each round each player will be required to make a Ride Skill Check, and you can apply a negative modifier to the roll of any amount up to the ranks you have in Ride Skill. The DC for the Skill Check is 10. IF you roll a 1 on the skill check, you wipe out, and fall, your team loses a point. If you roll below 10, then you apply a negative modifier to your to hit roll for that round equal to the difference between what you roll and 10. If you roll 10+ and you score a hit on your to hit roll for that round, you score one point, plus one point for each negative point of modifier you took on your ride skill check. Each round you can choose to roll a to hit roll against the Blizzard patrol. There will be 6 members of the Blizzard Patrol, with Ehsmaralduh and Ivvenne you will have six on your team. Each round you can make a ranged touch attack with the gun that you are given, and all your modifiers for using guns normally apply (except nothing here will misfire or be damaged). You can cast spells during a round, instead of taking a shot, if you think it will affect the other teams ability to shot at you, but you cannot use magic to directly injure the other team. The battle will be ten rounds of skating/boarding and shooting the Blizzard Patrol while they shoot at you and the team that scores the most points at the end of ten rounds wins the Skazer Tag Challenge. If you win, you will be granted access to the door to the After.
Any question, post them in the discussion thread. We will have the group camp out in the city for a few days untiol the day of the challenge, and then the battle will take place

Fluuk |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

"Count me in!"
Fluuk will spend time in that store and other book stores reading as much as he can about the strange place he is in. He also finds that books exist about a type of game that seems to mimic the world he comes from. He studies these "Pathfinder" books chuckling to himself the entire time. He watches the peculiar events on the flat crystal balls depicting events from far away places. He marvels at the 'magic' in place in this world, how the humans fight their wars, their machines that can fly and sail and drive without beast. He takes a ride in a taxi and ends up getting lost for a while. He eats a LOT of food gaining several pounds. At one point someone asks him if he shouldn't be at school. Fluuk almost responds but isn't sure he should be talking about his origins. He instead shuffles off as the oldster berates him "The youth of today will be the downfall of society! Mark my words!"

Once you are outside of the structure that Ivvinne has called, “the Mall,” she and Ehsmaralduh begin to show Tabaaac and Gobzilla the basics of staying upright and keeping your balance while on shoes that have wheels or on a board mounted on wheels. Back and forth you glide across smooth grey stone surfaces, until...

Arennoine Darenal |

Cheese it the cops! Ivvinne shouts, and she picks up her board and starts running. Then all of you see several human men and women in blue uniforms walking quickly toward you, and they are shouting and waving their hands.
Ivvinne stops turns around and says, These C kurity guys come along every so often and chase you away whenever you try to ride around this place. It’s worse if you try to ride inside, but as long as you keep changing where you are practicing, by Friday we all should be good enough to win

Fluuk |

"What's a cop? Why would they chase us away? Can't we just kill them and take their treasure?" Fluuk rolls up his sleeves and prepares to cast a spell, realizing he doesn't have his bow, his gun, his animal companion or his awesome mummy hat.
Fluuk sighs.

Gemdar had not even finished lacing his skates when the authorities chased the group away from the mall. Fleeing at top speeds, Gemdar found a natural talent for balance and agility while in the wheeled shoes.
When the group finally stopped fleeing and regrouped for additional training, Gemdar was already a pro.
For the rest of the night the group practiced, and occasionally fled from various authority figures. When the night finally came, the heroes were amazed at the number of magical lights on the tops of tall poles spread out all along the cities roads. Ivvinne led the group north of the city, to a huge block shaped building with no windows, and an enormous multi-colored sign on the roof that reads
“Skate City”
At the entrance to the building Ivvinne collected money from each of the heroes, and paid a fee to a old human woman with big hair, sitting behind a plate of clear glass. Then Ivvinne handed each of the heroes a ticket.

Arennoine Darenal |

This is your entrance ticket to the Skazer Tag Challenge on Friday. That’s still a few days away. I don’t have a place to live, but if any of you have enough money we can rent a room in an Inn, they even have one called the Village Inn, the rooms are small, but they each have two big beds, and some of us can sleep on the floor. They even have a tiny room with water that falls from a pipe in the ceiling where you can get clean. It’s just like the thermal falls north of the Casserback Caves.
Ivvinne leads the group to a strange orange roofed building, where after pooling everyone’s available monies; a room is rented for three nights, and leaves everyone with about ten gold pieces left to share.
For all of the next two days, Wednesday and Thursday, the group explores the city between the Inn and the Mall, finding even stranger restaurants, delicious candies, pies and cakes, even small round cakes with holes in the center for carrying on a pole, even though no one around the place had a pole to carry them with. Money is tight, but Ivvinne manages to play in another tournament, and wins enough cards to sell for thirty more gold pieces, and everyone eats, well eats a little, but the food is good.

On Friday, the group practices on the boards and skates one last time, and when it is almost sunset, Ivvinne leads everyone back to the Skate City arena.
As you approach the building you see another team of skaters, they are four young human boys, and two human girls, all appear to be about the same age, as humans go, as your group, if maybe a little older. They are a rough looking bunch and they dress in deep blue leather pants and vests over silver shirts.

The Skazer Tag Challenge is about to begin. Any Questions? When the game begins I’ll start by making six Skill Checks to see how well the Blizzard patrol rides in round one, then I’ll make to hit rolls at each of you. Your team can shot anyone of the six Blizzard patrol Team members and they are
Pig Squeak (m) t AC 12
Cotton Tail (f) t AC 13
Snowball (f) t AC 14
Rocket Jonny (m) t AC 12
Little George (m) t AC 12
Numbsickle (m) t AC 14
Remember, your shots don’t count against a rider who has fallen off his feet in the round, so pay attention to my Skill Check Rolls

Gobzilla |

[dice=Gobzilla "Ride" (Handle Animal) Check]1d20+5[/dice] +4 if the normal druid bonus for handling one's own animal companions still applies.
Attack on Little George: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Mere milliseconds after the game starts, Gobzilla kicks off on Gaia the Skateboard and immediately nails Little George with a quick laser shot.

Ivvinne leads the team through the glass doors of the Skate City arena, to the right a pair of blue doors wait. A small team of technicians approach the heroes and fits each of you with a special helmet and vest, which seem heavy but not any kind of armor at all. Then you are each handed your choice of either a bulky rifle, or an even bulkier pistol. After checking the weapons, which don’t seem to shoot anything, but do make exciting explosive sounds, the team is ushered through the blue doors.
You find yourselves standing on an open platform above a veritable sea of strange obstacles, pipes, tubes, wall sections, rails, and strange boxes are scattered all around in front of you, but across this space, at the far end of the enormous room, you see the Blizzard Patrol standing on a similar ledge.
There is tension in the air, you can hear your own, and everyone else’s breaths, in and out. Suddenly the lights go very dim, the strange objects on the arena floor seem to glow by their own power, and a light smoke fills the room – then from above come the strange sounds of a powerful female voice singing an anthem of triumph, the voice sounds vaguely familiar

Terquem |
A horn blasts loudly, and the members of the Blizzard Patrol launch themselves down off the platform moving on their wheels, heading into the maze below

He catches a glimpse of LG, and swings his weapon up to fire, but the opponent ducks behind a blue wall at the right moment.

Fluuk |

Fluuk zooms out into the arena. Fluuk will take -6 to his Ride roll.
