Looks like a SPAS Franchi...
And so it is. Thank you, thank you very much Better picture for comparison
Now I know what to put in DA's letter to Santa. Well that and the Elvis suit and the photos of Santa and not Mrs. Claus to get DA off the Naughty list.
Now how to convince Mus'ad that the grilled Sea-Hare is really tandouri chicken.....

Ok now that the shock has worn off I have a few small questions.
This should all be stuff that DA knows or is meta which is why I am asking here rather than in the game thread.
a)Can money be used to fix up the lair? Thinking adding living quarters by bringing in some cowboy labor. Bad penny would be great at this part.
b)I know weapons, ammo, armor and accessories thereto are black market only but what about:
~1. Common Gear (p27 NE). Specifically:
~1.1 Camouflage fatigues,
~1.2 MRE's,
~1.3 lockpicks
~1.4 auto-grapnels.
~2. Miscellaneous gear (p28 NE). Excepting those items called out as Black market only either on the table or in the item description of course. Specifically:
~2.1 Med-Stims,
~2.2 Rocket Packs,
~2.3 Rocket pack fuel,
~2.4 artificial gills.
~3. Civilian ground, air and water vehicles.
~4. the surveillance gear on page 52 in SWEX.
c)Is money laundering something we need to worry about for amounts smaller than a bank heist?
No rush on the answers, and 'it depends' is a perfectly reasonable response.
I expect rebuilding DA's network of black market contacts (AKA the streetwise skill and connections edge) to be a priority for some time. So I am just looking for the things one can find in normal shops in Up or Downtown or maybe at Industry Shops in Westpoint.
Devil's Advocate.
But but... Mus'ad looking forward to burrowing through rock with power of fists!
Is a swap kosher Peanuts? - if so, then yes Mus'ad can take one for the team so DA has more shinies.
I will build you crude nuclear powered drill-knuckles instead.
It will be fine, plus they will glow in the dark!
GM-Peanuts
a. Not really, at least not in a mechanically beneficial and/or permanent way. If you want to actual improve it's function you're going to have to invest edges or power points into it.
b1. lockpicks and autograpnels are starting to push it, but camo and MREs are fine. The lockpicks and auto-grapnels would have suffered some inflation in price and be harder to get a hold of through legal channels.
b2. from the description of med-stims I'm guessing you would have had to have a prescription for such things, so that's not likely to have changed. The rest is all sort of specialty equipment, and harder to come by these days.
3. civilian vehicles are as per book
4. like lockpicks etc these are going to be harder to come by, but not necessarily tooo inflated in price.
Basically if it's something that you would have had to have a permit or license for pre-invasion then it's probably going to be a little harder to come by, but not impossible, especially if you don't wish to apply for the current versions of said permits and licenses :D
As to Mus'ad's card... Eeehh, he already spent it technically, and no longer has the card to trade.
Devil's Advocate.
It never is DA. I'm hoping they're just busy elsewhere.
Well good news and bad news..
Bad:
No responses to the PM's.
Bad Penny has not posted under any alias since 23 jan.
Good:
Masque has posted under another alias as of the 26th and has a "OMG work went crazy" post up in another game. Per that post things should ease after this weekend.
Ugly:
I do not think we have lost Masque. The player has a good track record overall, I just think we were missed in the work crunch. Life happens, I recommend giving her another week at least.
I am not nearly so sanguine about Bad Penny.
---------------------------------------------
I am ready to move on and am good with assuming the Penny was working on getting the lair livable, no game effect just slightly better living quarters, heat, shop lights, makeshift shower, all very punk/squat/diy.
If the player does not return then Penny could be killed in some delightfully poignant fashion but this will at least cover some absence.
Masque could have been following up on hallucinations until she returns to the fold. I am pretty confident she will return before too long.
On the bright side I have noticed that all PBP's tend to suffer a wave of drops after the first dramatic sequence. If we only loose Penny we are leading the curve. I have seen drops of over 50%, not pretty.

Great the one day I DON'T bring the books to work. :7)
Will get the list to you by tonight.
Things DA will be looking for...
!. Car big enough for Mus'ad and the rest of the group. Open to either buying or stealing if the time is right.
@. Guns. The SPAS specifically. A single sale would be useful but DA is looking more for a reliable source. Streetwise useful? DA has but a d4 in the skill as the Advocate's former contact network has collapsed but with the wild die there is a chance. Feel free to make the roll to save time.
#.Z-belt. Again looking more for a source for armor as well as a single belt. Custom Duraweve/modified alien armor may play a role in the future.
$. Camping gear. Until we have a functional lair or at least raid the local Ikea we need basic food/shelter/etc. Looking for lighting, space heaters, camp beds/foam pads, and what supplies are need to rig a shower if the current hovel lacks such a thing.
%. Medical supplies. A decent trunk sized emergency kit something like this or as close to it as is available. Also smaller kits for everyone. Adding plenty of chemical lights to all kits.
More later but this will do for right now I hope
Devil's Advocate.
Shopping list addendum to above.
Camping gear and medical supplies are first priority after that it depends on what is available.
Note the following represents a wish list. I do not expect to find all of these items on one trip.
Secondary priority:
1. Reloads for the stun wand. 2 or 3 loads preferred but whatever is going.
2. Med stimms. I know this is unlikely but we might find a black market clinic.
3. Ammo. A couple of 100 round boxes of 9mm would not be amiss. Also looking for a source for shotgun shells, and if the fates smile on DA a source for HK ammo and /or trick ammo. If the planets align DA will leave with 50+ normal shells, 50+ slugs and 10 or more HK, net and foam rounds along with a shiny new pump-action shotgun to use them with.
Please see @ on previous post re: looking more for a source but will accept a one-time buy.
4. Electronic parts/tools/lab equipment. It helps to do mad science if one has plenty of spares.
Tertiary priority.
A. Ruger eye and laser sight.
B. Laptop or desktop computer assuming they are better that what I have in REBECCA.
C. Digital Camera and transportable memory.
D. Rocket Pack and fuel. Outside my price range if the x10 black market markup applies but a villain can dream
E. Rope that can take Mus'ad's weight. Will want a good bit of this.
F. Auto grapnel
G. Back packs for the team
H. Assorted flashlights. A heavy maglight/club for Mus'ad and smaller light'd for the rest of us.
I. Urban and night camouflage fatigues for the team. Assuming we can find a tailor who can handle the angry wall.
J. Street clothes for the team. Not a huge wardrobe but we need the ability to appear out of costume.
K. Transmitter detector. (likely able to do with the Awareness power but back-up helps)
L. Parabolic microphone. (ditto. Distance is a neg mod to the roll to overhear awareness removes all such mods.)
M. Stun or foam grenades. Not even sure how to price these as trick ammo is odd.....

Perhaps something like..
Arriving downtown DA and company wander the shops. <insert description of downtown. Shops and shopping under the occupation, etc. Note that the Slab of meat and gold that is Mus'ad is gathering some attention with some spilling onto the two beautiful women traveling with him.>
Tell DA that there are few cars other than delivery vehicles that could comfortably seat Mus'ad and the rest of the group. Besides which with out a garage and a way to change the vehicles appearance ownership of a stolen car would be short lived and buying a car would be difficult without a registered address.
However the following things were easily purchased. (4.C.E.G.H.I.J.$.%) Total cost was $???
Between Mus'ad's intimidation, Bella's persuasion and the remains of DA's network you were able to find a bookseller with two reloads for the stun wand that they were 'just holding for a friend' but will let you have for $$$$.
Some rather friendly persuasion from Bella convinces the bookseller to divulge a contact who works for (name of ammo trafficker/gunsmith/drug and med runner. Whatever you feel like giving us. Getting a real connection will of course take a small yet no doubt violent adventure. The name Jak Candy a hybrid drug/meds trafficker springs to mind. Perhaps we have to bust him/her out of the same camp we just broke out of only without the help of the Good doctor.)
Unfortunately Mus'ad walking about covered in gold and sex did not go unnoticed. As we ride the mag-lev homeward a violent gang takes exception to our easy and unfettered lifestyle. A quiet and reasoned discussion ensues and we all stop for an evening of tamales and chess at a friendly Southpoint bodega.
Something like that perhaps?

Unfortunately, illness seems to be turning my brains into scrambled toast, so don't be surprised if I don't post for a day or so. Will be back when I'm feeling better.
GM-Peanuts
Alright, sorry again about the delay, I'm just bad at this :p
To respond to a few of the items on your shopping list. The following will need to be purchased on the Black Market (for a greatly inflated price):
@, #, %, 1, 2, 3, A, D, K, L, M
(You may be able to find some of them in specialty stores, but don't count on it).
The following should be available 'legally' if you can find the right kind of specialty store that would stock them:
$ (in progress), 4, E (in progress), F, I (for Mus'ad), J (for Mus'ad)
Readily available:
C, G, H, I (for the rest), J (for the rest)
aaaand a few specifics:
! - As you stated, delivery vehicles, panel vans, that sort of thing could fit him, but not comfortably without modification.
4 - The quality of anything like this will be affected by your HQ stats.
B - Perhaps if the aliens hadn't invaded... but ANY of your devices are going to be FAR beyond anything publicly available. Rebecca is basically one step short of an AI after all :p
K - Your awareness power, given the description as Radar Enabled is only going to be able to detect radio signatures. The way I read the power all it does is to remove vision penalties. If you would like it to do more then you'll need to sink more points into it to add additional powers or trappings.
Mus'ad gets something to hit? :P
Soon... Soooon. *strokes Mus'ad's hair*
Unfortunately, illness seems to be turning my brains into scrambled toast, so don't be surprised if I don't post for a day or so. Will be back when I'm feeling better.
Feel better soon!
and now I better go look at opening recruitment again *sigh*
Devil's Advocate.
Thanks for the breakdown.
Re: Awareness Rebecca is not limited to Radar. That was really just for the acronym. It is hard to fit RADAR, LiDAR, MDAR, and active/passive sonar/infrared with Ultra/sub sonics and full band EM sensitivity into something that rolls off the tongue. I intended for Rebecca to be a general sensor suite able to provide a 360' HUD as well as analyze targets. Basically I want her to pick up everything short of everything short of mystic vibrations and x-ray vision. Thought the long IR that lets you see rough figures through non-reinforced walls is a thought.
Would it be possible, assuming I can find/buy/pry from cold dead hands thinks like parabolic mics, giger counters (though mind you these are on chips now and a vital part of every smoke alarm) etal. Could DA just build them into rebecca or are points needed? If points are needed how much are we talking?
Oh and I thought there was a Mag-lev running between South-point and down town. (NE p7 Southpoint first para.) Mind you it is down a great deal. So all good there.
GM-Peanuts
Lets try this again... *mutters*
Powers in Savage Worlds only come with a single trapping, which in some cases allows some flexibility with the power to do other things. In Rebecca's case this would would be radar. There aren't really rules for getting additional trappings, so I'd suggest something else.
From the sound of it you are wanting some sort of general sniffing device to scan the electromagnetic spectrum (completely different from Awareness). I would suggest taking the Heightened Senses power, it would allow you to make Notice rolls at +2 to detect signals in the EM Spectrum, and since it'll be a device you could also take the Tracking modifier to follow said signals all for 1 point. Similarly you could also take the Energy Control power if you wanted some sort of Jamming/Interference device.
If you instead want to get a bunch of equipment then that's fine, but from memory you were pretty close to being encumbered already :p
As to the mag-lev rail in Southpoint it appears you are correct, I only recalled the one on the bridge.
Devil's Advocate.
Sorry, me again.
Confused here.... The targeted mod on the illusion power (NE page 51 indicates a smarts roll at -2 to distinguish what is real from what is not. That was the roll I made. I am sorry that I missed the request for the notice roll. In any case Rebecca as a non AI should not be effected. How do you wish to interpret Awareness vs Illusions mental or otherwise? Or would it be better to simply retro-change the awareness power into something less contentious?
GM-Peanuts
I'm aware what the Smarts roll was for; but as I said, like in Pathfinder you have to interact with the target before you get to make a Will save/Smarts roll.
There's nothing wrong with the Awareness power, it just doesn't do everything you want it to do :p It might potentially allow you to figure that something odd is up if the illusion is drastically different from what is actually there. As it stands there would be some discrepancy between the readings and what DA can see, so I'll allow that as good enough reason for the smarts roll in this case. Even if Rebecca was an AI she wouldn't be susceptible to mental powers anyway (unless the person with the mental powers was a technopath)
Devil's Advocate.
I was also unclear exactly where we were in the round. Also what is the range from DA to the Drones/Fins? The Haywire power has a range of 12" and the pistol is not much better.
In other news i ran into a friend of mine today and they are interested in joining. They will be new to these boards but they are a solid Savage Worlds gamer. Shall I send them a link to here?
GM-Peanuts
You are exactly where it says you are. Belledonna, then Mus'ad, then DA, then the V'Sori guys. I assumed DA would wish to interrupt them shooting Belledonna in the face and rolled agility for him, he beat the V'Sori troops.
Distance is within 12", probably about 8" with a glass storefront window and Belledonna between you and them.
Sure send your friend the link and have him stat up a NE character.
If you guys are ever unsure of something then ask, if I miss your question, then ask again; otherwise we all just sit here twiddling our thumbs waiting for someone else to post :p
