Hi.
I'll be playing Lucas Crowe, former brutaris star and renowned sports personality. OutPost is going to be my first time playing Starfinder, so apologies if I make a mistake or two.
Lucas approaches combat like he used to approach brutaris (a popular contact sport, a bit like American football crossed with handball played in the X-Men's Danger room) - with speed, agility, and aggression. He's built as a melee soldier but with reasonable manoeuvrability. He's not so great on a starship but has full BAB and a moderate Dex so could probably operate a gun. Out of combat he mostly gets by on his good looks and imposing bulk.
I've added myself to both slides as requested, dotted and deleted in gameplay, and my lame Day Job roll is below.
Day Job: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

![]() |

Hi all! Also, hi bigboom! I managed to get in one of your Outpost games with Hirix after all!
Hirix is a shirren operative in the style of a film noir private eye, though I've got a feeling she came off as more of a '20s gangster than anything else in her first scenario!
I'm looking forward to starting this one soon. Lucas, you are in good hands with bigboom for your first Starfinder experience. :>
Day Job (Private Eye): 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (6) + 12 = 18

![]() |

Hey. My cousin told me there was some work here. So here I am.
Thanks for having me, GM bigboom.
Player: Caro Cogitatus
Character: Naboh Berrnshaw
SFS#: 106336-704
Faction: Acquisitives
Day Job: Day Job Vidgamer: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
Homeworld: Akiton

GM bigboom |

Lucas, no worries about being new. Let me know if you have any questions along the way! Or even any questions before we start!
Hirix, your character definitely came off as noir private eye, that's the impression that I got every time she spoke so I'd say you were right on point.
Naboh, I'm thinking the next time one of my ysoki characters ends up in the same game as Naboh, I'm going to declare them cousins.

![]() |

It's probably true. I got a lot of cousins.

![]() |

Hey, everyone. Looking forward to playing with everyone.
Silveras Vazinus likes to think of himself as a charismatic Vesk. He avoids killing as best as he can and, to that same point, does everything in his power to make sure his friends and those around him stay alive. In his down time, he's a musician of minor fame.
His father was a Starfinder and after the Scoured Stars Incident, Silver joined the Starfinders hoping to help in their efforts and eventually find his father.
He best serves on a starship as a captain, but he could fill in for an engineer or gunner.
I'm forgoing a day job roll in order to progress the True Savior of Tasch Slotless Boon (1/5).

![]() |

Actually, I'm still down to play if there isn't, but if anyone knows someone who would like to play this scenario, I'm willing to give up my spot.

GM bigboom |

I don't know anyone off the top of my head but if you wish to drop from the game, then I would announce that a space has opened up for anyone who wishes to join. Just let me know as soon as you can in order to give others a better chance of filling your spot. Thanks!!

![]() |

I'll just drop out. Wouldn't want you waiting super long. Sorry about that, guys. Best of luck.

![]() |

I'll just drop out. Wouldn't want you all waiting to see what happens with me. Sorry about that, guys. Best of luck.

GM bigboom |

No worries and thanks for speaking up! Will see if there are other interested players!

Hey, I’ll be playing Leif a lushunta envoy, he is a ambassador to absolon station. He’s very much a people person I’ll fill in details tonight or tomorrow

GM bigboom |

Sounds good! With the addition of Leif Mac Adaim and Kalteisen von Jäger (who pm'd me) that's our six players for the table!
Everyone, let me know if there are any questions as you finalize your character details this week!

![]() |

Awesome, sounds like we're almost ready to go!
Just a heads up that I'm off on holiday at the beginning of next week. I'll normally be posting from GMT, but the wife and I are flying to Mexico on Monday so it may set some of my posting back a little. We're only there for just over a week so things will return to normal after that.

GM bigboom |

Understood, Lucas. If needed, I'll bot your character and if you have any specific botting instructions you'd like me to follow, please include them in your character sheet.
With us being one week away from starting, here is our current status:
- Leif and Kalteisen are both working through their character's details over the next day or two
- Woodenman is working out which character he'll bring to this table
- After these three characters are more firmed up, I'll ask the party to decide & setup your marching order on slide 2
- Lastly, this scenario does include the starship tag, so the party will also need to decide starship roles for each character
No rush in figuring out all of the above, so long as it's all set by the Outpost 1 start date (March 5). In the meantime, let me know if anyone has any questions!!

![]() |
more detail time I'll be playing Lief Mac Adaim as I stated Earlier, Leif is a Lashunta Envoy he is very protective of his friends but also just of the universe as a whole, he always prefers to settle things without coming to blows partially because he is much better at talking then firing a pistol, he thinks of it as his business to know everything there is to know about any know person or creature. in a starship he serves best as a captain but can fill in as science officer or gunner, in combat he acts as a secondary healer with inspiring boost or a really bad dps with a pistol.
Day job (ambassador): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20

![]() |

Naboh is best at Piloting (+12), but would also make a good Engineer (+10) or Science Officer (+8), and a passable Gunner (+5).
He prefers to be toward the rear of marching order, but anywhere not in the front row is fine.

![]() |

Hirix is mediocre at spaceship stuff. Piloting seems to be in the bag for Naboh, so she can take a pretty poor Engineer role (+5) or a mediocre gunner role (+4).
From what I've seen in the single starship combat I've done so far, more gunners is good.

![]() |
actual number wise all skills relevant to captain Leif has a +8, gunner he would have a +1, computers +5

![]() |
if I don't play my -701 can i apply my welcome to starfinder boon to the first character i played

![]() |

1st time doing Online, so trying to figure interface and such out...

![]() |

Kalteisen, welcome! We're newby-friendly here.
I found this post to be very helpful. The basics are pretty basic:
I use boldface to say things out loud.
I use italics for internal thoughts.
Bold italics is therefore very good for telepathy or similar communication.
Example:
You'll use dice quite frequently: [ dice = Description ]d20 + modifiers[ / dice ] (without all the spaces it rolls your dice for you)
Can I read the spoiler?: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9 Sadly, I can't. So I attack the forums!
Pistol, Get 'Em: 1d20 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 + 1 = 14 Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1
And lastly, use out-of-character for questions to the GM, jokes to other players, or anything else not spoken by your character.
All these are detailed in the "How to format your text" button just below when you write a post.
Oh, yeah, and ALWAYS preview. It's easy to miss a tag and completely screw up your post, or have someone post something while you were crafting yours.
Welcome and have fun!

Character chosen. Turns out neither table really has any holes I can plug. So I just picked one and signed him in.
I can't access the maps & slides from work - I think it's the tinyurl link you've used.

GM bigboom |

if I don't play my -701 can i apply my welcome to starfinder boon to the first character i played
Unfortunately, the welcome boon can be applied to the 701 character only: Thread
Kalteisen, welcome! Naboh has provided excellent information and please feel free to post any questions you may have!
Twik, I'll get back to you regarding that link for both this table and my other table.

GM bigboom |

Twik, I've removed the usage of tinyurl from the campaign link and from my GM stat line. Please give it another try: CLICK

![]() |

Thanks GM, I'm hoping it won't prove an issue.
Sadly Lucas is going to be pretty useless on a starship. I can offer an Intimidate of +4 and gunnery at +3, but that's really about it.
Nice to see a fellow Exoguardian Kalteisen.

![]() |

Twik is best at Captain (+8 Dip, Intim, +10 Bluff) or Gunner (+5) or can serve as a passable pilot (+9).
Has no prowess whatsoever in Computers or Engineering so those roles are out.
There is a possibility for us to have a slightly less good pilot (ie Twik or anyone else with +9) so that Naboh can be the Engineer (+10).
But positioning / winning initiative seems very important so I’m not sure I’d want to make that trade.

![]() |
To me it’s looking like captain twik +8/10 gunners Lucas hirix +3/4 science Leif +4 engineering kalteisen (not sure yet she hasent put skills) pilot naboh +12

![]() |

Sounds good to me.

![]() |
When we get kalteisen skills that might change
The current alternate layout is captain Leif +8 pilot twik +9 engineer naboh +10 gunners lucas and hirix +4+3 unknown kalteisen

![]() |
Shot messed up on my skills I was looking at my preliminary sheet not the final one. Only major change was I spec’d into diplomacy more and less in culture. So replace that 8 In diplomacy with a 13+1d6

GM bigboom |

Leif, it currently appears that you are dotted in with Vegoia instead of Leif. I assume this was just a posting mistake in the gameplay thread?
Also, if your character details are finalized, can you please include your character sheet in Leif's profile? If you're still working through your character, then no worries, still plenty of time.
Thank you!

![]() |
That was just a mistake, I’m on my phone at the moment I’ll do it when I can get to my computer

![]() |

Again, sorry for my newness... Anaba should have been Kali
I'm trying to figure out how to get information locked between my Name and Picture... Ministat block info and skill buttons.
Skills I put under "Anaba" are correct for Kalteisen (Kali for short).
Kali scratches her head in confusion..."I'm looking to be a Gunner, as my piloting it a little low (+5) and I lack Science or Engineering skills."

![]() |

I'm trying to figure out how to get information locked between my Name and Picture... Ministat block info and skill buttons.
Under Kalteisen's profile page (ie. http://paizo.com/people/KalteisenVonJGer) you can set up that stat line. Specifically, the stat line is made of the following fields in order:
1) What's written in the gender field on your profile page for the character2) What's written in the race field
3) What's written in the classes/levels field
Most people include the majority of their extra details (saves, relevant skills, etc) in the classes/levels field of the profile, though I see Naboh has some deluxe stuff going on in his fields to include all the skills in a nicely formatted way. Feel free to check out Hirix or Naboh's profile to see how its set up.

![]() |

Kali turns to Hirix, "Thank you kind lady, I will do what I must to make this as painless on my fellow Starfinders! Unfortunately, I must leave the Lorespire to do my day job until tomorrow."

GM bigboom |

Yup, to reiterate what Hirix said, I put my stat line in the 'race' field.
As for my full character sheet I just use the 'About' text box. I don't use all the individual profile fields like: size, age, strength, dexterity, constitution, etc. You certainly can do so and there's nothing wrong with it - I just find it easier to enter my full sheet into that one 'about' field.
Here's an example of one of my character's profile: CLICK ME
Some people maintain their character sheet on other websites and just put a link in their profile here to that other website. That's fine too.
And others maintain a PDF copy of their character sheet and provide a link to their PDF on Google drive or Dropbox. That's fine too.
Just go with whatever method is easiest for you, so long as you have a way to share your full character sheet.

twik where is the legacy heritage from?

![]() |

Progress! Thanks for all the tips guys. Will try to wrap up character info tomorrow.

Good news everyone!! The con boons have been announced!
Let's get the boon rolls done now so that we don't forget at the end of the scenario. First, roll a 1d20 then roll a 1d2. On the 1d20 roll, if you roll a 1 or a 20, then you win a boon. The 1d2 roll will determine which of the two boons you win. Also, if you win, I'll need your email address. Good luck!!
Boon Roll, Gimme a 1 or a 20!!!: 1d20 ⇒ 17
Boon Selection, if I win: 1d2 ⇒ 2
You have acquired the technical blueprints to modify one of the weapons onboard your ship into a light plasma cannon.
Benefit: When this boon is slotted, select one light weapon onboard your starship. Replace this weapon with a light plasma cannon (Starfinder Core Rulebook 302). This new weapon must go in the same arc as the replaced weapon. The modifications are somewhat jury-rigged, and as a result, all gunnery checks using this weapon take a –1 penalty.
Special: You do not need to worry about the PCU and BP difference between the original weapon and this weapon when slotting this boon.
You have come to the attention of one of the elected pirate lords of the Free Captains. This group of intrepid star pirates operates firmly outside of Pact World law, and few Starfinders willingly deal with them. Based in the Diaspora, the Free Captains make alliances of convenience with outside organizations. The pirate lords refuse to tolerate weakness, immediately severing all ties with allies who become perceived as such by other Free Captains.
Benefit: When you have this boon slotted, you gain a +2 insight bonus to all skill checks made to influence members of the Free Captains (Starfinder Core Rulebook 476). You also gain a +2 circumstance bonus on Intimidate checks made to demoralize a foe, or when using Intimidate as part of a demand or taunt a starship captain action. This bonus increases by 1 for each infamy you possess. If you ever reduce your infamy while this boon is slotted, cross this boon off your Chronicle sheet.

Boon Me!: 1d20 ⇒ 14 Deeee-nied!
