deadly aim
to hit: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23 damage: 1d10 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17 putting a nasty looking hole in his belly

The one in the back presents something that looks like a small mask with a star on it, and mutters a prayer to Norgorber.

All of a sudden a cloying miasma of greasy darkness erupts around you, filling most of the room. Almost immediately it is gone, but not without doing harm.

damage: 4d8 ⇒ (7, 2, 7, 7) = 23

DC 17 will save for half (if you fail the save you are sickened)

The others move up and strike.

Urga will rage and then power attack the creature in front of him with his great sword.

Attack: 1d20 + 8 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (20) + 8 + 2 - 2 = 28

Damage: 2d6 + 6 + 2 + 6 ⇒ (3, 2) + 6 + 2 + 6 = 19

Damage: 2d6 + 6 + 2 + 6 ⇒ (2, 1) + 6 + 2 + 6 = 17

Oh, I forgot to point out the 23 damage is only that if you:
A) fail the save
and
B) are good aligned

So if you make the save it is 1/2 and if you are neutral it is 1/2. If both, it is 1/4

I need a will save Urga, and you drop the one in front of you.

Flik misses. Billy hist the one in the back for minor damage (why do you have a -2 on your damage?).

Thomas will save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20 takes 11
Shenderik will save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16 takes full damage and is sickened

Thomas stabs at the one in front of him (power attack, fighting defensively)

I thought be sickened results in -2 to damage

Will Save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 Billy has taken 22 points of damage so far

Billy grabs one of his potions and swallows it Cure Light Wounds...since the effective caster is Billy, I'm assuming he gets the +1 healing per level.
Heal: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

No, potion caster levels are set by the potion creator. This is pretty much always done at minimum casting level to keep the cost down. Hence it is +1. If it were a 5th level caster CLW potion it would cost 5x as much.

Sorry didn't notice everyone had gone already.

Thomas will swing at the last one in melee.

to hit: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21 damage: 1d8 + 14 ⇒ (2) + 14 = 16

Shenderik will shoot the same one.

to hit: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24 damage: 1d1 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9

The target is looking pretty sorry right now.

Thomas will save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20 save 6 damage
Shenderik will save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 13 damage

I might as well include this.

If you fail the save:
The room you are in has vanished and you feel that you have been transported to one of the nine hells. You are surrounded by flames and pools of burning pitch. Tortured souls a shacked to the walls and wail in anguish. You nose is filled with a stench of brimstone. You are shaken (pretty much -2 to all rolls this will stack with sickened if you already got that)

if you make the save:
You see a shadowy overlay on the room of what appears to be a hellscape. You recognize it for what it is, and it does not disturb you.

Flik pops his Spontaneous Healing as a free action and shoots his rifle at the holy symbol wielder again.

Attack: 1d20 + 8 - 2 ⇒ (8) + 8 - 2 = 14

and if I could roll over 10, I could probably hit...

actually you came quite close, since it is nearly touch AC

M Gunslinger LV 4/Fighter LVL 1; AC 20; Initiative +8; HP 39; Fort +6; Reflex +8; Will +3 Perception +9, Masterwork Rifle; Bayonet; +11(+12) to hit (1d10+4(5)) damage

Will: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

Billy tries to keep his eyes fixed on the target as the world alters around him. Between dry-heaves and the hellish landscape, hitting the evil caster will take a bit of good fortune.

Damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12

Billy manages to land a shot despite looking quite jittery and unwell.

Urga will charge forward swinging his sword with abandon at the one in the back.

to hit: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12 miss

Thomas (12/39 HP)again swing at his opponent.

to hit: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23 damage: 1d8 + 14 ⇒ (4) + 14 = 18 and he will send the target down in a heap of gore.

Shenderik (13/49 HP) will take a shot at the spellcaster with quaking hands.

to hit: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9 and the shot flies off wildly.

The remaining foe steps away from Urga and casts a spell.

Needs a will save from Urga. DC 17

Ok, you broke the spell and the attack lands. You are staggered this round and your AC is lowered by 2 until next round. Of course since you only have 1 attack a round it doesn't much matter.

Actually, sorry, a 12 doesn't land.

Thomas attacks:
to hit: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22 damage: 1d8 + 14 ⇒ (8) + 14 = 22

Shenderik will activate his challenge then takes a shot
to hit: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28 confirm: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27 damage: 4d10 + 32 ⇒ (2, 8, 5, 6) + 32 = 53

putting s shot right through the villain's neck and collapses bleeding out (but still alive in case you want to stabilize and interrogate him).

Flick applies a healing concoction and stabilizes the one that just went down. After a bit more healing you are able to revive him.

After talking to him for a while you find him to be rather uncooperative. In fact you think possibly something has messed with his mind because he is so intractable.

On him you find (I will assume you will eventually figure out what it all is):

wand of cure moderate wounds (12 charges);, +1 mithral chain shirt, +1 mithral buckler, +1 rapier, masterwork hand crossbow with 10 poisoned bolts (drow poison), reaper’s mask

You investigate the rest of the floor taking your time. There is not another living soul in the place. Behind the double doors in the SE appears to be an office.

The walls of this room bear macabre decorations— human faces stretched flat over wooden frames by strips of leather or black twine. Each face grimaces in a slightly different expression of pain, looking down on a cramped room that contains a desk, a high-backed rocking chair, and a low-slung cot heaped with scratchy-looking blankets. A ladder in the southeast corner of the room leads up to a trap door in the ceiling. There is also a large footlocker.

Inside the footlocker there are a number of books.

On is a treatise on a forgotten school of magic.

The next is a fine volume full of writing in arcane runes which you cannot make heads nor tails of.

The next presents tales of the Tane—the most feared of a group of notorious fey known as the Twisted, goliaths of war and madness dreamt and stitched into being by the Eldest. It is a very exquisite book with fine engraving, elaborate illustrations and top quality binding. It appears to be worth a fair amount of coin (appraise check puts it at around 750 GP).

The last is a slim volume written in some sort of cypher.

Flik takes a close loot at it and thinks that with enough time he can figure it out.

You proceed up through the trap door to the roof. Up there is a rookery.

A timber cabinet sits against the northern wall here, its doors made of iron mesh. Inside perch three strangely silent ravens. A table nearby holds a tall narrow bucket of bird feed, a quill, and a vial of ink, as well as several thin parchments weighted down by a polished rock.

Apparently these are messenger birds. Deciding to see and where one might go if released, you set one free.

Urga Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
Thomas Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
Shenderik Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31
Billy Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
Flik Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19

Shenderik and Billy are able to keep the swiftly moving bird in their view all the way to its destination. They see the ravens swoop under the Irespan to the north to alight atop one of the tallest towers under the ancient stone bridge—the Shadow Clock.

With this lead fully explored and your next step clear, you head back to the trade mission to meat with Williamson. You bring along your prisoner. He is identified as a prominent judge in Magnimar known as Ironbriar. It is decided to keep him penned up secretly until enough evidence can be found to convict him of his crimes (which will come with decoding the slim volume, but it takes a few days).

Upon arrival, Williamson has a note from Alkenstar for Shenderik, He opens it and reads it. "Oh, gods, my father has passed while I've been on this mission. I must make haste to return and put my families affairs in order. He ran a complicated business and I have a number of younger siblings who cannot take care of this and must be looked afer. I am sorry to abandon you on this quest. "

Thomas also speaks up "I have been finding this mission to be too dire for my constitution as well. I think it is also best if I head back to the homeland instead of failing you at a crucial moment. I'm sure good master Williamson here will be able to find you a replacement. "

With that they shake the hands of everyone and begin preparations to take the next ship back to Garund.

"Well as a matter of fact I do have some new agents available as replacements. Given the lethality of hostile encounters with magic and the already demonstrated attrition rate for this team, I felt it prudent. " and he motions to his aide.

A door opens and three more individuals come into the room, two halflings and a human.
