Unwilling to leave Kaddoc alone in case something does come through, Sparrow volunteers to help keep an eye, just in case.
ie, haven't posted a while and that works. As long as Kaddoc doesn't mind the company.

The_Ninja_DM |

Don't worry about it, I've been a bit lax as well. Sorry.
Those on guard: The tunnels remain calm.
At the cathedral: Ameiko says "He'll have to go to trial. Probably in Magnimar. I'm not sure how fair anyone here will be. I'm not sure how I feel. I want to get this 'lover' of his as well. Maybe because I'd like to believe it's all her fault. Please..."She looks at those of you here with her"find this 'love' and bring her in as well. They both need to face judgement for this."
Father Zanthus looks through the journal and pales. He mutters one name. "Nualia."
At the Garrison: Tsuto continues to reamin defiant. His loyalty would almost be admirable, were it not for the crimes he's committed in the name of this 'love' he's so loyal to. He seems convinced that she will rescue or revive him no matter what you do to him.

The_Ninja_DM |

He looks lost in painful thought. His response is as if he's speaking to himself, at first. "Nualia Tobyn. Adopted daughter of my predecessor, Ezakien Tobyn. An Aazimar. Such a beautiful and innocent child. She looked like a magnificent metallic statue come to life. Silver hair, copper nails, golden skin and violet Azlanti eyes, like precious gems. Father Tobyn thought her a gift from Desna, washed ashore during a storm. He raised her to be the perfect daughter of Desna, and wanted her to serve Desna in Windsong Abby, forever pure. The superstitious locals, and not only the Varisians, thought her able to work miracles just by existing, and haunted her every move. When she couldn't do what they wanted, they took it to mean she selfishly wouldn't. She'd have folks grab her in the street, demanding cures for everything from warts to death itself. Strangers would walk up to her and cut off pieces of her hair or clothing as lucky charms. The local children - hated and tormented her. She...fell..."
Here he looks up at you. "I knew, but I did nothing. It's partly my fault, I guess. I thought she needed love, and was finally getting it. I wish I'd spoken up then. Perhaps things might have been different. Let me show you something."
He stands up and walks to a cabinet, unlocking the bottom drawer and pulling out a battered, scorched box, carved with Desnan symbols that have been deeply scratched as if someone tried to remove them. He opens it and hands you a book badly damaged by fire.
"Read these. And try not to judge her too harshly."

Kaddoc the Grey |

Unwilling to leave Kaddoc alone in case something does come through, Sparrow volunteers to help keep an eye, just in case.
ie, haven't posted a while and that works. As long as Kaddoc doesn't mind the company.
He's guarding a creepy tunnel in the basement of building full of dead bodies. I don't think you can have too much company under those conditions.

Sparrow Seacutter |

At the Tunnel Entrance
"So Kaddoc, what brought you to Sandpoint anyway? Seems fortunate for you to be around at this time."

The_Ninja_DM |

Father Zantus reviews the journal and says "I'm not sure who this Malfeshnekor is, but a quasit is an imp-like demon. If there's one in the tunnels below Sandpoint, it should be dealt with. You'll need either cold iron or good-aligned weapons as it will resist damage from most normal types. It's probably also resistant or immune to most types of magical damage as well. Be careful if you're going after it."

Brindolfin Cloudcap |

The large half-giant cannot carry out any of his threats as he looks into the fanatics eyes. "You will have to answer to the proper authorities. I cannot judge you."
Brin roughly brings the criminal back to the others to hand over the authorities. He is eager to explore the tunnel.

Kaddoc the Grey |

"I have been marked by some divine being and it grants me boons against my will. I had hoped that the priests at the cathedral would be able to help me with my affliction, but they were little help other than noting that the church had heard of such things before. It seemed to trouble them."
"How about you? There's not many of the fair folk to be seen in this town."

Cilyanka Caumlo |

Before departing the church, Cilyanka takes Father Zantus to one side.
We should hurry. I have a feeling our answers lie with Nualia and this Malfeshnekor.
Yes, to the tunnels.

Sparrow Seacutter |

"I have been marked by some divine being and it grants me boons against my will. I had hoped that the priests at the cathedral would be able to help me with my affliction, but they were little help other than noting that the church had heard of such things before. It seemed to trouble them."
"How about you? There's not many of the fair folk to be seen in this town."
Sparrow turns and looks at Kaddoc, "Well, um, that's terrible. Hopefully you can find a way to remove it. Though I guess it's nice you're getting something out of the deal at least." She ponders for a moment. "And after we get this goblin business wrapped up, I was thinking of leaving town anyway. Maybe I can lend ya a hand." (Unless the story decides otherwise, lol)
"As for me, it's a classic tale. Fell in love, ran away from home, ended up getting knifed and left for dead. Washed up here and been staying since."
(Tunnels sound good to me. Also have we searched the rest of the building yet, I can't recall.)

The_Ninja_DM |

No, you haven't searched all of the upper and lower floors. GM fiat: Once you do, though, you can tell that the workers were slaughtered in their beds and the upper areas trashed by the goblins. There's nothing else to find in the Glassworks.
The long tunnel leading from the storeroom winds northeast for some distance through the bedrock underlying Sandpoint. It seems worked and stable for around a quarter of a mile before reaching a dead end.
Two side tunnels branch off from the tunnel's southern half. One has collapsed after about 400', the other, to the west, seems tp have once been bricked over at the point where it diverges from the main tunnel.
The westerly passage winds for 50' before tuning north for another 100 feet, where you find yet another brick wall, now broken down.
Note: this is the entry point to the catacombs map.

Kaddoc the Grey |

"As for me, it's a classic tale. Fell in love, ran away from home, ended up getting knifed and left for dead. Washed up here and been staying since."
'Love ever makes us the fool, does it not?
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
At the entrance to the catacombs Kaddoc waits,
"Does someone want to scout it out, or shall we 'kick down the door', as the saying goes."

Sparrow Seacutter |

"Headlong charges have served us well so far. I say we go for it."
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9

Alkaid |

"Wow, he's obsessed with his lady.
And that last page of his journal has him
hoping that she becomes a Succubus."
Hint, Hint ---------------------------/\
She pauses and thinks aloud
"Though I wonder if he would leak
information if put in the right conditions,
Like being freed by an imposter of his lady?"

Brindolfin Cloudcap |

The big man is quick to see the point.
"Tsuto did ask about you Alkaid, thinking you might be a succubus. I can see you could easily craft a charade to fool him. I will refamiliarize myself with the journal."
Brin reads the journal carefully for the first time rather than skim over it quickly as he did previously. Brin read the journal the first time as well as the hero in Army of Darkness memorized the key words to say.

Sparrow Seacutter |

"It might work. Could get some good information out of him that way. But we'd need to find a way to disguise you to look like her. And he's probably pretty familiar with her, so it won't be as easy. But if you're gonna do it, we should probably hurry. We don't want to give them too much time to find out about the Glass Works."

Alkaid |

she looks slightly peeved at hearing those words
"He thought I was a full-blooded succubus, that is completely false."
Sense Motive to notice that she is hiding something.
"As much as I hate using deception it could lead to the saving of more lives and given that Tsuto draws exceptionally well I can use to help with the disguise and the description from her childhood from father Zantus helps more."

Sparrow Seacutter |

"You think it'll work, let's try it. Like I said, I just don't like giving them more time than we should."
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13

Sparrow Seacutter |

"A moment." Sparrow takes a moment and searches the ground, looking for any signs of tracks or traps.
Survival (Track): 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 5 + 1 = 12
Perception (Traps): 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 8 + 1 = 24

Sparrow Seacutter |

OK, whoever is heading down the side tunnels, make a perception check.
Anything from my track and search rolls above before continuing?

Sparrow Seacutter |

kk, thanks.
"Don't see anything too strange. Let's go."
perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18

The_Ninja_DM |

As you enter this section, you see movement and are not surprised by the monster lurking behind the outcropping in the cavern.
The flickering torchlight reveals 3 hairless humanoids lurching forward on back-bent, dog-like legs, its hideous mouth flanked by tiny arms with three-fingered hands.

Round 1
Seeing the polearm miss her, Sparrow gives a quick hop back, sending an arrow flying as she moves.
5' step back, standard to shoot.
Bow: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 6 + 1 = 9
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Hmm, looks like I borrowed the DM's dice on that one ;p
