Mmmm, does sound good. Take some corn in the husks and grill them on the bbq with butter. Dang it now I need to bbq this weekend. Think I will make my heart attack burgers.

My wife who is a dedicated fan of the food network...Ok I am too, has this recipe for topping corn with a mayo, butter, sriracha and cilantro mix of artery clogging deliciousness.

*wipes drool of chin* I was raised by southern and creole cooks so most of my food is artery clogging but that sounds awesome. Heh, maybe we can trade recipies.

Time for Introductions.
I am a 40 something semi professional happily married to a great wife who is far too good for me, we live in the San Francisco bay area.
As far as gaming I started in 1981..Ah yes that magical summer between 8th and 9th grade. I played regulary for 17 years and then decided that I was too old to be playing this game[/dumb decision]. I started playing pathfinder about 15 months ago. I play in 2 home games and a few online games as it helps me pass time at work 8>).
I recently moved back to the bay area from Vegas, I used to go this place in Vegas "Hot and Juicy Crawfish" They served them in a bag with those delicious creole seasonings and the heads on...Man I miss that place. TL/DR Southern/Creole= Yum
I would love to trade recipes, I'll see if I can dig up that corn dressing when I get home.

I am a 20 something part-time Retail assistant who is currently single but not really looking. I like long walks on the bea--okay, this isn't a dating post. I live in the United Kingdom with my dad and hoping to get my independence off the ground as soon as I get a full-time job.
I was interested in tabletop gaming a while ago and studied the D&D 3.5 rulebooks when I couldn't join any games or run them myself, I discovered Pathfinder and found that if I was going to do fantasy tabletop I might as well use the superior equivalent.

Similar story here as Doctor M, 40-something professional, married, plus two daughters. Now living in Texas (god help me) via Chicago and London.
I was introduced to the game when my older brother came back from college with these four odd pamphlet books (the original three plus Grayhawk; still have those much dog-eared, pencil marked, soda stained things). Have played pretty regularly since then except for a hiatus late in college and a few years thereafter. However, between job, job related travel, and kids who play Select level sports and therefore eat up nearly every weekend, face-to-face games are difficult to pull off, and the few I’ve played in during the last few years were brief and inglorious. So online it is.
I’ve run a bunch of PBeMs—this is my first try at a PbP—the longest of which is still running after 13 years. Based on the overarching storyline, we should wrap it up in just 8 more years(!).
Garmack Scareye
Well if we are doing introductions I guess I might as well do it too. I'm 18 years old, live in Quebec Canada, and aim to be an English teacher in the years to come. I've lived in three different countries over the years and visited 13, my favourite foods are pizza, burgers and just about any asian food.
My hobbies include reading fantasy novels, watching movies and cooking food for me and my family. I started playin D&D 3.5 at the age of 7 with my brother and have been playing adventures regularly since mostly tabletop. Started Pathfinder a couple years ago have been doing PbP since, never managed to finish one though...
Currently have a girlfriend going on 2 and 1/2 years, hoping everything stays smooth. Definitely want kids later and hope to build a nice family.

Heh, Late 20's-something professional, married, no kids, six animals. Living in Central US but moving to Europe here in a month. Career opened up new possibilities and I am chasing them. I've roleplayed for over 15 years mostly text based until I reached the age of 18 and found D&D Found a couple of groups and got introduced. Met a lot of great friends and tested a couple of systems. I love Pathfinder even with its quirks.
Hobbies are, reading, writing, painting (ceramics and figurines) when i can find the time. I recently came to these boards and love it even though I have had some games die due to life.

This what I enjoy about online gaming, getting to game with folks from around the world and seeing different styles/gameplay. Well I look forward to crushing many enemies below our bootheels together

Me too, the PBeM I run currently has players from New Zealand, Israel, the UK, Canada, and the US. We occasionally manage live chat games but it's really difficult to schedule, heh.

I recommend we refer to humans and like-like races as 'civils' from now on. I know that the game was originally called War-against-the-civilised but if Orcs are considered savages, surely they have a more informal way of saying it?
Even 'civvies' would do it.
Karol Heart Singer
Civils is good.
I'm from Australia, city of Townsville in the state of Queensland. I have been role playing since 1981, and have played more games than I can remember. At the moment I am preparing to start my doctorate of literature. I am trying to write as a living, science fiction and fantasy. I have two daughters and a cat. One daughter has left home, the other still here. Currently with no significant other.

[professor]Good news everyone![/professor]
I've managed to get some time in to draw people's characters, it's still in photoshop as I finish up on Tigerwolf's shot and touch up a bit of Dergosh's. It's a tradition that I draw a line up of everybody's characters although there's so many more characters than last time that I couldn't do them all in this run.
Expect to see Tigerwolf, Majuba and Greez added to the group line-up. I moved Garmack next to Tigerwolf who is now next to Odak next to Dergosh next to Majuba next to Greez. People were chosen in order of 'how much I remember their character design' due to my drawing laptop not getting any internet.
Hoping to do Karol, Draxia and the others soon.
Odak the Iron Giant
Although clearly annotated, we have in order: Garmack, Tigerwolf, Odak, Dergosh, Majuba and Greez. With a relative size difference between each.
I moved Garmack to the absolute left and flipped him horizontally to face the others (he must be perfectly drawn because only good drawings can be flipped without looking weird)
Created Tigerwolf for the first time, I have no idea how tall she was supposed to be so I assumed she was 4'7". Also made up the costume at the top of my head, also the first female I've drawn for the game.
Odak being Odak.
Dergosh hasn't changed much but I did harden the lines of his clothes a little bit and cleaned up most of the sketch dust off his hands and face, should be much cleaner.
Created Majuba for the first time, I didn't remember him wearing anything more than a Mask and skirt of bones. You'll notice he's super-duper tall, that's because he's 9'6". 7'6" really wasn't pulling off the 'slenderman' ideal that he was going for so I'm allowing him to be that tall. (still a medium PC)
I traced over Greez' artwork from an older one I had on file and made a couple of adjustments including giving him some face paints similar to his avatar.
Karol Heart Singer
Love the drawings, can't wait for Karol. Remember he likes a pipe.
Odak the Iron Giant
Another artwork update! (refresh or hard-refresh [Ctrl+F5] to update)
• Created Draxia and Karol and placed them to the left with the other Half-Orcs. Draxia is supposed to be holding some kind of whip or leash in her hands, as if intended to be placed next to Dergosh. *wink wink*
• Tigerwolf lines should be translucent under her clothing, causing less visual clutter. Also moved her supporting leg across to better convey centre of balance.
• More clean-up on Dergosh's lineart, also made the fact he's wearing a breast-plate and chainmail more obvious, replaced shoulderguards with straps.
• Majuba is even TALLER now at 10'6", drew in a long neck to make up for the 'mask sitting on top of a body' look he had before, stretched torso and legs to new height and elongated arms and hands down to the shins. Lengthened feet a bit more too.
• Greez's face paints no longer have equally spaced hash lines to minimise clutter; added a bit of more definition to muscle groups.
Odak the Iron Giant
If you keep this I will be taller than Odak and Greez
Weeellll... I did actually keep one version with a 15'0" tall Majuba, which definitely qualifies. I didn't include it originally because it's a little much...
Ah what the hell, I'll put it in anyway! Happy slendermanning Majuba!
Doctor Majuba is /still/ considered a Medium-sized creature (feel free to compare overhead space to the Half-Orcs), he probably has the reverse of Powerful-Build, treated as one size smaller for pretty much everything despite his height. Also yes the picture is reversable if it IS too much, that's why I keep different versions on different layers!
Odak the Iron Giant
I think a good breeze would knock him over at that height
If you did, you'd float back down without harm methinks!
Though seriously, do you want me to revert the image back or do you actually want to play around with the idea? Because it doesn't do much good for showing what the characters look like if it's not what the player wants and especially if it's not going to be considered for roleplay.

Seriously I think it's awesome that you have the talent to draw these characters. But I think I will go with the 9'6" version.

Alrighty, seems fair enough! I'll try to make the amendments the next time I work on the file. Super-tall does Majuba good, makes him stand out amongst the party members.

Im tired today but can i get a good rough drawing of what we are looking at because I can't tell exactly what we are walking into I cant tell if we are walking in a crack of a mountain, into a canyon that goes up and down from our location. Or exactly what....
Sorry just a bit slow today.

I've put a link to a map view in the Campaign tab. I'm still befuddled by the html tag for urls, however, can someone explain how this should be formatted?
Looking forward to the day Paizo upgrades the boards for automatic tags...
Oh hey, got it to work through trial-and-many-errors!
Odak the Iron Giant
I would've suggested Maptool+Lightshot but remember that Merc/Dergosh has issues with Maptool alass. Still good of him to try to provide a visual asset though!

Yup, I used to use MapTool but then one day I could make the maps but not save them. Still use the token tool though.

I think we're running into the game problem my earlier games had, with roleplaying the minor scenes to set up bigger scenes. Aka. spending too much time playing getting into position instead of starting the battle.
It's not bad to have /a/ scene of planning but if it takes more than a day or two of forum posting it's taking way too long.
Odak the Iron Giant
I totally would rather go for the high ground but my character has no mind for tactics so....
Actually I'm curious, what role does Majuba or Witch Doctor play in a party dynamic?
For instance, Odak's the wall/tank who focuses on defending allies.

Well, He likes to be near the front debuffing enemies.(misfortune hex/evil eye/cackle) and spells like ill omen, ray of enfeeblement.
I like the idea of watching an enemy flailing around helplessly while he stands there and laughs. I also have 2 wands of healing for fixing folks up after combat.

Well, the party has a bit of a disagreement as to the tactics to take here, so that takes a little bit of time...and it is important that I understand exactly what everyone's actions are so that I play it out to the best of their intentions. Right now it looks like you're trying a two-pronged approach.
PbP/PBeM games are slow, slow, SLOW. IMO, they can also have a lot more depth because of the pacing, but it's a trade off to be sure.
Greez Fhang
I always thought melee should be tried to be in the front and ranged in a safer spot. But this is from the many RPG games I've played which allowed the option for a front and back row option.

Yeah so 7 rounds at 100ft. That's not including if we fall/cant move up. More than six rounds of them waiting will be needed honestly.
Well, since I don't know the dc I can't hazard a guess how good or bad I will do. The ropes and piton I don't think will give a bonus really to climbing but figured they could help with falling. These discussions should be moved to the discussion page instead of cluttering the actual thread.
DC 15 seems like it would be the dc to beat considering the descriptions so there is A lot of falling if its that on my part.
EDIT:
Actually on dc 15 I don't climb more than 14 feet *giggles* Yeah You might be on your own Garmack.
