Bring them back? I'll take the prisoner to them if I must! Surely Riva is intelligent enough to recognize she's operating under a deadline and to act appropriately. Besides, how long could it take? Surely Tartuk could point the way to one of his tribe's spellcasters, and Riva knows where the temple to Gorum is. If it was charm person that was used, that's measured in hours.
Adular
Adular keeps an eye out not just for Grigorio as he drinks, but on the folks about him, any who might be 'friends' of the bard and spying for him. While he suspects more magic than network, it seems best to play it safe
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15

"You might not want to be here. Never know who'll show up. And I tend to be a talkative drunk." MAllichatti says pointedly.
Rory shrugs and stands and sways a tad, never been one to hold his drink well. "At least let me get you guys a drink before I go." He says.
Powergaming DM
Surpassingly Grigori is in fact there having a animated conversation with some other people at his table.
"-think we should make a newspaper. This talking to crowds is all well and good, but it paints a huge target on me for the local despots. Also a newspaper ought to be more convenient for the general public. Get the dirt on the rulers without have to leave your home.-"
Rory Ward
I'm sorry guys, but Rory's a little drunk at the moment. Good thing is he's a happy drunk, not an angry drunk. Hopefully this won't be too hurtful to any plans you two might of had.
Rory looks at Adular and Mal and notices them starting off somewhere and follows there gaze only to see Grigori with a crowd of people. Spurred forward by liquid courage he approaches.
"I think a newspaper would be a grand idea. Good way to inform people of what's happening around the city, both good and bad. Unless you plan on it being a means of spreading baseless gossip. I've never been a fan of gossip, always lies meant to do harm but told in a way that makes it more believable. You wouldn't happen to be an expert in this trade, would you, Grigori."
Rory Ward
"You claim the werewolf attacks were caused by us exploring the nearby lands to ensure its safety for people to hunt in. Did you know we captured the werewolf and cured him. He explained to us that he was a wanderer and nothing more." Rory says and sits down in an empty seat.
"So I was thinking back on some of the stuff you've said and was wondering how you heard about some of the stuff. Some of the stuff were top secret information for the protection of the city, information that could jeopardize the safety of all of us now that you've let it out. So how did you find out?
Rory Ward
"The dragon is an issue we are currently working on. The means of which are currenþly classified as top secret. And I like how you completly glazed over how you were wrong about the werewolf incident. It really does seem to me that yiur taking whatever you can and spinning it iut of porportion to make us seem like the bad guys."
Rory Ward
"The cattle and other livestock were not the secret part. Like you said, it's pretty obvious. Though just keep in mind that each cow we give the dragon is one less citizen of this city that will be tortured and killed by the dragon. The secret part was about one of our men who went in to scoop info on the dragon's lair and was killed in the line of duty. You acted as if it was done out of greed and nothing more. That man died to try to gain some advantage against the beast for the protection of not just us but every man woman and child here and you spat on his memory. That man was like a brother to me." Rory said, his voice raising towards the end. He paused and let out a long sigh, his temper cooling.
"But obviously you have some better plan to take on this dragon. So lets here it. How do you propose to take care of her?" Rory asked, calm again.
Powergaming DM
"I haven't heard about you doing anything about you losing anyone. So I guess your secret was safe until just now."
"What you don't seem to realize is that the dragon is also an opportunity. I doubt you are going to be invaded by anyone else well a dragon is in the area. The problem is that you are not being open about it. You are keeping a secret Baddly. Which is both dishonest and incompetent."
Rory Ward
Sorry, didn't realize it was my turn to chat
"Fine, you want us to be more open, we'll be more open with topics. There's a green dragon that's taken residence some thirty miles north of us. She's a greedy b!tch. Now that I've come clean, its time for you to come clean. Who sent you here?"
Rory Ward
I'm going to sense motive that remark as well. Wish i could nonchalantly use inspire competence to give me an extra boost.
sense motive: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29
edit: why can't I roll this good in my other pbps... I'm going to wait for a result before I type out Rory's response.
Rory Ward
"Why do I think that? Because I grew up in the halls of the Brevoy royalty. Lies and tall tales were my constant companions. As such, I can tell when someone's being honest with me and when someone's hiding something. I'm going to ask you once more before I let my friends at the bar take you in for further questions and I can promise you this, they're not going to be as kind as I've been with you. Who sent you?" Rory asked with authority.
Rory Ward
"And what say you? You're still alive, for now at least. As well you should. We respect the River Kingdoms as the right of every man to his say what he pleases. However, that freedom doesn't save him from any punishment that may arise from such a freedom, not here at least. Despite you claimed ignorance you released word of our attempts to find knowledge of the green dragon residing in the woods here, word that could compromise the safety of every man woman and child that resides within these walls. You say you want us to do a better job at our job and you very well may have damned us all. Grigori, as much as I've enjoyed our back and forth just now, I'm placing you under arrest for crimes against the kingdom." Rory stood and walked back towards the bar where Adular and Mal have been watching. He patted Mal on the shoulder and with a stern face said, [b]"Don't hurt him. He's to receive a fair trial where his crimes will be put forth for the people to see."
Mallichatti Cervagio
"Meet me at the spot"
With that Grigori disappears and the two men at his table both run in different directions
Longshot, but a good roll and one skill rank can do wonders. Did he cast a spell and if so what?
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7 Spellcraft.
"No promises."
Gregori rushes one of the men and tackles him. I'll Rage while I'm at it cause why not.
Mallichatti Cervagio
MAllichatti shackles his victim up and drags him to his feet motioning for any nearby guards to give him a hand.
"You don't even know what oppression is. Back where I'm from you'd have to pay me a hefty sum to keep the beating light. That is if someoen else didn't pay to have the boot shoved farther in and ONLY if me and the lads weren't in the mood to do it anyway. Fortunately for you we're very far away from where that's acceptable civilized behavior. But, I swear to all the gods above and below if you test me the king will be unhappy to hear about all the really unfortunate falls and tripping you did you clumsy boy you."
